Am I the only person bothered by a diplomacy-savvy guy such as Ben Rhodes mispronouncing the name of the North Korean dictator, Kim Jong Un? It seems to me that Rhodes might have had some German training, and therefore is applying the German [j] to the letter J, which is not how it goes in Korean at all.
Until your comment, I honestly thought maybe he knew something I didn't. Then I heard a couple South Koreans say it and yeah, like, where did he get that? Because it wasn't from us, it wasn't from Korea. You might be onto something with the German training. Either way, I don't fault him too much for it, but it is odd.
