Elvis could sing any genre (R&B, Gospel, Blues, Pop, Country) and always make it his own. By the way; an honorable mention would have to be the song Surrender. listen how he hits that high note at the end
Totally agree, try 1977 June 21st Unchained Melody, he goes from at the beginning slurring his speech, totally stoned talking about the song, as soon as he touches the piano keys and starts singing he's a totally different man, he hits notes at the end when he goes into the "Oh my love and holds the notes for a good 5-6 seconds which is totally operatic and then hits falsetto at the end. Note: listen to the undubbed version of just Elvis and piano, no other instruments

Elvis had the most incredible sound even in his early stuff like: that’s all right mama, all shook up, don’t be cruel, heartbreak hotel, and a whole pile more. I recognized that when I was eleven years old. My father, said to me “son, I’ll give him a year and you won’t hear about him again.” Boy was that the greatest error ever, ever made! As a footnote though, my dad, bless his lovable heart, bought me all of these records and more. Love you dad. Will soon be joining you and we can revisit your comment and have a good laugh.
Respect for bringing up I'll Hold You In My Heart. I thought nobody knows this but me :D. It's a great and difficult performance. I find It Hurts Me to be vocally demanding, too.
Ill hold you in my heart is fantastic. Elvis plays the piano and starts the song spontaneously. The band starts up after him. Elvis is doing it in such a fantastic way that he gets the band completely into it. Listen to the drummer for example and how he smashes the drums towards the ending
I don’t think this amazing monster of the world of music was never trained, he was singing since he was 19 and no money. That’s is why he’s the king 👑 of Rock and Roll 🎸 🔥🔥🔥♥️ ELVIS FOREVER ♥️
So many people don't know or give him credit for how much great range he had . There will never be another Elvis . I will remember him until my last breath and then have him played at my memorial. Then I will see them all in heaven. Fly high beautiful Angels Elvis , Gladys, Vernon, Lisa Marie, and Benjamin.
Considering the time, and raw talent of all the musicians....there was NO tweeking, just filtering and base changes to get the sound right...these guys knew what they were doing, they were awesome.....Elvis had NO formal voice training, yet he had an "ear to decerne where and how the instruments should sound...this unbelievabke talen was given to him directly from God......and here is the proof, to what we have recognised as PURE raw talent....he was and always will be the best in my mind.........
Elvis is the best. I can listen to him all day . There is love in is voice. There is one song that have a high note at the end and that is ¨what now my love ¨ in Aloha from Hawaii , among many other songs .
the goat he gave all of himself not 1 or 2 hour concerts or shows he worked himself to no end 2 shows every night 6 nights in a row in Vegas there will never be anyone like him again thank God for Graceland and elvis radio
Yes but unfortunately that’s what killed him with all the prescription drugs to help him sleep and stay awake and all that work put too much stress on his body let alone the backup sewage he suffered from which led to his heart attack.
Elvis did 2 shows a night in Las Vegas 7 days a week. Sometimes 3 shows on Saturday for a month until 1975 when he finally started doing 2 weeks instead of a month. Too much for any artist especially the way he performed. Something had to give. His voice was simply untouchable by any artist. His performance was untouchable by any artist.
.Elvis presley possessed a chameleon voice. When you listen from the sun sessions thru to the end, you are treated to many different tones and shadings. His soul depth and diversity destroys anyone. Truly an iconic artist, the likes of which may never be seen again.
@MareShoop I suggest you get educated. The term chameleon refers to "changing". Just like the lizard changes colors, elvis presley's voice "changed" multiple times in his very short life. Got it low IQ boy?
Elvis has actually hit a c5 before in multiple songs and has sustained them for multiple seconds. I think when it comes to belting Elvis is unmatched in this category.
Tom Jones can belt, but as I often have to point out to the Jones fans, he's not even close to Elvis because he can in no way do the soft, beautiful love songs, and other genres, that Elvis was proficient in. It's the same with Freddie Mercury. They're not the total package like Elvis was!!!
Very cool video man. I've been "attracted" 😅to elvis presley for the last 6 months or so.. always thought he was put on a too high pedestal by the old timers... but good grief is there more to this man than just "HoUNd dOG"🥴 not taking anything away from that song... its just a bit overplayed. Very cool video man
i would say “if i can dream” deserves a spot up here because of the stress you have to put on your voice to hit the notes the way elvis did is near impossible
In the song Heart of Rome Elvis hits an A4 with chest voice 4 times in the last chorus. That song is a beast of a song to sing, I'm an Elvis Tribute Artist and I can sing pretty much all of his stuff with ease but Heart of Rome is one that I have tried and tried but not been able to get past the key change in the final chorus as on a good day I can reach G#4. All the choruses in that song Elvis is up in the rafters just belting it out, it's quite amazing. I highly recommend checking it out.
have you ever sung bridge over troubled water, surrender, you've lost that loving feeling, just pretend, unchained melody etc? if so, i'd love to know if you've uploaded them so i could have a listen!
