And yes, I am even more nasally today than yesterday but at least I'm feeling more energetic! Appreciate all the support. How much does combat masteries change up your plans for the league? I'm really having to think now about what I'm wanting to do.
It really solidified my Kourend, Frem and Asgarnia. Either 5/5 or 4/6 melee range. T6 is just so broken, but having 2t in two styles sounds really fun. Having a hard time seeing any use for melee or mage at all with t6 range though…
Your blowpipe tier 3 is incorrect i believe 2 tick 80% is 1.6 tick doesnt hit the rounding down point of 1.5? Edit now that i think about it a toxic blowpipe is a 3tick base with rapid 2tick so that would qualify right?
@@terrysimms1790 They should get 1 tick. My understanding of how they round is by either doing floor/ceiling of the number, meaning you just have to get below the whole number threshold to make it to that tick category (if you will).
These masteries don't really change my plans. Even if I weren't going hespori's echo none of the masteries are really plan-changing in my opinion. They all just passively do things to increase your dps without any interactivity. If we had options like, ballista now shoots throwing axes. Or, gear accuracies add a third to other style's accuracies. Or, having random items in your inventory add bonuses to your character. Then my plans could've been upended.
Ya. I think having a sort of chart to see what moves down to what helps you see both what the benefit is, but also compare it to other weapons of that category. 2t weapons mean basically nothing to me lol. A scythe hitting as fast a blowpipe though? That I can understand!
i think the coolest way to use the tier 6 ranged mastery of "your attacks never miss" is to fight bosses that were not designed to be ranged. bosses like the moons, duke, and pestilent bloat all have tons of ranged armor which normally forces you to melee them. but if your attacks never miss then their armor is meaningless and it would be really fun to kill them with ranged. something not possible in the normal game
Actually, now that you say that I'm realizing they showed the BP killing bloat didn't they. My lack of ToB knowledge is shining through. I didn't think anything was wrong with that picture lol.
This has definitely been my favorite video of all of the ones I’ve seen so far that covered the new combat masteries. Thought you did a great job explaining everything thoroughly but still simple enough for less experience people to understand!
Luckily we have a week to plan still. Hopefully they don't have something else crazy big to shake things up...... well.... I guess they do still have a final combat relic lol.
I was planning a melee route but now I'm seriously considering a range route I like to call "Machine Gun Nuclear Tbow" With T6 mastery you get a 2 tick tbow that never misses, never hits below a 25 (averaged across the +0,5,10,15,20% increase) and heals you 1 hp every second. That sounds insane to me.
Tier 6 sold me on ultimate smooth brain ranged gameplay. Doesn't matter if the boss has +50,000 ranged defense and a ranged prayer, I'm still hitting every shot without even having to gear for it. At that point, melee and magic are just skills to train. Plus Ranged T4 healing 5 hp per 5 attacks? Make that 6 after the T2 passive, and 12 after the Varlamore gloves. Knife/dart tank meme afk build hype!
this is actually the best breakdown of it I've seen yet. most others basically just scroll through the image and read off what it says, with a tiny bit of extra being said on top.
Never missing with range is just too busted. Not many people seem to understand that yet. Every single boss in the game suddenly becomes Rangeable while wearing full Torva or Justiciar lol...
Ya. From all the feedback people are providing I realize I may have undersold range T6. Getting the opportunity to range any boss is a fun thing. I was probably a bit too melee brained when thinking about this initially lol.
love the videos and how you laid out the tick speed changes from tier3/5 relics. I did the math on Dual macuahuitl's with teir 5 relic by taking the end resulting tick amount -.5 for the set bonus(assuming high hit chance) and it is tied with Dharrocks at 57% value. 1-(1.5/3.5). looking forward to using it.
That's pretty cool. I was wanting to try out a blood moon build this league and while I was a little uncertain of how good it would be, I do think it'll perform at least decently well. Lots and lots of smacks if nothing else.
If you're looking for a jack of all trades build, I think 5/3/2 might be the way to go, especially with the desert. You get your 2 tick scythe, a 1 tick super accurate blowpipe, and a shadow that gets +25% damage because of 5 ticks between each attack.
Ya. I think 1 point on a style doesn't feel strong enough for me, though you do end up losing out on that prayer pen passive. That one is still a bit of an unknown to me, but I worry it'll end up being important for the echoes.
