Having been to India I can attest to the questionable practices of Yoga.

I finally got in to empty mind meditation.
After a few months of regular practice and some amazingly physical reactions, I experienced a sensation that felt like a mouse running up my back.
I jumped up and examined the chair. No possibility of mouse.
Apparently that was some sort of kundalini experience.
I became unsure what I was allowing in.
I stopped the practice.
Sometimes I meditate on Jesus, just his face or sacred heart… I don’t think it’s good to empty the mind completely- you just need to tune out the chatter.
I spent years in India - I have a lot of lovely statues…
I guess they’re going to have to go if I’m considering becoming Catholic.
I never worshipped them.
They’re just a collection, but something tells me it’s time to relocate them.
All I want now is a nice Jesus picture and a rosary.

My son married a non Catholic. He had left the church years before. The wife loves yoga. We lost our son and his family almost 6 years ago, after issues came up and I attribute some of it to her yoga and crystal practices. We pray daily for his and her conversion and for protection of their child. O Mary conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee.❣🙏
@@susankovach8927 I am.sorry about the family situation. I was getting more distant as well, actually my mom told me that this week. What has kept me afloat was a strong connection to God since I was little and when I was 13 He helped me with family stress.

Our Assistant Priest runs Yoga classes each week and I’m thinking of mentioning it to the Bishop.
Have a conversation with that priest first dont just run to the bishop. Make sure you understand why Catholics cant do yoga. (Hint : it's not the postures that are problem)

Though Liberation in the Catholic tradition has been met with 'heresy' cries, because its a pharasiac system, a hierarchy of control, not a path to Salve-ation/Moksha and why only us hermetic type truth seekers, yogis and mystics find it, in being actually Realised by God, away from religion.
I myself was doing a lot of reading on a variety of topics. When I learned about all the CHILDREN SEXUAL ABUSE that was occurring and the VATICAN covering it all up I became very disgusted and disappointed. So I read a lot in relation to spirituality. During my research I was picking up these thoughts in relation to all these practices that began to concern me.
How easily these things were being used to promote people to do forms of worshipping deities without even knowing it. To be chanting WORDS (SWORD) to connect with energies outside ourselves. Indeed it is a way if conjuring and communicating with spirits. They actually say how we can connect with our Ancestors, Guardian Angels and past lives since they believe in reincarnation.
On account of the amount of information that has been kept HIDDEN from us INTENTIONALLY that is how easily people are manipulated into practicing something that they have NO IDEA OR HAD ANY INTENTIONS OF DOING.
May God our FATHER and Jesus Christ our Lord and SAVIOR guide bless and protect us from them within our own GOVERNMENTS and these entities that exist as we fulfill our lifes MISSIONS I pray Amen

As a former “new ager”, I practiced and enjoyed yoga for about 15yrs.
I was also introduced to
Zen meditation and practice through an experiential class offered while I was in college.
“Mindfulness exercise” is another therapeutic method regularly facilitated by mental health practitioners. Be aware.

May I ask you to please ask Jesus to convert my daughter-in-law, Abigail? She loves yoga & crystals. She has Buddha statues also. Our son left the Catholic Church years ago. He is clueless. He was not happy with us telling him what we heard about yoga several years ago. He trusts her. They have a 9 year old we have been cut off from for nearly 6 years. I take her birthday and Christmas gifts and leave them at the backdoor. After praying on the ride there after Christmas I got to see her for about 15 seconds. She was outside the door with their barking dogs. I gave her the gift and she accepted but she never looked at me for a second. We had a very close relationship with her until she was 3 and a half. We want Abigail, Nathan and Elizabeth all to be saved. I believe they will be but wish for true conversion soon

