The same thing happens at the Outlets, but there's just so much crap there that a lot of good stuff slips through. I think the outlet is the single best option for sourcing for resellers out of anything I've ever done, including garage sales and flea markets. It takes time, but that place can be a goldmine. 90% of my sales comes from the outlets.
Stop it. Goodwill gets their inventory for 100% free. They profit millions and millions. Do you ever stop to think that "resellers" provide a service, example: selling items online to people that don't have access to a local Walmart, Target, Goodwill, etc?
1st time visiting your channel. I think the question of the vid is complicated, like most can be with the variables set with different folks and their objectives. Goodwill hunting for me has drastically slowed down, although i do visit them every now and then. From my experience as a consumer, not a reseller is that games have been very difficult to find in the wild. I have many things that i look at when thrifting, but games were the big thing for me when i visited the 1st thrift i can remember in 2018. Before 2020, I'm sure for multiple different reasons, things were a lot different, with prices, availability, etc. I do appreciate your responses in your comments. It's a tough business with the reseller gig. You see things from both perspectives, don't get lost in between, and give an accurate assessment of the topic at hand. Your consistent as well, sometimes can be difficult. You got a new sub. I am looking forward to more content, entertainment, and knowledge. ☝️💪🙌
They say overhead prices are increasing, and no doubt they have. Mainly, they’ve caught on to making more money selling valuables online and raising prices to 70-90% of the worth to prevent resellers from making profit off them. It is what it is
$.99 book omg. Here in Colorado every goodwill is 2.99 paper or hardback. CDs are 2.99 as well. DVDs also 2.99. Love this video. Very cool. It's just a matter of extreme luck here. I don't do clothes but it looks like 14 resellers got that covered at every store within 2 hrs of me. It's tough here but s bit better then Michigan (s.e. corner) where I started out.
Thanks for the FYI hookup on why electronics just seem to be an empty graveyard most of the time at the GW the last couple of years i noticed.. I always chalked it up to the employees who were snatching up the good merch before it was put out.. probably a mix of both
Man,,,,i was thrift store shopping before they became hip to the whole flipping sport,,I'm talking back in the mid 90's when you can find alot of vintage goods
Geez I can't even imagine back then. I started going around 2014 and there was Gameboys, vintage toys, and lots of records..but since about 2018 it's been getting harder and harder, prices going up, pickings getting slimmer.
Been this way for about 10 years i'd say. If they didn't send the good stuff to be sold online the backrooms would just be a brawl for employees and other resellers trying to backdoor stuff anyway.
The stupidest thing about Goodwill listing on their site..is how I live like three miles away from the Goodwill I bought online as auction and it's a regular Goodwil I frequent..but even contacting customer service I'm still required to pay/have it shipped although I could "kill two birds with one stone". "I can't just verify my order...even Target or frickin Wal-Mart does that.
That's my cut off point for most stuff. But movies and small books it's $11 because of media mail, but they upped the price just recently, so I might be pushing that to $15 too
I know someone who works at goodwill and his job is take out all valuable items from donations and upload them on to the goodwill auction site. It’s been like this for about 3yrs. resellers can’t get anything there anymore.
The paperback horror novel you found with the ripped cover, Night Stone, funny enough the author lived nearby me. Every time he would publish a book he would have a MASSIVE party. I was just a kid but I played travel baseball with his son so I would get an invite. Yes, horror authors are as weird as you might think they'd be. But the dude knew how to party.
I know one where the workers choose the best things for themselves and call a family member or friend to buy the things for a ridiculous price and then they sell it on eBay.
I dont even live in North Carolina but i recently visited my family there and went into that same Goodwill "grid" store and got some good deals. They had one of those pink nintendogs ds for like $40 and they sell for more like $100. They price most things pretty good but i noticed that all their accessories and gameboy/ds games were under priced. I actually went to most of the stores that you did in the video weirdly enough lol I found a big bag of toys in one store but I didnt really find much either, mostly got dvds and shirts. I only have 3 goodwill's near me and 2 of them are an hour away from me and I feel like I find more at those 3 stores then I did when I went to all the ones you did
My local goodwill is crazy. Literally retail and higher prices on regular crap. Levis jeans are $25-$35..... Any pair of shoes is a minimum of $25.00... Hardcover books... $7.00..
$7 for a hardcover is laughable. But yeah, that's what I've learned, every single store is different with prices. One store I didn't show had hardcover books at 45 cents each, another had them at $3.50. Makes no sense