@YewJackOSRS yeah, there's still a lot we don't know about them. One thing I've been wondering is whether they'll make use of the new flat armor mechanic we got in Varlamore, like at Moons. If an echo boss has negative flat armor, then the melee echo attacks become incredibly powerful, since that flat bonus would get applied to every individual hit.
I think Nature's Reprisal is most useful for people who go full melee, as it helps even out things like Jad, Zuk, and other bosses where melee just isn't viable, or much harder. It means I don't have to gear swap and use a sub-optimal skill tree.
I do think a full melee Nature's build will be fun for the stuff you're talking about. It has such a long range. Even though I don't think it'll be BIS melee for most things; it is the only option for melee on distant bosses lol. BIS baabbbyy! Sally gang risin' up!
Thank you so much for putting all this together, the way you do makes it so easy to brainstorm what i want to go for! and wow jagex really cooked once again and i can't wait! My only complaint or what i'm bummed about reallyt is that we only get 3 regions. I just want to try out my build on all the content in the game. wish we got the option to unlock more regions but those after the 3rd you woudln't be able to get drops and xp or something like that. i jsut want to kill more stuff hehe
They do still have a weeks worth of reveals, so who knows what they'll do there. I'm almost hoping they'll make Kandarin a free region this time around with how much they've been hating on it lol.
Whenever there's an announcement, I see other creators rush to release their videos, mostly just rewording the news. I often think, "Do I really need to watch more about this?" But when your video comes out, it's clear you've put in time and thought. It's always well-crafted, offers fresh insights, and goes beyond just repeating Jagex's words. Thanks for consistently delivering quality content!
For T2 Mage I think it's main purpose is to stack with the T6 relic to consistently 1 shot things with lower hp. So things like Barrows, maybe Giant Mole you can 100% guarantee an instant 1 shot kill every time.
Ya. As more people have been talking about it I think it makes sense. It doesn't say you need to be in combat for it to stack up so likely it'll be fully charged when you first start in on something.
If you combo the mage tier 2 with mage tier 6, you can one shot smaller monsters more consistently, for example some slayer tasks or minions at bosses.
I think they'll have overheads but you can likely swap styles to get around it. DKS for example will probably have like a double pray thing going on so you are forced to use their actual weakness (instead of blowing them up with your strong style). So, you don't have to have the prayer pen but it is really helpful to have it. That's my guess anyway.
My current plan is t6 ranged, t4 melee. Wear a full strength bonus setup to everything, and clean house with the Atlatl since i don't need to worry about the accuracy, and can go all in on damage
I wouldnt sleep on Bowfa, it goes from 4 tick to 3 if you are doing a 6/4 melee/range build. Thats a really good build since you will want the crystal armor anyway.
I think crystal armor 5/5/0 will be really good, gives an awesome hybrid combat build with only a single piece that needs to be swapped, and having 5/5 still leaves you open to optimally use scythe or tbow if you get them.
Ya. It's a little unfortunate the crystal armor bonus doesn't apply to other ranged weapons but it will be very strong for any melee weapon really. I also know lots of folks are hyping up T6 range with the BP.
@YewJackOSRS I've been running the calcs and, at least for the drygore, the difference between T4 and T6 is extremely negligible. For most enemies your stats are so high that you are always hitting. I also don't think you'll be able to sustain a toxic blowpipe's dart use without Desert, 300 darts an hour seems hard to without being able to fletch them. T6 tbow definitely seems like it's going to be insane though, if I remember correctly you could kill Sol with it in 40 seconds or so with frem jewelry despite its ungodly ranged defence.
“T6 range is useless because of how accurate everyone is” I hear a lot and I think people are really sleeping on guaranteed damage. Especially on things with insanely high range defense like Sol.
Ya, I suppose that's true. Means you can range anything regardless of how the boss was designed. My thought is the TBow isn't actually that good against non magic enemies even if you can hit. Crossbow has bolt specs which don't care about accuracy (though normal hits sure would benefit). I suppose using the blowpipes at a boss like sol could be fun. I'd think if you do go that route though, the best benefit of t6 is wearing ultra tanky melee armor and then taking in your range weapon.
