I'm a physics undergrad student, and I found this very interesting! I use these letters all the time in their mathematical contexts, so thank you for teaching me more about their origin

I really like these Greek alphabet videos! I'm an engineer myself, so it's really neat to be able to connect commonly-used Greek letters as variables and mathematical operations to the actual Greek alphabet and how they're used in the language. In the medical field, I know some terms are derived from Greek, such as καρδια for heart. Ω is used for electrical resistance yes, and ω is often denoted as angular velocity, angular frequency or natural frequency. So many of the Greek symbols are re-used in different fields of science and mathematics, hahaha. ΔΣ-modulation is also a digital signaling process for audio conversions between analogue/digital. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Delta-sigma_modulation In classical mechanics, ε is used to denote strain (deformation) of an object, whereas σ is used to denote stress (force per area). I remember your first Greek teacher roleplay video on your old channel and I absolutely enjoyed it! Keep up the great work!
I love your video on Greek language :) Here in Italy I studied in "Liceo Classico" (that is a high school where are studied ancient Greek and Latin languages, History of ancient Greece and other humanistic subjects. And I loved so much those subjects!). I also have a greek name: Arianna. I appreciate so much also your videos about Grecian Mythology because I studied it at school and I love it :)
Philosophy, mathematics and literature... Thank you Greece and thank you for the vid. Ironically, as a student, I wasn't "good" at math or literature, but after "growing up" I'm a novelist, published writer, auteur of quantum and theoretical physics and constantly run formulaic math for mental fun. Love all your work and the incredible decompressing effect your voice imparts for those in need of mental "chill". As with Greek myth, I salute the Gaia of Tingle, Bunnicus Maximus Asmrus!
+RoYaL - Agario για εκεί που θα μας μάθει και ελληνικά όχι εσύ η άλλη στο βίντεο και για να το πω στα English she is a girl who think that she is someone who know the Greek language so well to teach that legendary language to others people from England
Ohh, the pencil case... love the sounds. It brought it all back to me: the first time I ever experienced ASMR. I was at school, about 8 years old, and the teacher got angry with me for having a messy desk. I was a pretty disorganized kid back then, far too emotional and sensitive to keep my desk or my work neat. So the teacher kept me in during recess that day and assigned another girl to help me organize my stuff. She was very calm and gentle, and helped me find all my pencils in my messy desk. She organized them in my unused pencil case, and I immediately melted. The sound of the pencils gently clicking together, against the plastic of the case, and the gentle click as she closed the cover immediately relaxed me. It would be many years before I finally learned to become an organized person, but I discovered something that relaxed me that day, even though I had no idea why. Watching ASMR video clips reminds me of watching that poor girl help me organize my desk when I was 8 years old. She probably wanted to go outside and play with her friends at recess, but she got stuck in the classroom helping me. However, she never once made me feel bad about it and genuinely seemed to enjoy helping me organize my stuff. She'd probably be a great ASMR content creator today if she ever got into it.
The golden ratio is just an amazing thing. The formula you used is best understood with an example, take your arm, if you measure the distance from your shoulder to the elbow and the distance from the elbow to the tips of your fingers then divide this by the first distance (shoulder - elbow). After this you divide the distance from your shoulder to your fingertips by the lenght from your elbow to your fingertips, this should give you the same value as the first division. So thats pretty cool, but what is cooler is that it also works with your face, your legs, the whole body, some plants and flowers present the same characteristics, also many sculptures, paintings and buildings. It is considered that if something has the golden ration then is "beautiful". You know ... math jeje. By the way, great video as always
Your name is wonderful. I have a friend with the same name and here in Italy is Marianna. It's the same pronounciation as Greek but with different letters :D The same occurs with "ora", it means time also in Italian. I love the fact that Italian has so many words deriving from Greek
Mathematics has always been my favorite subject to study, so this video is extra awesome. I sometimes find myself getting really deep into the math behind random things that are going on around me. I find it super relaxing, although I've definitely not found many others who feel the same.
I just don't understand why this video has fewer views than some of your other ones. It's so relaxing and informative, showcasing two of your talents in a perfect blend. Please do more videos like this one.
Καλησπέρα κούκλα. You are my absolute FAVORITE!!! You've really gotten me through a rough couple of weeks. Life's stresses make it difficult to sleep, and you remind me that there are still good things in the world
Hi Marianna :) I went to Creta last two week for my holidays and I saw your video. It help me for read and understand the greek langage so thank you very much ! Haha, that's nice. Seeing all the letters I used in calculus subjects in school and university. Now, I know that my native language came from the Greek language, but still, listening to the words in greek and trying to remember the words in portuguese that looks like them is really nice. The "rhino" and "time" words are like the same. Really nice video, Mariana (My cousin's name. hahaha ) !

