I am student of origin of words. Up to 60s and before the lyrics and dialogs of Hindi movies were mostly Hindustani a language understood by North Indians and people of Mumbai! But after 90s the lyrics, dialogs and even name movies was beyond pure Urdu. Some words are Persians and Arabic not understood even by people of UP !! This are the words used by Pakistani academics not even understood by Lahoris who speak Punjabi!

I am student of origin of words. Up to 60s and before the lyrics and dialogs of Hindi movies were mostly Hindustani a language understood by North Indians and people of Mumbai! But after 90s the lyrics, dialogs and even name movies was beyond pure Urdu. Some words are Persians and Arabic not understood even by people of UP !! This are the words used by Pakistani academics not even understood by Lahoris who speak Punjabi!
There is no language named Hindustani. That forced term was another attempt to normalize use of Urdu instead of Hindi.
