I truly wish I could forget both the show and the music, just so I could go back and witness it all again like it was my first time. All of it's perfect.

I'm on Season 4, Episode 18 right now. My brother watched it when I was in middle school, so I saw bits and pieces. But watching the show as a whole has been an amazing experience. I haven't even finished the show and I almost wish I could also go back in time and watch it all again for the first time. The show is an absolute masterpiece and it is, hands down, the best show I have ever seen.

I took piano from the ages of 7 to 12. And I quit because I hated it. Now as an adult, I realize the error. The music Bear McCreary composed for BSG has inspired me to relearn the art. So far I have learned most of 'Roslin and Adama', and have now worked up to several bars of this beast.
So Mr McCreary, on the off chance you happen to read this, I would like to thank you for inspiring me, with your music, to take up the piano once again.
Like others here, this is perhaps my favourite piece from the show. To steal a suggestion from another user, listen to this when it's raining, or even better, when there's a thunderstorm.
Equal parts dark and foreboding, but also meditative and moving. It has this emotional weight to it which demands your attention. But then once it has you, it lets you drift in your own thoughts. I lack the words here to describe just how much this piece affects me. It makes me feel...human.
It's a couple of weeks before 2022, and this song is still incredible. It is timeless. For BSG fans, it will always evoke emotions. For everyone else, it is just damn good music.

Thank you Bear for such an amazing piece of music. I've listened to this one hundreds of times, its one of the most emotionally moving pieces I've ever heard in my life. The sense of foreboding, and future doom, the sense of impeding collapse, and a sense of dread for the future, almost a sense of necessary, pre-destined decline and sorrow, is just baked into the piece, and it truly fit the episodes of BSG perfectly. And certainly my life at that time, when things were falling apart. But also, there was a knowledge that it must happen this way, and destruction must come, for rebirth to surface. Brilliant. Thank you so much. It will always be a part of my story.

Everytime i star watching Bear again, i can't stop watching and for most, listening. The show i've seen carefully and many times and there is no serie or film in in the world in wich the music is so woven together and become as 1 with the show. This masterpiece, i will never forget.

Still my favourite all-time composition with the differently sentient being a close second. This is both simple and at the same time complex with the base notes both fighting against and then working with the lighter ones. Then to have the sudden shift at 3:18, this entire composition is a work of genius

Indeed... this song really is right in the middle of the series, sort of as a bookend between the first and second half of the show. I've come to really think of it as capturing the full character of the entire show. It's one of my favs.

Not only does this song encapsulate everything about BSG that is so compelling, but it captures the essence of what it means to be human. This may sound just maudlin and silly, but Bear, this piece connects me with life in ways unspeakable... a life-changing song, if you will.

Yeah, i second that! Thanks to the Bear, after more than 22 years of last having had a mentor, i today had my first real piano lesson and the teacher agreed to do "Roslin & Adama" with me. In fact, we'll do the whole songbook as my journey back into piano. The Bear is great. He shall peacefully rule planet score and some day perhaps share a room with the Zimmer, to teach him "the other side of the art" :))

Every time I hear this song ,it seems to just pull the listener in.On the full version(starting with the bass) was intense with the heavy reverb on the guitar as to build up the song as it's played out.Nicly done.I'm reminded of Murry Gold's (composer for Doctor Who)Doomsday theme .Bear McCreary and Murry Gold write music that is like a magnet to listeners in the sense that the soundtracks coupled with their respective shows are as important as the dialog in their scripts.
Battlestar Galactica is not only a beautiful show with a beautiful theme, and great actors, and BRILLIANT music, it also has the best fans, in the world.
Oh and my favorite quote (from the miniseries):
'You cannot play God then wash your hands of the things that you've created. Sooner or later, the day comes when you can't hide from the things that you've done anymore. '
