Marketing Suggestion to help explain and sell this to European consumers - People may want to upgrade the battery modules in their Nissan leaf or use the nissan leaf for DIY ev conversion. So if you can , it would help to show how these replace the OEM batteries and what capacity they are relative to the OEM battery. Thank you!

I believe the OEM cell configuration for the Leaf is as follows:
- the 2011-2015 (24 kWh) Leaf has 192 pouch cells that are 33.1 Ah each (Cell arrangement is 96S-2P)
- the 2016-2017 (30 kWh) Leaf has 192 pouch cells that are 42 Ah each (Cell arrangement is 96S-2P)
- the 2018-2023 (40 kWh) Leaf has 192 pouch cells that are 56.3 Ah each (Cell arrangement is 96S-2P)
- the 2019-2023 (62 kWh) Leaf has 288 pouch cells that are 58.3 Ah each (Cell arrangement is 96S-3P)
This means that you would not be able to use the Leaf's OEM BMS with these CATL modules. Certainly not a deal breaker but it means a custom BMS will need to be designed. Hopefully Starmax will offer their own BMS or information that will allow for a custom BMS to be made. Using 27 these 43.4V (53Ah) Starmax modules in a 9S-3P arrangement would create a 62kWh battery pack. Hopefully a mechanical engineer trained in packaging can find a way to make these fit in a Leaf OEM battery case. If the module prices continue to fall I'll be tempted to design a custom BMS for this myself.