@ I was thinking 2t Zaryte cbow with onyx tipped dragon bolts will hit like a truck and switch to rubies for specs. I won’t have Masori, but I’ll have BIS everything else from Kourend, Fremmy Asgarnia. I’ll also have the tribrid weapon which will also be 2t and almost bowfa range str until then
Yeah for me I was completely planning to do a fangpipe build for range and tier 5/6 range don't really boost the DPS that much for those combos so what I'd prefer to do now is start straight into t6 magic and then still mostly range with fangpipe later
The combat masteries heavily solidify my plan. My three regions are Kourend, Desert, and Fremmy, and I was leaning towards going for a hybrid magic and range setup with the drygore as my main range weapon and a shadow as my magic weapon. And for my spec weapon I was planning to use D. claws. 1 4 5 is going to be really good, cause I get 2t shadow and 1t drygore, while also having increased damage on my claws.
ZFD ay? Leaning magic is interesting. I do think machine gun shadow will be pretty fun, and you basically get BIS mage setup from Z with a nice bit of support from F. Makes sense to me.
People aren’t talking enough about how with a 60% increase in rate of fire and never missing on range. Enchanted crossbows are going to be insane. Onyx and ruby bolts (e) will be dominant and 95% chance they don’t consume on top of accumulators
Tbow and the T6 range is wild. I really wanted to go hybrid this time but you can use tbow on anything almost and get the most dps. Even weird stuff that you normally cant range like Nightmare for example its not just good combined with void range and Fremmy accessories its actually the best. If that wasn't enough it also still takes the crown on stuff where it has always been good.
Ya. So long as a boss has high mage level to help bolster up the damage it'll do a ton at 2tick. And if not, then you swap in some darts or a bp or something to just melt stuff anyway lol.
Max melee hit with echoes if echoes could be infinite is about 2x damage. (If each echo is 50% of the last) Example: round down: 100+50 +25+12+6+3+1= 197 Round up: 100+50+25+13+7+4+2+1+1= 203
I would also like to point out that the *ALL* of the Tier 4 masteries benefit directly from the Tier 2 passive. Nice little synergy. Awesome video as always Yew! Looking forward to another one
Honestly out of all the videos i watched about this relic tease youre the one that explained it the best. And in general you been pumping out these videos with so much information that i doubt many creators could compete. Also some of these relics make me really question about how it stacks with other multipliers or damage increases. Like the healing ones for example. Also adding in things like a blood fury and the Sunlit Brachers which explicitly say they do add in other modifiers so im curious how they all add up to eachother at the end (depending on route).
Shoot. I can barely compete with myself at this point lol. Thanks though. :D Knowing how they often math things with %'s I'd bet everything will be additive rather than multiplicative. Not that they couldn't change it up or make it unique for certain interactions. I just tend to believe they don't want things to get too out of hand even if it is leagues lol.
@@YewJackOSRS There seems to be a theme around HP regen and healing in general this league. From the Sol Bracer as an echo to the relics, there are quite a few items and relics this time around having a focus on healing, makes me wonder if its gonna be a valid build to just spam blood magic or perhaps some other funky ways to play around with it.
man im so undecided between WTF or WAF for my melee build godsword is great and torva is close enough to the crystal armour for me to have fun but at the same time having full melee and then be able to do a 1 tick blowpipe switch would also rock.
Think it depends how much grinding you want to do. I think A will end up being way more grinding cause godwars is just a lot of spots to go through for boss drops. T is probably an easier setup, but then you do miss out on the dogsword. Wildy blade will be good though either way.
Apparently it was said on the discord by a mod that all echo hit damage is based on the damage of the first hit. We just need to find out if echo hits trigger the lightning strikes or if they generate sunlight stacks.
If that's true then the echo damage stacks will be even crazier. I feel like there's no way that could be the case though. That'd mean you could get like... 800+ dmg on a DH hit if you were lucky enough.
@YewJackOSRS yeah I think they figured up that it's a 1/78000 chance to get all 8 echo hits and if you get it with max damage it would be like 820 damage.
@@flyns2 That's actually not even that rare considering how fast you'll be attacking and how many attacks you'll probably make. I'd wager I could fit in 2 or 3 on rate during the league lol.
1t adamant/mithril knives with power miner to start will be really strong once you get tier 3 masteries. Level the range until it's high enough to kill Jad with a RCB.
Hopefully that holds true, though I've had a few tell me I'm wrong on range weapons for ticks (base speed vs rapid - I categorized them for rapid). I haven't seen enough info there though to know whether or not that's the case really. Either way it doesn't really change much, but would make a few things 1 tick slower at the T3 (mainly the slow stuff).
