Willow Springs International Raceway with the new asphalt on turns One through Six

WSIR has gotten new asphalt on a bit over half the track. My first reaction was how bumpy the exit of Turn Four was before the new asphalt. I needed to drive the new smooth version to fully realize the difference. Much of Turn One through Turn Six is the same smooth surface. You can even see the noticeable difference in shaking on my in-car camera from the exit of Turn Six through Turn Eight and the front straight compared to Turn One through Six. Don't be fooled by the dark asphalt on the rest of the track. It has only had new sealant applied, not re-asphalted.

I'm going to miss that big divot in the middle of the track at the entrance of Turn 2. I used to line up my approach with it!

Yeah, I bounced the rev limiter there for a split second as I turned in. I don't think I have done that before.

Turn One through six is a genuine repave. Turn Seven to Turn One is new sealant only.

Nice lap! Why did they leave out the 2 turns that need repaving? Turns 8 (super bumpy) and 9 ??

Already breaking up in 3 and 5 and is really bumpy through 8. All things considered this was a pretty crummy job of paving and slurry coating. The old man would never have signed off on this.

Yes, I tested there a couple of Fridays ago. Turn Three just past the apex was seriously deteriorating.

I was there today testing all the areas that were breaking down have been repaved and are in perfect shape.@@AlvakaNet

Something tells me they wouldn't have spent the money and done the job that Laguna Seca did.