And they tried to Sneak in Meditation in Public schools claiming it was secular meditation. And we used the laws they used to throw the Bible out against them.
They have fully embraced meditation and new age in the "medical health" field.
While teaching in the public schools, the women teachers would get together for weekly Yoga classes and exercises. All were invited. I was asked to attend more than once, but ignored it. Since that time, I’ve retired. No interest in participating in the Hindu religion. While attending the Catholic schools in the 70’s, part of our gym class had Yoga requirements. I simply went to my family doctor and requested an excuse from gym which I received actually for another reason. The doctor asked why so many students were coming to him asking for gym excuses! No one wanted to practice the Hindu religion! This did fade away in gym class. People need to take a stand and refuse to participate!
I did p90x and they had one " yoga" video ( meatheads doing extreme stregnth/stretching) I became an instructor and thought I was " ok" because I publicly refused the chants and prayers in front of class. A guest instructor came. Colors appeared over her head and basically flew at my face and knocked me out. Done.
People make these kids of claims. And One of two scenarios must be true. People are lying about it, or I must be immune to whatever magic they are using. I dare your guest to try any such color spray at me.
I believe you. I have seen some wonderful visions and some ugly ones. Anything is possible. The supernatural is real.

So what’s the difference between stretching and yoga? Right now you are doing chair pose. Not well, but you are doing a yoga position. How are you not practicing another religion? When does a forward fold become religious? What about a back bend. I see Priests doing yoga when they elevate the Host.
When you give money and attend a class that teaches you yoga. Don't give money to evil.
There is so much misinformation in this. It is hard to know where to start. When you get injured and have to go to a physical therapist. Do you know where most of their techniques come from? I read a book on transcendental meditation and can't sleep without zooming thru the cosmos anymore. You can't turn it off when you've left your body once.

People fall into the idea that bc they don't intend yoga as a spiritual practice, it is just stretching. imo, it stems from a false sense of confidence (pride) that they can "handle" doing yoga without it being anything spiritual. Just like people think they can "handle" watching movies (or newscasts, media clips), reading books, listening to music that glorify (or even just contain) excessive violence, sex, profanity and blasphemy... it's a lack of understanding of how the brain works in unison with other systems of our body, a lack of understanding of the spiritual realm, lack of discernment and wisdom, and a lack of understanding of Church teaching, but really it's a simple lack of humility. Pride has been our downfall from the beginning. Satan tempts by flattering us into thinking we can do these actions bc we've evolved into superior humans who can "handle" it without consequences.
side note, just my opinion, maybe not popular, but I'll say it... reading about child sexual abuse or satanic ritual abuse takes a physical, mental and spiritual toll. Looking into the face of evil has a consequence. This is also true of historical accounts of war, famine, tyranny, written or video, and even, The Passion of the Christ. There are consequences. Some of these we watch or read anyway bc of the importance of gaining knowledge and wisdom, but it is never without consequence. We are created with memory and imagination, best not to underestimate the power these hold as we take in the fallen world we live in.

We live in India. Even Catholic schools and priests have adopted Yoga in schools as PE, and parents like me have to tell them my child will not participate. And we are consider as being overly religious

Ok this is some religious fanaticism. “If you’re Catholic you can only do one religion”. “Have been possessed by demons from yoga.” This is wild.
It was hard for me to accept this even after I developed a relationship with Jesus Christ just a couple years ago (I grew up Christian but didn’t have a relationship with Jesus). Once I accepted Jesus Christ, it took a year to understand why yoga isn’t Christian. Now I know why I had to end the TWO Yoga Teacher Trainings I did 15 years apart. They both ended because of long term physical illness. I know now that God was watching me.

If you’re possessed by demons by stretching, you’re doing more than just stretching. A Christian of the SDA persuasion tried to tell me yoga was evil. I said I only do the physical part, not the spiritual nonsense. I also said how can movement be evil if god gave us the ability to do the movement? Anyway, I never took it seriously, wish I would have, my body would have thanked me for it. Wait till the Christians realize they do occultism practices too.
Yoga cannot be separated from its pagan Hindu roots. Good is good and evil is evil. Properly practicing and holy Christians don't partake in the occult.

Many Indian Catholic priests have gone on to do PhDs on Yoga and establish Catholic yoga centres.

Yes, I've (initially) made a few people upset by telling them that their yoga classes were actually practicing Hinduism, whether they knew it or not. It was difficult for me to tell them at first, but they also appreciated me saying so. The one friend I told was teaching yoga at our church. They were experiencing some bad things at home. We all need to call out evil. It pays to listen to actual Catholic exorcists. The world has been tricked into saying yes far too many times to the evil schemes of Satan. Abortion is one of the biggest lies. Pray and fast for God's forgiveness and mercy.

