You’ve had all this time to just watch Beast Wars and see why it was so popular and you have failed. They transformed into animals because they are from the future Cybertron after Optimus defeated Megaton but prehistoric earth had too much ambient energon radiation -the animal was adapted and acted as shielding because they could only remain in robot form indefinitely at home base, plus in prehistoric times cars are not a disguise and in the beginning the animals were pure organic, later metallized as “transmetal” for toyetic reasons
This video is almost two years old. I don't play the game anymore. A while ago, I did look to see why lots of people love Beast Wars. Article on Wikipedia says it won an Emmy. Good writing was also mentioned. But unfortunately, I don't think the animation holds up. The 1990s had that switch from 2D animation to 3D animation. There are video games that I enjoyed back then, but I don't like them today, simply because the graphics are so dated. Also, I just like the vehicles better. That's what made the original Transformers cool. It was a big part of the pop culture back in the Cold War… James Bond, Knight Rider, and Transformers! TRANSFORMERS: Tactical Arena had a chance to generate new excitement with Beast Wars, but those three cards were amongst the worst in the game. The level design wasn't my favorite either. I don't know how the cards are balanced today, so I don't know if they got better. They were fixable cards. With Graviton Nexus being so dominate, Optimal Optimus was at too big of a disadvantage. It's too bad the game couldn't just simplify the cards. There were 73 when I stopped playing. That's too many. It doesn't make sense to have Galvatron on the same team… or even in the same arena …as Megatron. I ended up playing Transformers: Devastation and it's a great game. It's pure G1 Transformers, nice story, nice graphics, and it was lots of fun to play. So, that was a nice way to move on from this game. The game was cheap too! But even with that said, I still think TRANSFORMERS: Tactical Arena is salvageable. Since Red Games Co. launched Solitaire Stories on Apple Vision Pro, I think TRANSFORMERS: Tactical Arena could translate well to Augmented Reality. Imagine… a stadium full of people, looking at an empty field. But with AR glasses or AR smartphones, the battle could be seen. That's eSports at an epic level! I mainly played this game for the AI battles. That was a lot of fun. I think that was a better experience than the PvP battles, as the computer launches such an overwhelming force. That's where extremely creative strategies are needed to win. With the news about the successor to the Nintendo Switch, I think it would be cool if Red Games Co. moved away from the in-app purchases and just launched a normal game… one with a PvE mode and story, while expanding PvP for those that enjoy it. But considering how abruptly (and how early) the game left Apple Arcade, I simply let my subscription expire. I like the idea of no ads, no in-app purchases, and the emphasis on privacy, so I just stopped playing the game. Respect the players! That's what ultimately went wrong with TRANSFORMERS: Tactical Arena.
@@PhoticsTV thanks for the reply. I know the video is over a year old but it’s new to me. I’ve been playing for 7 days. As long as the video is posted it will be new to new viewers. But I was just talking about Beast Wars. In transformers you may like the cars and planes but not everyone has a vehicle mode for transportation. Some are just cassette decks or boom boxes -the point is disguise. And Mainframe and Beast Wars were cutting edge first shows in full CGI.
So in short Randomiser can help. Level cap should usually be decided and finalised before launch New characters may impede levelling up of favourites Design should try to be easy on the eyes You ever heard of Beast Wars? The Maximals and Predacons all are cybetronians, descended from the Autobots and Decepticons respectively. They all go to prehistoric Earth and due to the hazardous levels of Energon radiation, they end up having to scan the world for alternate modes, this time, being the animals there, so that they can be shielded from the radiation. I don't play this game but I'll give it around 4.9 to 5.8/10. Hopefully prehistoric earth can be a little less glaring. Sure, the developers may need time to think of better updates, but I think it's the conceptualisers who may need a "Hello?! Hello?!? Anybody home? Huh? Think, buddy, think!"
I've been reading about Beast Wars. It was a late 90s thing. Apparently, it was good (as it won an Emmy) and might part of a Transformers movie (Transformers: Rise of the Beasts) next year. But wow, I don't think it aged well. I still rate this game 9.5 out of 10. It's just super fun to play.
@@thaddaeuswong3574 Oh, well, the update is hit-or-miss. The level grinding really takes away from the fun. Like those new drones, they add a lot of excitement to the battle. (They cute too!) Unfortunately, mine are only level 5, so they don't help as much as they should.
@@PhoticsTV Beast Wars is loved for its writing, as it’s seen as one of the best written Transformers shows over a forty year timespan. Just because the computer graphics haven’t aged the best, (they were rather quite good for the time,) doesn’t mean it’s not worth while.
This update would have been so much better if it had been divided into two updates, with Velocitron and Scorponok buff being added a month ago, and the new level cap, Maximal units, and Pre-Historic Earth being added a month later, which would be a few days ago. I hope Red Games Co. doesn't make the same mistake again and keeps updates smaller and more frequent. Adding two arenas in one update was not a good decision and forced me to start a new second save that I have to level up through now just to see Velocitron, and it also gives me a break from tearing my hair out when I'm fighting Level 9 bots. I love this game and await every update with great anticipation, I love the new units being added like Airazor and Cheetor, Scorponok, Trailbreaker, Sunstreaker, etc., but it doesn't feel good to experiment with them when even what you are used to using doesn't work anymore.
That is one of the problems that I didn't mention in this video. The Velocitron changes should have been their own update. I suspect that version 1.6 was purposely made a larger update to have Apple promote it. As for starting over to see Velocitron, you probably don't have to do that. On the r/TransformersTactical subreddit, Red Games Co. mentioned that a level randomizer is on the way… _“ Our next update will include a new option for players to battle in any unlocked/achieved arena (similar to music tracks).”_ old.reddit.com/r/TransformersTactical/comments/xibn3z/what_when_wrong_with_the_transformers_tactical/iphrxzy/
@@PhoticsTV Ah, great. Those are some good changes coming up. I’m glad to see the development team still cares. But I’m still pissed off that they released Optimal Optimus as the Mega Knight of Transformers Tactical Arena instead of Lugnut like I wanted to happen 😢. They can still add Lugnut, for 7 Energon instead of 8, he would do the smash attack and the forward leap just like Optimal Optimus, but he was also have a splash attack as his regular attack, while Optimal Optimus can hit only one target at a time. This would make Lugnut as an alternative to using Optimal Optimus, or maybe even countering him, he would have only one mode to play with, and he would be a new Decepticon character. Please spread the word because Lugnut is my favorite Transformers character and I really want to see him added to this game, he would fit right in. Another one I was thinking about would be Galvatron as Inferno Dragon, basically a mobile weaker Fusion Beam Turret.
