    One of your best videos. The explanation of techniques like holding the thumb on the outer edge and praying at 6 o'clock was most interesting. Also I loved the goose and dog story.

    great dog bowl and platter, the 'pray at 6 o'clock' works, you mentioned it in a previous video, so i tried it and its the easiest 'pull' ever, it also moves some of the flareed skirt in and up. Great tip, Lisa another good video, thankyou

    I have a BatMate and use bat pins on my Brent. I didn’t know this was an option. My friend has a little wheel, no bat pins. I told her the BatMate wouldn’t hold a regular plastic bat. I had no idea. Will this work for her with the other bat materials like composite and plastic or only plaster? You’ve got skills! Thank you for teaching me new things.

      It does work on other materials but on some of the plastic bats that aren’t solid on the backside (like those green square ones) it probably wouldn’t work so great. But I have a few fully solid composite bats and they work. It’s always worth a try! Thank you so much for watching glad to hear my content has been helpful 😊

    Awesome large forms, thanks for sharing. I would love to see how you make your plaster bats. I've never used one but it deems they could be quite useful.

      Thank you so much!! I’ll definitely try to do a quick tutorial video on marking them. It’s easy just messy, but they last forever. I have yet to break one.

    Gorgeous platter! Can’t wait to see it finished. Would love a tutorial on how to make the plaster bats

      Thank you so much! For the bats I really just mix up some pottery plaster and use drip trays (for planters) as a mold. It’s super simple (messy of course) but I’ll work on a video on it hopefully soon!

      @@Lisa.Riland okay thanks. It looked like the bottom has a texture or are both sides smooth? And how thick do you make them? Great videos

    • @Lisa.Riland
      @Lisa.Riland  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah, the texture on the bottom comes from the mold and then the top is smooth. It would probably be fine if both sides were smooth, but most drip trays you’ll find have a raised pattern, so the plaster forms around that. I have some that are about 3/4in (18mm) and others that are about 1/2 in (12mm) and both work well.

    You just convice me to try the plaster bats!
    Il cannot find those bats with holes under to fit with my bolts. I know they have that in the USA

    • @Lisa.Riland
      @Lisa.Riland  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Oh bummer yea in the US I think the spacing is really standard, but the plaster ones should work great for you!

    I’m also a plaster bat user. The ones that fit onto bat pins are so expensive at the supply house. I’m interested in what mold or form you use to make yours.

    • @Lisa.Riland
      @Lisa.Riland  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I’m actually planning to make a video showing how I make them! I just need to get to my supply store which unfortunately is about an hour from my house :( but I will show soon. The form I use though are just those plastic drip trays for plants. You can get pretty wide ones online or at a nursary.

    Noticed you have 2 water buckets? Why do you need them both?

    • @Lisa.Riland
      @Lisa.Riland  8 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      No special reason other than I like to have a bigger bucket behind me to wash my hands in once in a while. It’s a little luxury really 😊

      Oh I wonder if it helps keep your tools not cakes on with clay too! I must try that 🤜🏼