If I remember correctly, in engineering we used every letter but iota, omicron and upsilon. Sometimes we would use them twice just for some confusing fun! (fun for the professor) Thanks for another great video :-)
Loved seeing the letters I spent so much time learning in math and physics actually used in language. Your Greek lessons are always fantastic. If you did a series on Greek you would create thousands of new Greek speakers who all had soft light accents haha
I actually loved this video even though I'm not that interested in math! :D It is always cool to learn new stuff and even cooler when you interact with the viewers by for example asking us to pronounce words/letters! Hi marianne, I remember being taught about Phi and the golden ratio at school and there is a great piece of info we were told which may be of interest to you! The Acropolis in Athens was made using this ratio as its width and length are perfectly set to it!
Can't deny I feel a little bad for mentioning it now as it would've really added to the video! Sorry! It really was an awesome video anyway tho, very informative and relaxing, thanx Marianne 😎
I use to love making graphs too! Weather maps to be exact. When I was a kid I play make believe that I was a meteorologist and would make the craziest of weather happen using many fans, water and my toys! :D It was fun!
ShinAtomoz Oh and thank you for this! This is the most informative Greek alphabet and it does add to my already abundant math skills too! I can't say it enough, but I really like your videos! I don't know what it is, but there's just something amazing about you that I can't quite put my finger on just yet! I just hope one day I get to meet you in person handshake and best of hugs! I see you are on Patreon and I hope that my contribution can help you in any way possible!
Hi! Just wanted to say that I love your videos. Your voice is very relaxing. I moved to an area that has alot of noise and had to take sleeping pills cause I haven't slept in four months. But since I've found your videos no more pills and able to fall asleep. Thank you.
my math language is without direction yet its like puzzle pieces, teaching an art that is without direction is without boundaries, most people need a mark to use like a crutch.
I'd like to thank you not only for helping me fall asleep tonight but for helping me remember which frats at my school are which. It's not always easy going to a party school hahaha

And, by the way, my name is Greek and now I know how to properly write it(Διμαs), thank you so much
I was always told that the actual D sound (not the "th") was "ντ" as in "Nτανιελ", so you would be "Ντιμας" I think!
Dan Dart Oh, i didn't know. Being my name greek, i thought it was like that originally
Yes, your name is Διμας. I'm Greek :)
You think wrong
dude if your parents are greek its Δήμας (its a greek last name), there is not Δ sounding letter in english so they write it D ("Th" can't be used because Thimas would sound like Θήμας or Θίμας). If you're not greek its Ντίμας because the "d" sound in greek is "ντ".

keep doing that is very good.
Hi marianne, I remember being taught about Phi and the golden ratio at school and there is a great piece of info we were told which may be of interest to you!
The Acropolis in Athens was made using this ratio as its width and length are perfectly set to it!
jimbo2075 I wish I knew that before. I would have talked about it in the video. thank you!!
ShinAtomoz Thank you very much for your comment, your message and your contribution! :D I really appreciate it
Hi! Just wanted to say that I love your videos. Your voice is very relaxing. I moved to an area that has alot of noise and had to take sleeping pills cause I haven't slept in four months. But since I've found your videos no more pills and able to fall asleep. Thank you.
Me encantaría que también hablaras español!!
Thank you for relax me everynight. I love your videos ! Greetings from Argentina !
Your voice is so lovely it's like a cross between Heather feather and whisper crystal it's heavenly!
This was really relaxing and informative :) please make more videos about Greek as it's so interesting x x
I liked the layout of the video. The camera is better when it's not so close sometimes. Especially for a teaching role play. Thanks!
my math language is without direction yet its like puzzle pieces, teaching an art that is without direction is without boundaries, most people need a mark to use like a crutch.
I'd like to thank you not only for helping me fall asleep tonight but for helping me remember which frats at my school are which. It's not always easy going to a party school hahaha
You must to be the most beautiful asmartist on earth. 😍😍
Can you email me on how you make your videos?? It's gdragonluva@gmail.com
Jai K Did you just put your email out here?
+Royal Viking sad part about it is I don't even remember doing that._.
Jai K yeah its a late response :S, you should remove it from there everyone can use it, just saying :)