@@YewJackOSRS In the past the attack speed upgrades always accounted for attack style so I'm 99% sure you're right to use rapid as the standard for calculating attack speed.
Varlamore should 100% be in S tier the echo hits basicly means u get spec back every 3 hits or so since all the echo hits also increase ur special attack that can hit 160s
Ya, that's true. Doesn't the tbow max scale with mage level as well though? (not just the accuracy) If I'm remembering that right, then I don't know it would be worth using on those bosses. Would have to check the stats on stuff. Drygore though for sure lol.
My Kandarian cope would be 6/1/3 or 6/0/4, 2 tick harm and +90% voli staff spec seems like fun and it gives piety for free if you really want the farming points.
Toxic blowpipe will be BiS once you hit t6 though until raids/nex. Extra 20 range str when charged and the venom/spec. You can definitely shred GWD bosses and probably everything in raids. But you can just skip T ofc and be perfectly fine.
Just a few things where I think you're absolutely wrong. - Prayer penetration is just a nice boost for your weapon being able to tackle every single boss, instead of needing a gear switch. It's no big deal, just a nice QOL for people who go all-in on 1 style. For example for wardens or CG it's just really nice to not have to switch at all. - The t6 ranged may be the strongest generally applicable mastery out of the bunch. Using a blowpipe to go brrrrr against a WHOLE bunch of bosses with high ranged defence is no joke. There's a lot of bosses that have massive ranged defence, and a 100% accurate blowpipe just plain shreds through it, with a minimum hit of 5 or 6 or so added on top. - Furthermore, the drygore blowpipe actually got a _nerf_ by giving the regular blowpipe a 100% accuracty buff. Literally, the drygore blowpipe is getting _shredded_ by toxic blowpipe. It doesn't have a special attack, it's missing +10 ranged strength, AND it doesn't add poison (admittedly, the latter is the weakest addition, but it's still a buff). The drygore blowpipe isn't made to be good. It's made to be a ladder towards the ranged build with tbow from TOA. Also, if you pick desert, you _definitely_ want to pick t6 ranged, because your tbow will be SO much better. So picking drygore won't even allow you to skip out on t6 range. - If you're going ranged+melee hybrid, desert may not be the best pick for you. The toxic blowpipe has +10 ranged str (when loaded) compared to drygore, so on its own toxic blowpipe is just plain better. On top of that, you'll get a free BIS melee gear with the same region as well, meaning the fact this announcement is basically 'this is tribrid league' means Tirannwn got a massive boost. "Bowfa suffers, blowpipe is 'okay'" @ 34:13. Wait what, is this from the guy who just praised the drygore blowpipe so much it got S tier? Like I said, toxic blowpipe is a straight upgrade at tier 6 ranged. "The blowpipe is gonna be absolutely _smashed_ by the drygore blowpipe" @ 34:46. Okay man let's meet in soul wars. Your drygore vs my toxic. Let's see who wins. "Poor old Tirannwn" couldn't be further from the truth, for me. Before, I wasn't even considering T, whereas now I'm getting pretty convinced that (with the current info out there) I'll probably be going T. - The Hespori salamander also got a pretty decent buff. Without tribrid possibilities, it'd just be a single-style gimmick. But with today's teaser it's just got a huge upgrade. It means you can make it go brrr in two out of three styles, and you still have a pretty decent third style at your fingertips. - The wildy sword didn't really benefit the attack speed much, but it was already fully expected that the attack speed halving would become part of this league. I'm surprised you didn't count on that already. However, the double-attacking mechanic of the sword makes the echo hits proc much more often, _and_ it's an easier to access AOE special attack weapon, for people who don't want to do _literally_ the hardest content in the game multiple times (for the sunlight spear). - 6/3/1 is probably better in almost every case than 5/4/1. The 4th tier is not all _that_ strong for each style, given that it's just heals (which you'll have your main style for). Having the first tier for range, along with 6 mage and 3 melee is probably best of everything: you'll be a nuke mage, with faster whip attacks, and normal speed ranged attacks, but those ranged attacks do have a minimum hit of 30% if they hit (and they'll probably hit, given the +100% accuracy passive). Having the extra heals on your off-style is probably a waste of a point.