Do you do the 'Sound of Your Cry?' It's such an awesome Elvis song and done far too little. God bless you, too, for keeping Elvis alive! Sincerely, Christopher Tyler
It's kinda cool to hear people who know music and notes and octaves and all that technical mumbo jumbo talk about how impressive Elvis was, but I dont think any of that ever really crossed his mind. I think he just belted it out and it was what it was....the best voice in history, imo.
React to the rehearsal version of what now my love, he went up a full 3 octaves and then just held the last note. Amazing singing with out auto tune or any other gadgets some singers use today
This is an impossible task. You made some incredible selections. Jailhouse Rock is very underrated as a difficult song to sing. His ability to sing both raspy and beautiful at the same time is amazing. Also, many don't take into consideration how precisely he sings every word and no word is wasted. Incredible. The 1961 original of Can't Help Falling in Love is a thousand times better than the 1969 (or any) versions. Other great selections would've been: Blue Moon, Such an Easy Question, Surrender, They Remind Me Too Much of You, Because of Love, Hurt (Live) and many others.
Blue Moon is amazing. Scotty Moore, his legendary original guitarist said his personal favorite vocal performance is Don´t -- wonderful stuff! The feeling and the phrasing -- Elvis was flawless
Great video could you tell me what note he hits on the song what now my love from aloha from Hawaii. Towards the end of that song. It sounds like three different octave thanks
@@CrazySinging the concert footage is on TH-cam the song what now my love. At 2:50 his last words are goodbye and he holds the note and it sounds like three different levels till 3:01 end of song
@@cdb989 I'm extremely sorry for the delay. Never got a notification. At 2:53 he hits an A4 which is incredibly high in this context. The last sustained note (Goodbye) is a G4, 2 semitones lower than the small bit I mentioned at 2:53
You mentioned that "Jailhouse Rock" was almost like rapping "Too much Monkey Business" or " A Little Less Conversation" are examples of what might be described as rap today. I think a song that really demonstrated how incredible Elvis's voice was is "What now my Love" from the "Alloha from Hawaii" concert. It was so spectacular that I believe that this is the moment that Elvis moved into the opera spectrum of singing, proving that he could sing absolutely anything.
Tom Jones kept telling us that Elvis couldn't hit the high notes , maybe Elvis just had to prove him wrong . Elvis had the most versatile voice range ever .
THIS was the most insightful comment posted (IMO) Elvis' vocals translate to make just any notes he sang come out perfectly. On top of that he infused his singing with such emotional authenticity it made the starts shine brighter. Never hurt that he was so handsome.
I don't think Elvis was a trained singer. He sang in church choirs until he left home for singing on the road and the Louisiana Hayride. His mastery of his voice is just his God-given talent.
surrender is a hard song, especially with the pace. so is unchained melody. to be honest, most elvis songs are hard to sing for most people because nobody is like elvis anyways!
I can hit every note here but that's only half the battle...its making it sound good too. Elvis did that in spades. My highest is Bb but that's my absolute limit...and I sound like a cat. Then there's consistency too. Some days I can hold and sustain a high A and other days my voice will just give up and give out every time. No way would I be able to go out on a stage night after night and have the confidence to even try some of his high notes. Elvis just went about nailing it whenever he wanted 😅. On top of this Elvis's range went even further. I'm pretty sure I heard him hitting a high C live. His voice was crazy.
Elvis admitted in an interview that he seldom sang "Kentucky Rain," because it was difficult. Not so much in high notes but in the varied tones required throughout the song. Worth checking for next time, Crazy Singing. Thanks for this one. Very informative & deserving of a more detailed analysis when possible. "Tomorrow Never Comes," yes, what a performance that was. A bolero-like song that just got more & more powerful to the crescendo.
