in this video i show you how to simply swap out your factory climate control unit to a newer nicer looking climate control unit from an w207 e class
my model is a 2010 and i used a 2014 w207 e class climate unit as long as the plug are the same everything will work as per usual
you can also use units off a w212 as well so long as the plugs are the same this is such an easy mod and well worth it to me...
yes there is a bit of modifying that is needed such as trimming your w204 climate control surround and also trimming the w207 e class climate control unit as well but its something very doable by anyone
i show exactly what i did in order to get it to fit nice and snug no need to use glue or any kind of adhesive to make it stay and stick...
the way i show you , you even have the choice of leaving it the way that it is or after you can choose to cover up the remaining holes any way you choose the choice would be yours..
everyone will go about this project differently but my purpose of this video was to show you can do it and swap them out and still be able to use the functions like normal...
except for one particular function as showed in the video which was the direction of air to the face and feet at the same time...
but apart from that everything else is perfect
here is the part i used but you can also use a unit off a w212 model also it came off a 2014 MERCEDES E-CLASS W207 COUPE 2.2 AMG SPORT

Nice Job, I'd add a rubber stick on door trim, (Chrome, etc.) Placing it all the way around the opening and closing off the round opening.
yep just working on it now used a mouable like putty that goes hard in 20mins and once it goes hard i will trim it down and sand it to be flush with the surround bezel and then wrap in carbon fiber again..if this doesnt work i will do the 2 part plastic or try your way
was considering buying a W204, but didn't do it since i hated the looks of the climate unit. So i bought an E250 W212 instead and got the good looking climate unit
is the climate control unit like this or different ?
The W204 facelift climate controls in my car is secured by screws in each top corner of the unit. So easy said than done cos I had to remove the headunit to access the screws. I'm fitting the W212 climate controls in mine. As for losing the forward and down flow option, you can fix it by changing the number of flow modes available in Xentry coding.
ye I figured that out later .. I haven't had much time to play with xentry as yet but will be doing that soon enough...and ye I've seen then with screws in each corner .. what model do u have
Love your info great breakdown on how thank you ,if you could u give any info on a rear sam that controles rear light bulbs they are giving a fault warning then some times there ok like to day if u have info b very thankful i know some one could say buy a new one on old age pension easy and cheap to push the reset button ,thank you
Ok so wen ur rear tail lights keep throwing codes be sure u check the plug connector .... especially the ground wire... mercedes w204 infamous for tail light brown ground wire to cause faults - dimm tail light n throw codes.... i did a video about creating a new ground connection to help solve the issue

Good effort - you still have to work on that facia to make it look flush - build up 2 part plastic adhesive, then sand it down and then cover it with carbon fiber wrap.
Ye i still gotta work on that ... will be doing a video on when i make it work... what did u mean by two part plastic adhesive?
@@MIKEYZVLOGZ Hi - there are 2 component adhesives which need to be mixed into a putty like compound which after some time gets hard (plastic like) and can be sanded down. Bison/Loctite and other manufacturers have this type of 2 compound adhesive. By the way - you are welcome to visit my channel.

Can you install Mercedes counters? Original Mercedes-Benz S-Class Combi Instrument Digital Speedometer A2229006506 on a Mercedes w204, there is a similarity between them
usually it comes down to if the plug is the same and if it can be coded to match.. and also will it fit in the dash when u say counters do u mean the dash area of the car like the centre console and dash area ? like radio etc? ... I know that it can be done I've seen w203s do it from older to newer and w204s too ... I'm not sure about c class to s class ... u have to ensure the mounts can line up and the frame is the same..
W212 fits in perfectly no modifications tho and looks similar
really??? as in the surrounding bezel sits in and clips in perfectly?
@@MIKEYZVLOGZ sure does my man if you google it you can see it I noticed a few months ago someone on the w204 page on facebook had done it I will have a look for a link and send you it looks really neat and gets rid of those turny knobs
@@seanrichards2962 u sure that fits ? I have a prefacelift so the surrounding bezel isn't the same shape ..it has a triangle point in it which is why I couldn't use the surround... ur showing me a facelift model maybe for the facelift its the same surround but not for the prefacelift look at my video again where I show the difference in surrounds u can clearly see the triangular point on top ... and cuz u need to use the standard surround thats why I had to do what I did.. trust me if there was a way I could have avoided all that I would have
@@MIKEYZVLOGZ ahhh I’m with you mate mines is a facelift model 2014 the surround is a different shape it does not have that v at the top it’s just straight

It looks cool but it obviously doesn’t look nice. You might want to find an alternative or a perfect fit that will replace that vessel to get rid of those gaps.
Yes once i fix all the gaps it will look much nicer .... just a matter of filling in the gaps...and then rewrapping the surround...just wanted to show how to fit it and next will modify the surround completely so it looks loke it was made for it....
You should just re vinyl the housing covering over the holes

@@MIKEYZVLOGZ i just bought that ac control unit already and tried to plug 3 jacks in... basically its works but i've got some trouble about the buttons on the new ac control... my car have android screen and its jump between old screen and android screen when i touch the new ac control buttons... idk its normal or my new ac control have trouble?
@@ranasticgaming919 umm that sounds very strange it shoudl not do that, there mioght be a loose cable or something, check fuses relating to both ac unit and relays too, check also fuses and relays relating to screen and screen , never hqad this happen so cant verify what the issue is, its a matter of diagnosing and troubleshooting, try and think back to wen it all worked and wat u changed recently thart caused it

you should fill up those gaps with plastic steel , reshape them according to the new control then wrap it up or better still spray it and hydro dip to carbon or else it looks horrible.
ye I was going to use resin that goes hard but I settled for an epoxy style putty and it turned out ok... this video was just to show that it works and can be done .. in the second part I fill the gaps with a waterproof type of poly ... not the best but came out nice..but good tip ... now others can do what u said and give it a go ... will definitely look much better

i realy dont know but ill try to activate it with the xentry program..it just stp working once i changed it over

@@moonmc1047 i have just got the openport device thaT ALLOWS YOU TO ACCESS XENTRY And vediamo using A passthru i have every intention in doing that video ... just have a few others to do first
i have never gone to mercedes for anything aPART FROM THE recall for takata airbags ... i will have a look in xentry and see if i can get the direction of air to come back using the program ..but im still very greeen to the program i only recently acquired it ..so gimme some time to learn and i will share my experiences

Mikey-love all your videos but this one is a dud. It's too difficult to install something with compromised function and looks. Also it takes away the era look of the W204. I would like to see you install a front AND rear anti-roll bar. Keep up the great work! Or a repair of the faded buttons on the radio.