"A few" *clicks to show more* *GIANT WALL OF TEXT* lol -I suspect prayer pen will help with echo bosses. I agree it's a nice way to help your style at everything in the game, I just don't think there is thaaat many things that pray. -For all the blowpipe talk, I do get what you mean. Standard blowpipe on T6 will hit harder and no longer cares about the accuracy dif. That's why it was on there for me. I don't think it's that big of a dif dmg wise for the 10 range str to force a Tirannwn pick. You make a good point though about a melee/range hybrid since crystal will be the best dps for melee setups. I think really I just don't view T6 range as that fun overall besides doing the meme build and the meme build benefits from other regions more. That one is a bit more of a me thing than a game thing though in fairness. -Think the Wildy sword is super strong early mid and then loses out late cause it doesn't get the most benefit, but it isn't like it gets worse per say. It's just that something like the scythe would out class it. That said, ya; not everyone will go to raids. That's actually why I keep it up there in S. I think it'll see a lot of use from people. -I agree. I think there are a lot of spreads for builds. 6 in a style seems good overall, so I think for most you do that or maaaaybe a 5/5 split. 4/3/3 would be for fun/lazy builds. For what it's worth, I didn't mean to attack your blowpipe setup joey. Just here to have a good time and try to condense down some leagues stuff. And no I will not meet you in soul wars lol. I did enough of that place on SirTransit and you know it. 😝
@@YewJackOSRS Haha yeah sorry for the wall of text ;) I wasn't offended by your comments about the blowpipe. I just felt like your analysis of leagues so far was pretty good, but this time I felt like you missed the mark on quite a few points in this video, so that's whay I wanted to let you know!
Super cool that we're not stuck with boosting one style, this is gonna be fun! Been leaning closer towards Desert as my 3rd choice as a melee build, was considering a 6/4 split (maybe even 6/3/1) before I clicked on this video. The extra passive accuracy on top of the Drygore accuracy AND it being 1 tick would probably be very good DPS.
Ya. I think support Drygore for healing will actually be crazy. 6 hp every 5 ticks (which is like ~3 seconds) because you have the bonus 20% as well. It's like a vampyre blowpipe.
For range, 1t Bp that doesn’t miss with masori and the frem jewelry is probably like 12’s nonstop. To put that in perspectives, that’s like your tbow never hitting under 60
I feel like you're overlooking something like 6 in melee, 3 in ranged and 1 in magic as a hybrid. It makes melee really strong, blood moon and scythe going to rock where they can and if you can't use melee, you use ranged instead, you just won't get the healing from it. From those rare times you need to use magic, maybe a switch in raids for one or two bosses (olm, ice demon, vanguards for example) you get a small boost in that as well. That's at least what I'm going with. I do wanna say that I love your slideshows, it really makes it easy to visualize how some weapons end up changing. Edit: I am speaking of this build as I'm most likely going to take Varlamore > Kourend > Fremennik areas, mostly going to capitalize on that blood moon set and then do rest with ranged and maybe sometimes use magic. I feel like there's not that many magic uses in the game as there would be for ranged in my case and I don't think the magic T2 and T3 are better than ranged T2 and T3. T4 for both seems meh, don't really need more healing probably, so I'm fine having melee heal only. Also moonlight moth stonks with pray recieved increase, can't wait. Never gonna be looking at a pray potion ever again lol.
I'm a little underwhelmed by the mage dmg bonus since it requires hitting max to get the increase. I'm sure the averaged dps math on it is still fine, but probably more of a mental thing there. I do think dropping healing on all but 1 style is probably not a big deal. Hard to imagine you'd end up in too many situations where you can't use your main style. In this case, since you mentioned Kourend, you'd get access to the nature sally so you could really melee anything and not lose out there. I'm also thinking of a similar path atm. VZF. Think blood moon is going to be a fun build and then you get a lot of good options to swap out later if you like. And ya, I agree. I think of the early points (1-3) range is the strongest. Upping your min hit to 30% + there are so many ranged weapon options at just the 80% atk speed mastery.
@YewJackOSRS magic is probably gonna be the combat style i ignore the most since i only have the second best gear for it from my region choices, how sad.