Above all interesting comments ,I’m wondering that After 46 years of his death everybody talk about him like he is still alive.that’s impressive.also my self I listen Elvis every day
Look up Mystery Train by Greil Marcus -- acclaimed music critic. He wrote after Elvis died that he as a writer will never use the past tense when writing about him because Elvis ¨his presence is so powerful when you listen to him that death walks aways.¨
Hi, my friend and great job, while can you assess Elvis' live version of HURT from his 1977 TV special after he passed; also the LIVE 1975 version of 'You'll Never Walk Alone' while he'splaying piano; and finally his New Year's Eve 76/77 version of 'Rags to Riches,' where he plays piano, too. As I've now gone through his whole catalogue and I frankly don't know of anyone who can sing such sweet love ballads, with a beautiful falsetto like 'Sentimental Me,' yet at the same time have an incredibly deep voice when he wants, too, and demonstrated in so many other songs and genres. And it's more than just octaves as he has such incredible breath control, phrasing, and the ability to emote through that vocal cry he is able to do along with an amazing vibrato that he always keeps under control. When this man, quite literally, never took a singing lesson, though I do know he listened to an inordinate number of different styles and worked on his singing, in a number of areas, so as to give the types of performances we speak of. As all this must be why Placido Domingo said of all the voices in the world, if he could have had one, it would have been Elvis'. Also, my music teacher in college, when going through Sinatra and explaining how incredibly great his phrasing was, then said, "But Sinatra could never play in Elvis' playground, but Elvis could play in his, and I'll show you how." Then playing us Elvis' live 77' version of 'My Way' vs. Sinatra's and the class - to be honest - preferred Elvis' version by about a 2 - 1 margin. But the point the teacher was making that while one could take equal pleasure out of either one of the great versions of 'My Way,' Sinatra could never do 'Jailhouse Rock' justice or so many other Elvis songs. While at the start of the course, I didn't think all that much of Presley, but by the time I was done I realized he was seemingly a one-man quartet able to sing countertenor/treble, alto, tenor and bass. When if one goes back and listens to his early gospel album of 'How Great thou Art,' I've truly never heard such raw emotion literally pour through the vinyl, and I think, making Elvis the greatest gospel singer of all, as well. While he's certainly the greatest selling gospel singer of all time and if you listen to him or watch him sing gospel you can literally see he becomes transfigured in a sense. When Kathy Westmoreland who was Elvis' classically trained soprano singer said, to paraphrase, that "[h]e would literally reach for notes that should have been out of his range and that only a classically trained artist could hit, and yet somehow, he always got there."
Thank you for this great comment, that explains why Elvis is still so popular and reaches the hearts of people all over the world. He really was/is phenomenal!

Immortal 👑👑👑
He was the Goat a legend 👏👍
He is the King for a reason! ❤️Love this video thx for sharing!
That's Jesus Who is King.
Great singer
Sempre intocável! Voz Divina
Considering the time, and raw talent of all the musicians....there was NO tweeking, just filtering and base changes to get the sound right...these guys knew what they were doing, they were awesome.....Elvis had NO formal voice training, yet he had an "ear to decerne where and how the instruments should sound...this unbelievabke talen was given to him directly from God......and here is the proof, to what we have recognised as PURE raw talent....he was and always will be the best in my mind.........
greatest entetainer/vocalist of all time...thanks for this video !!!
A HUGE gift of GOD 🥇🕺🤩
Elvis is the best. I can listen to him all day . There is love in is voice. There is one song that have a high note at the end and that is ¨what now my love ¨ in Aloha from Hawaii , among many other songs .
No one touches Elvis!!!
Jake Rowley has the potential.
I nominate the song "If I Can Dream" 🎵🎶 by Elvis 😇❤️
the goat he gave all of himself not 1 or 2 hour concerts or shows he worked himself to no end 2 shows every night 6 nights in a row in Vegas there will never be anyone like him again thank God for Graceland and elvis radio
❤ Elvis forever
Love the video! Great choices, and, yes, is very difficult to choose! "You"ll never walk alone" and "Rags to Riches" are huge, too!
Elvis Presley is rare phenomenal, beautiful voice he can do baritone and tenor
Unchained melody live last performance and from that same show How Great Thou Art.
Best live vocal performance
FANTASTIC!!!!!
I’m glad you enjoyed it!!!
.Elvis presley possessed a chameleon voice.
When you listen from the sun sessions thru to the end, you are treated to many different tones and shadings. His soul depth and diversity destroys anyone.
Truly an iconic artist, the likes of which may never be seen again.
You say the same thing about his chameleon voice in lots of other YT videos. I suggest you look up the word chameleon.
@MareShoop
I suggest you get educated.
I heard this song when he had a live show in Savannah and it was awesome loved his raw talent!
I like when he sang ,you give me a mountain, so powerfull en with passion
Very cool video man. I've been "attracted" 😅to elvis presley for the last 6 months or so.. always thought he was put on a too high pedestal by the old timers... but good grief is there more to this man than just "HoUNd dOG"🥴 not taking anything away from that song... its just a bit overplayed.