Yogic exercises are more or less physical or mental exercises . Say for example in Raja yoga, you repeat a Sloka " Jesus Christ Son of God , have mercy on me a sinner. " is it wrong . So if I use Pranayama and I breath in and say" Jesus Christ Son of God " and breath out and say " have mercy on me a sinner " is it wrong ? If I use Asanas like Surya namaskar to Adore Christ is it wrong ? There is a yoga called Saddhanan Yoga to focus on Jesus Christ. Say for e.g. lie down on tbe bed on your back and think that you are dead and you come before the Presence of Jesus, and His Judgement, how do you stand before His Presence. Is it wrong .

Dharna- to understand and attain the things told
Dhyan- meditation
Samadhi- a condition of body where it is no longer in State of materialistic accessory but rather a spritual thing

@@ByronTexas there are only 5 postures listed in the ancient yoga text. They are all seated postures with the intention of preparing one for meditation. The warrior,down dog etc were made popular 200 years ago, were taken from military and gymnastic exercises. So yoga doesnt own them. Yoga was around far before Hindu was ever a religion.
The Hindu religion picked up yoga later on down the road.
The Hindu religion made up specific poses named after their gods.
So yoga in and of itself is not demonic and is not spiritual.
Most yoga classes that you in counter today are not spiritual. They are just different stretches and poses.
I think people in a class of stretching loosely call it yoga when it isn't. Just because you call something yoga doesn't make it so unless you're going full bore religious with it as referring to yourself as a yogi. I use some of the stretches for my back and for working out but I am not a yogi. The only thoughts entering my mind during pre/post workout stretch is am I having a protein shake with my blueberry pancakes or not.

It's your INTENT. If you go about it as spiritual practice, chanting etc. then no. Stretching on a mat - postures might come from yoga but they're just exercises.

Yeah, it is a religious practice. Yoga means unity and it's in relation to "union (connection) with God". That's the traditional Ashtanga Bhakti Yoga. You and everyone else here know the surface, cursory Wikipedia information about it, but you don't know yoga. Because mind you, Irish *catholic* monks practiced a form of yoga. They went to Iceland and other places to meditate and perform austerities in caves and sacred places, this tradition then still survived centuries after (but unfortunately got tainted in terms of motivation) amongst later settlers. Yoga is a practice of restricting the senses to know the soul self in relation to God, which is ever loving service to God. The methods can be used for other things if the individual is motivated by other things (since you go to and become like unto whatever you focus your awareness and being upon), and that's why different results come to those who have different motivations. Want to know yourself? Pay attention to yourself. Want to know God? Pay attention to God. Want to childishly optain powers? Pay attention to mystical powers. So monks and Christian mystics used to do this for centuries too (maybe without the stretching part but that's the most base and "least important" part of Yoga) to understand and *know* God. Maybe try to actually understand other traditions in good faith and fairness before you start bashing them, you'll understand your own better.
P. S. Those possessed people were 100% new agers who had no idea what they were doing and egoically thought themselves to be God, thus attracting demons. Have a demonic nature, you attract them. Ill (ill informed at least) motivations in other words.

I used to take heated yoga classes. I prayed to Jesus the entire time & purposefully avoided the resonance of the room. I didnt realize how spiritual it was at the time but had a natural need to pray before during & after. I loved the intense exercise & strength training in a heated enviroment. It was extremely detoxifying & theraputic. I went worked out, showered & left. I didnt socialize. I stayed away from the wierd parts. It is dangerous ground & im grateful i was protected but i wouldnt take that protection for granted. I can stretch, do cardio & use the hot tub & sauna for detoxifying. I dont only have to go to a Bickram class to get it. Also, watch a documentary on Mr Bickram. You will never doubt the evil in yoga again.
Martial Arts can be viewed as a religion too.. look for the white callused knuckles from breaking boards and bricks.

Many historians will attest that Jesus did learn and practice yoga when he was traveling at an earlier point in his life.