Melee looking hella good. I was already planning on going Melee with Varlamore, Asgarnia, Morytania, and I am now convinced to do so lol. Personally doing 6/4 on Melee/Ranged and just use karil's blowpipe and dharok's 300 one hits. Also loving the progression of Mage coming from "Shadow Machinegun" to just "Nuke everyone." Truly advancing in the guns race.
Lol. You actually get both this year if you want to. Mage has certainly been a strange one this year with Kandarin essentially out + the masteries now doing some nonsense.
@@YewJackOSRS I think the elemental weakness adds to nuke potential but they need to have something else to abuse of elemental weakness, otherwise it is just so fringe it's not worth it. But yeah, I guess nuke machinegun exists too lol.
Im with you on that guess, Echo bosses are all gonna have prayers, and you can bet they swap styles of prayer too. Huge impact to my game plans, as I was leaning towards a bowfa build to stay away from the desert ranger meta a bit. Now that the accuracy matters less for ranged and damage matters more, im not convinced bowfa/crystal is a good idea. Perhaps we pull Kandarin out of the bin and have some Heavy Ballista fun with that massive max hit and 30% min. :^)
I really wanted to do a ballista build last year but ended up not going for it. I do think it could be quite fun even if it isn't like super BIS compared to other weapons.
like the format but one thing id suggest is on the pages with speed increases. youve put the % for how much time (how many ticks) are removed, which is fine. 1 tick is, in fact, 50% of 2 ticks. but its a 100% dps increase. 3 ticks to 2 ticks is a 50% dps increase. etc makes it easier to digest and helps show how much bang youre getting for your buck. great content though bro, hope you get better soon.
Ok. That I like a bit more. I know someone else was suggesting a multiplier (like 2.5x or so) but I am a fan of the % myself. I guess my one concern for doing a direct DPS comparison like that is getting roasted by all the math peeps. In a perfect world the atk speed would translate directly to DPS, but something tells me with all the other factors what wouldn't be exactly true. Maybe I'm worried about it too much though lol.
@@YewJackOSRS a lil bro :) i get what you mean about about the mathophiles out there. its the whole "you cant please everybody all of the time" argument, and theres always going to be those "well if you follow this algorithm 2+2 doesn't always equal 4" type of douches :P but generally speaking a 100% increase in attack speed would generally equate to 100% dps. until you factor in dps loss through movement/eating etc. also it is a little more work to get the multiplier. like 5tick down to 2 tick is a 150% increase in dps whereas its a 60% reduction in attack speed. seems a little counter intuitive at times.
Really hard trying to decide. I will probably go either 6/4 or 5/5 melee/ranged. My route will probably be AWM. Really looking forward to the kopesh honestly such a cool weapon for me even if it isnt BIS. End goal is get scythe from tob, get dragon teir and farm cerb for pet. 3k kills on her between the last 2 leagues with no drop yet
Should be good! M/F just by themselves will give you a killer melee setup to work with. I really like this time around that you can do like 1 or 2 areas for a core build. Gives a lot of flexibility for the 3rd pick.
I've heard a couple different things now from multiple mods lol. I think we may just have to wait and see unless whoever designed it confirms what we're talking about here.
Tiran was dlne dirty in the tier list - toxic blowpipe at tier 6 with frem jewelry actually outdpses 95% of setups in the game...while wearing nothing else (or full tank armor, for example). Crystal armor is also the highest possible dps for a lot of melee builds
Too bad you don't get the crystal benefits on the BP. I pushed it down because of how it ends up limiting you outside of melee. I do agree though, BP T6 is right up there with the Drygore dps wise and the melee setups will be really crazy I'm sure. At least I ended up moving it up a little from where I had originally put it today. :p
Right now I'm thinking VZF. Get some early moons stuff to play around with. Take on an early hespori. Maybe get into raids for a little then push onto the dag kings. Wrap up with an echo sol (hopefully). If I have enough time I'd love to do a second build for the range tank. I think that one looks really fun too.
Sunlight Spear might benefit a lot from T6 too if the Echo hits generate a Sunlight Stack each, could be super interesting! But 5/5 would be so good for 2 tick TBow 😭
I'm probably going AFK (zeah) to use that Hespori Echo with either 6/2/2 or 6/1/3. My hopes were high that combat mastery would allow for a good tri-brid setup. But now I can only hope that we either have a combat relic that enables it or they make elite void only need Asgarnia. I'd rather do 4/3/3 to be honest, but if the T6 passive isn't given to us for just spending 6 points, I don't think I'm good enough for echo DKs who pray swap.