Very cool video man
Most versatile artist n he could do amazing things with his voice
I'm one of those "old timers", and would just like to say, "told ya so, told ya so"❗ LOL 😉
Glad you're checking out his music!
" I DON'T SING LIKE NOBODY !!!!" Elvis, '56
He had the best voice ever in my view; hands down!!!
i would say “if i can dream” deserves a spot up here because of the stress you have to put on your voice to hit the notes the way elvis did is near impossible
Amazing! Thank you so much for sharing your experience. Your job sounds fascinating
have you ever sung bridge over troubled water, surrender, you've lost that loving feeling, just pretend, unchained melody etc? if so, i'd love to know if you've uploaded them so i could have a listen!
I Love Elvis Presley’s Music!!
Yeah! Tomorrow Never Comes. That’s one of my most favorite songs by Elvis.
I adore Elvis ❤️🔥
great video, btw, his song if i can dream is one of my favs and that for sure has to be one of the hardest ones to sing. What a voice, truly god-like.
There will never be another “Elvis”. We will never see the likes of him again.
React to the rehearsal version of what now my love, he went up a full 3 octaves and then just held the last note. Amazing singing with out auto tune or any other gadgets some singers use today
✪ Who’s your favorite singer? Choose the NEXT SINGER I should analyze like this - www.patreon.com/CrazySinging
The king 👑
The king forever 🤴🤴🤴
Great video could you tell me what note he hits on the song what now my love from aloha from Hawaii. Towards the end of that song. It sounds like three different octave thanks
Could you help me with a time stamp? I’ll happily analyze it for you
@@CrazySinging the concert footage is on TH-cam the song what now my love. At 2:50 his last words are goodbye and he holds the note and it sounds like three different levels till 3:01 end of song
@@cdb989 I'm extremely sorry for the delay. Never got a notification. At 2:53 he hits an A4 which is incredibly high in this context. The last sustained note (Goodbye) is a G4, 2 semitones lower than the small bit I mentioned at 2:53
Just a Great Piece of work !
Surrender also is a standout. No one has ever had his range.
@@andykyriakides2144 Who the hell is Tom Jones anyway! Some asshole who thought he'd move in on Pricilla. Some friend eh.
@@andykyriakides2144 i think it was more of a challenge from elvis's closest friend rather than an outright statement or criticism, haha.
THIS was the most insightful comment posted (IMO) Elvis' vocals translate to make just any notes he sang come out perfectly. On top of that he infused his singing with such emotional authenticity it made the starts shine brighter. Never hurt that he was so handsome.
@@vsibirsky Being so handsome was just a devilish trick god was playing on all of us -- keeping our ears and eyes busy
I don't think Elvis was a trained singer. He sang in church choirs until he left home for singing on the road and the Louisiana Hayride. His mastery of his voice is just his God-given talent.
We knew Elvis was great!
Elvis has a great operatic tone
Very interesting!
I’m surprised you didn’t have the end note of his song “Surrender” I’m sure that end note is very difficult to sing.
You are very right!
Or the whole song to be honest
surrender is a hard song, especially with the pace. so is unchained melody. to be honest, most elvis songs are hard to sing for most people because nobody is like elvis anyways!
Elvis Presley fue un barítono kavalier durante su juventud. En su madurez cambió a un barítono dramático. Él tuvo una voz privilegiada.
Elvis Presley - Hurt is a very hard song to sing
no auto tuner with the king not like todays sounds
Great job honoring the 👑
Traducir en español no entiendo inglés gracias por compartir canciones hermosas historias de ELVIS ❤ PRESLEY ❤FOREVER ÚNICO❤ 2023
Interesting study and research my friend! Grateful!! Daniel from Rio de Janeiro.
Hi, hey what about How do you think I feel, by Elvis
Elvis was literally channeling pure god energy and love through sound
Great video!👑🎶👏
Thank you so much!
King??
Many singers try to sing and can sing.,...... Elvis sing from nature he don,t have try to sing he was give by a goddis voice😊
Elvis and Patsy have incredible range.
I can’t believe you left out What Now My Love
Great editing and explanation. Beautiful, kind photo of Elvis. Thanks✌️👑👼♥️🫶🌞
Bless your heart! 💜
what about what now my love, and surrender?
Try the last line of "What Now My Love" from Aloha From Hawaii.
Thank you for this great comment!
Great Comment -- learned a lot
Thank you for this great comment, that explains why Elvis is still so popular and reaches the hearts of people all over the world. He really was/is phenomenal!
I always have realised his voice was the best