My goodwill's, no games under $5 and they are all worth $1-$10 on ebay, they will not put out anything good. Same with dvd's & blurays, which are $3-$10 ea. Clothing is also all very expensive. I used to be able to get retro games about 5+ years ago, but it is all now pretty much just xbox360, ps3 shelfwear at $5 to $10 ea. Goodwill is a waste of time.
Something to keep an eye open for is if you’re going out hunting at garage sales or at thrift stores is a DVD box set called trailer Park boys dressed all over, there are two different box sets one of them is seasons 1-7 and the other one is seasons 1-9, seasons 1-7 Usually sells at around C$250 brand new, while used or preowned goes for C$160-C$190, Seasons 1-9 usually sells for C$200 brand new, and used those for C$150-C$160. Just from one reseller to another it’s something to keep your eye open for.
In the 1970’s and 80’s You could find quality guitars,Superman etc comics, beatle records etc for next to nothing.I once found a some very old 1930 comics.those days are gone forever😢
not for flipping purposes but just my own collection i’d still find some decent CDs at Goodwills up until about a year ago. And on east coast prices were still just 99¢. But lately I’m finding the selection dwindling.
A while back in like 2014 i got 3 copies of def jam ffny for $60 , 10 years later I’m sitting on about $650-700 but i love the game too much to sell any of them
that happened LONGGGG AGO...In Western CANADA GOODWILL and Value Village (Savers in USA) have high prices on a ton of stuff... GOODWILL even profiled me for swapping price tags ... let's just say they were in the wrong and they were full of frickin BULLSHIT ...
Social media ruined goodwill. Prior to resellers posting their videos and boasting, I was getting good deals and even finding deals on goodwill online. As more social media posts were made, goodwill caught on more and more. I literally use to by great guitars off their online at Awesome prices.
Few months back actually found Def Jam fight for Ny at a thrift store. Traded it for a black funtastic N64. Just have to live under the notion of finding their mistakes. Being courteous to the employees also helps a ton
Games that don’t give achievements not worth collecting just only fun to play and beat once with games that have achievements you can create another Xbox account and play over again and unlock all achievements I have about 10 Xbox accounts you can share you ultimate game pass account on 3 consoles PlayStation you can’t
I didn't want to accuse them of anything in the video, but I sometimes think that whole site is a scam and they have bots that bid up items. Stuff is selling higher than eBay a lot of times.
@@jaredhammon344 I've not sold any yet, but I have picked a few up just to branch out of my normal categories. I will look into that. Can you use a bubble mailer or poly bag for media mail?
Yes that's the main reason why it isn't worth it. Even If I would have found something for $1 and sold it for $100, that wouldn't even pay for the gas to go to each store in the first place.
Yes there is a lot of good stuff at pawn shops around me, but it's awkward to film in there since I'll be the only person in there most of the time hahaa
Before I did this I use to think that too, but then I started collecting stuff for myself and realized if it wasn't for resellers I would never be able to acquire so many rare collectibles I own. It takes a person to go out and actually put in the work and apply their knowledge to bring rare vintage stuff to market and make it available for us. If you work all week you don't have time to go out yourself, so somebody has to. And without resellers eBay would be a graveyard. For a lot of things, eBay is the ONLY place to get certain things. So imagine all that was gone. That would suck. But at the same time, I do understand the frustration towards resellers buying up every cheap thing, but usually only because i wanted it for myself and they got it first.
Here in Hickory goodwill posts the good stuff to ebay. It's fucking stupid. And what doesn't sell hits the shelved at the price ot didn't sell for on ebay
Goodwill stores are definitely dead for resellers. All the good stuff gets thrown online. The Goodwill outlets are probably a better option

Moral of the story, movies and shows are the only thing good will knows how to price (sometimes) !
Amazing quality as always! 💛
yep, I didn't want to buy JUST that, but I had no other choice sadly
Moral of the story is, Im relaxing at home on my day off work with the access of thousand of free games on my pc using emulators.
IT'S resellers that ruined thrifting!
Reminds me of that Eric Andre meme...

Goodwill is the God of resellers. The best and greatest reseller of them all.
Everything in your house was resold 3-4 times untill you got it

I'm in Canada and our goodwill stores hold auctions. They put the really good items behind the counter and in display cases and hold silent auctions.
That is very interesting, never heard of that!
Def jam fight for New York was one of the best fighting games ever. Awesome score.
The funny thing is that store had two copies of it!
Star wars books! Very rare to find that many in one place (I'm jealous). Great video 💯
