Of course you can open the same type of business near another. It's a dumb idea unless the current business is over subscribed, but there is no law or rule against it.
Several Turkish barbers have sprung up in my Town, the shops are almost always empty of customers. With the Business tax and overheads it's difficult to see how these shops are financially viable.
There are two right across the road. The shop that was between the two Turkish Barbers was a greengrocers. Apparently the Turkish Barber from Istanbul on the right is doing it up as his sister, who still lives in Istanbul has purchased it!!! The other shops are owned by Asians. Nuf said. Thanks for the map Liam. Might buy myself an English pie shop in Istanbul for Christmas. 🙄🤔
There are twenty now near me, which covers a square block if you walk round. They always seem to be empty though, with two Muslim men sitting looking at their phones. They cannot be making enough money to keep afloat, unless they're selling something under the counter.
Lots have sprung up in my home town of Harrogate. There is one that opened a couple of months ago. I drive past it regularly and I rarely see any customers in there. I wonder why local councils allow so many?
I am fortunate enough to live in a small , rural, village in the English countryside that until recently had a small shop selling a variety of groceries to local people. Sadly, due to lack of use the little shop closed down and the owners stated that most people were now buying their goods from large, out of area, supermarkets where the prices were much more competitive. The shop has now re-opened as a Turkish barber shop which as far as I can see sits empty all day, everyday. WTF is going on there is anybody's guess, it certainly isnt needed or wanted in this area.
There is one English Barbers about 15 mins walk from me been there years. Now one Turkish barbers that popped up around the corner from me this year.Approx 10 in my local High street a mile from me that have opened in the last few years.I don't know about the main City centre as I avoid it.I just go past on the bus to work.I might have seen one. They are not going away that's for sure. Anyway I hope you don't mind me using your site to promote The Pledge online have a read and sign if you agree with it,only if you are in the UK and then pass on to family and friends. The Call for a General election is now nearly 3 million. Happy peaceful Christmas and New Year.
We as a family have a mobile hairdresser and charges about £11 for me and the youngest so and the wifes hair ? take out a mortgage for that!! As for the link,I clicked on it and Cheshire east shows a 9.6 change in activity. The turkish barbers that I know about are always empty, and the nail bars.
I'm in Scotland, we have one in town, every time I go past there is either one person in there, or no one. The town isn't big and already has a traditional barbershop, there is no need for another one.
There are eleven yes , 11 barbers shops on one short road and i. Town there are 5 within yards of each other . The crown ones are visibly high end with expensive furniture and what not but never any customers in them . I suspect they are set up to launder money generated by the dinghy traffickers. The traffickers charge no less than 7/10 k per passenger .
I've stopped counting Liam. I did put in a freedom of info to the local council. They said they hadn't got the info, liars! I do know from that foi that they get a substantial reduction in rent though. Make of that what you will..
Note that 99% of all shops that went bust and closed in the recent scamdemik were somehow re-opened as a non native establishment by a non English speaking non native
I live in a small village in South Oxfordshire and the nearest larger village to me has about 6 shops and one of these Turkish Barbers, in which I've seen 1 customer, once in over a year (obviously I'm not there all the time). However, they same guys took over the little fish & chip shop and also only take cash. Dodgy? I don't use either establishment.

In my little town. We had 2 open in 6 months maybe 8 months nothing turk and U can guess we will have the council moan but no back bone as normal and a fraud them be setups
Every six weeks or so, I deliver goods to Scotland’s most northerly town, Thurso. There have been a couple of kebab shops there for a couple of years. An ‘Indian’ restaurant, and a Chinese. But the place is wonderful in that is MAINLY WHITE SCOTTISH. Superb. However, to my abject disappointment, last week I found myself blinded by a brightly lit new shopfront… a ‘Kurdish barber’. It seems that nowhere is immune from it.
I used to be able to put links to articles on here, why can't I now!? Have you or one of your moderators restricted that from now being done, please!? I was trying to add a telegraph link. About some turkish drug dealers etc using & abusing human rights laws to be able to avoid deportations! Plus I also saw an article that the home office has been watching social medias & making arrests on the same or something similar, i can't quite remember what the 2nd article said! So I think it's worth everyone reporting them to the home office, don't you!? (But, im suspicious because haven't I read before that it's the home office helping them stay & housing them!? So, what's truly going on with the home office? Could the article saying they're making arrests/deporting, be false msm news just to try & keep us sweet)!?
@@iamliamtI don't get these problems on 2 other channels I moderate on. So I suspect that you need to possibly check your settings on your channel & check what your moderators are & if they've done something. Are your moderators 'managing moderators' or standard moderators!? Because I am a managing moderator on another channel & a moderator on another! As a managing moderator I can restrict/block certain words & probably links! I can activate slow mode on livestreams too! Of course I haven't restricted/blocked anything on those channels & wouldn't! The only function I use is the slow mode chat on livestreams if necessary! Because 13k typing comments & spamming nonsense, obviously that's a no no! So I suspect there's something up your end Liam. That's why I haven't been back on here recently. What's the point if youtube channel owners/moderators/youtube are going to create censorships that prevent me sharing information!? Can you find out if your settings are set on the strictest & if so lower them & if your moderators are managing moderators or standard moderators & if they've made restrictions/added blocked words, please!?
Hinckley and Bosworth shows no change since 2019 but the figure includes all hair and beauty treatment shops and if they are accurate the growth in barbers might be offset by women's salons moving to mobile or something that isn't recorded. Some Turkish barbers have been going for years and the one I use is ok, nothing lavish just ordinary. More recent ones must have spent a small fortune including one converted from a run down "junk/antiques" shop some distance from the town centre. All I can say is their business model is impressive!
Way to go ...land on British soil then get given lush apartments laptops bikes even cars free travel food etc then above all finance obtained easily otherwise hard from a bank to open new business selling chapaatis if your Afghan or a small conershop bobshop as they call it and if Turkish open a salon all funded by taxpayers money ... No matter if you have experience qualifications to be a barber just open and practice on customers and perfect your cutting ✂️ etc

We have a few Turk barbers in our local town, Yeovil.
Money laundering has never been so up front!
There's 4 by me within 20 metres ...
Barbers, takeaway deliveries - you are funding your own demise.
The town is 1/2 mile away - I despair seeing how lazy my neighbours are.
The covid cowards certainly gave it impetus.
Wait till they make weed legal and tax it
How the a f does the ‘council’ approve them near each other. You cannot open up the same shop offering the same service.
That tells you! They don’t want to know!!!
Paid off/council filled with them
Because they are getting their cut of tax off them the more they approve the more money they get
Of course you can open the same type of business near another. It's a dumb idea unless the current business is over subscribed, but there is no law or rule against it.
@ Yes there is. It’s called ‘conflict of interest’ and we’ve always had it.

They are money laundering! That’s what’s really going on
Money laundering.
They launder dirty money: crime, drugs, vice etc., and make millions out of us. And the authorities do nothing. Nothing.
