Bizarre coloring going on which was pretty distracting, rest of it was good though!
Mr. Metcalf won in the most important race of all, life!
Under today's rules Metcalfe would have won, to add to his unfortune, he ran the 200m in the 32 Games and they placed him at the WRONG starting line, he ran further than Tolan and was just nipped, he was the epitome of being the brides maid for sure, great man, great sprinter.
Metcalfe was offered the chance to have the 200 meter race re-run after officials discovered their error, but he declined because he didn't want to jeopardize the USA's sweep of the medals (he had finished third).

Metcalfe was clearly the winner in 1932.
The rules then in force stated the winner would be the one whose entire torso crossed the line first. In this race, Tolan's entire torso crossed the line before Metcalfe's. Under today's rules, Metcalfe would have been the winner.
Yeah, I agree.
Now imagine if they leaned
Honestly it looked like a dead tie to me
Dwight Stones was a high jumper not a long jumper.
This is like a vox video
Dwight Stones is a high jumper--little factual errors hurt your credibility
By a sad twist of fate, Metcalfe did eventually win a gold medal, in the 1936 4x100m relay, when the two Jewish sprinters who were supposed to run in that race were pulled at the last minute & replaced by Owens & Metcalfe. 🤦🏽♂️
Who made these videos (and others like them)? The bizarre colorization ruined them all.
