Thank you, thank you, thank you! You don't know how long I have been trying to fix this leak. I've been dealing with water in my driver footwell on my '07 Passat for over a year and could not figure out where it was coming from until I recently found your video. After I removed the A-pillar trim panel, I tested with water just like you showed in your video and sure enough mine was leaking out of the hose connection just at the base of the dashboard. All I needed to do was poke the rubber drain hose with a long screwdriver and this dislodged the clog. I tested again and the water drains right out now.
I have a Passat R36 b6. My issue is on the passenger side. The whole floor is wet and when I opened the headliner and the pillar I saw that the drain hose on the passenger side was not entirely in on the corner like in your video. In my car it didnt even have that black plug that yours is connected to. Do you know if it should have that black plug on the passenger side? And also should the hose on the passenger go down on the side like the hose on your video? Would appreciate it if you could help me out a little bit because Im stuck at the moment and the only solution that I can come up with right now is to take out the whole dashboard panel to have access to see clearly and to fix this
had this blockage on my Passat B8 GTE, water then ran into my PHEV wiring loom at the bottom of the A-Pilar, resulting in up tot 2000€ worth of damage. because of this stupid plug and the lack of checking this at the dealership each time the car has to go in for routine check-ups. VW and AUDI know of this problem, the internet is FILLED with sunroof drain issues but the like the €€€ it provides i guess. I'm having my car repaired, the sold of. No VW for me anymore.