I also think 4/3/3 would be fun with that weapon. It's so hard to say right now how much the T6 passive is really going to matter, but it certainly makes more things chill. On the bright side, I think a melee build with it will still be very fun. Ranged melee thing going on and all.
Assuming nothing crazy changes with relics, I think I"m pretty committed to Wildy/Frem/ Desert. Should give me an ok balance between melee and ranged. The Fremmy jewelry will make up for lacking better armor and 1-tick drygore should make short work of whatever is too annoying to melee
Well, we do still have 5 days left of reveals so we're probably getting at least 5 more relics if not a bit more lol. Some of those are going to be a combat tier as well.
11:40 - Really should consider including knives/darts in the 2t column. Iirc d knives are only 2~4 dps(eg: with my regions, ZFT is a scale of 30.9~28.1 dps.) behind toxic blow pipe depending on region combo.
Ya I suppose not everyone will get a blowpipe. I truthfully didn't think of knives at all lol. Darts would be in the same tier though since they are the ammo for the blowpipe anyway.
Awesome Vid but honestly I think Dogsword needs to be A or S tier , it's going to be insanely fast and such a high hitter to begin with being a godsword. The spec is just absolutely insane. Subscribed btw. love your vids
so with the rounding on ranged weapons, the 3 tick weapons with t5 only being 1 tick faster means that they still attack at 2 ticks when put on accurate, meaning they get the increased max hit, without losing any speed, so while not as huge of an improvement as becoming a tick faster, it's still something at least also melee mastery t6 means that scythe can hit up to 27 times, not 24, up to 8 echos per hit, plus the original 1, 9 each, scythe hits 3 times, 27 total keeping fremmy at s tier has to be a meme, it's basically pointless unless you're specifically going mage and range only and aren't picking any region with a dt2 boss for some reason, but at that point you're taking wilderness, frem. and kandarin so you've got bigger issues to worry about
Torn between 6 3 1 and 6 4 0. Don't know if the point in magic will be worth it. Need to know how many bosses are actually immune to melee/range with the t6 passive.
Well, they just confirmed opening up zulrah to melee so that's something. I do feel like magic is one that you kind of have to go all in on if you want it to work. The other styles get plenty of benefit early but a lot of the magic stuff sort of stacks together with the T6 mastery.
@YewJackOSRS yeah I'm probably doing WMF on my alt for magic since range doesn't seem that interesting past 1t gore. T1 magic seems like it will be more worth than healing on range but healing on range will save me some grief unnoting in inferno and coliseum
@@d.r.memphis-depay I don't think so, making darts requires a Desert quest, maybe you can get finished darts from drops but seems like a pain to farm. I think if you wanna do blowpipe stuff then Desert is better, since its echo boss weapon is superior to the toxic blowpipe. I also think Desert in general has more to offer than Tirannwn.
This update changed everything lol. Was gonna go mory, val, asg. But now its val, desert, asg. You can max melle almost and near max range except frem jewelery but blowpipe just blows. Im going 6/4 melle/range.
I think you might underestimate tiranwn a little bit, 15% melee damage as a percentage just scales hardest with all the combat masteries. I think in terms of raw melee damage it will be on par with wildy. Probably stronger with a scythe. Then 3 points in range for already bp 1 tick, also 3 tick bowfa is not a bad second style at all.
Oh don't get me wrong, I do like Tirannwn. I think for melee builds in particular it could be really fun. I just think it ends up limiting your options a little since you are stuck in the crystal armor. I try to kind of balance out the stuff I'm looking at in the tier list, so it's not straight dps ratings when I'm doing it. I'm sure your right that crystal will end up with like highest dps Scythe build. Get 2 pieces of crystal + black mask + scythe/frem stuff/etc. Going to smack very hard.
Ah man, I have no idea what build to do now... I'm planning VZM just based on content I wanna do/learn. Definitely not doing raids, Colosseum, or Inferno, so I'll be capped at 8 points if I even have the time. I might fall into the hybrid category leaning on the Nature's Reprisal towards end game. Or I could go hybrid Barrows... or full on mage with the Grimoire.
You could also do the melee build with Nature's Reprisal. I think that could be fun. Takes 5 points if you want the atk speed, 6 if you need the prayer pen/extra damage. Would mean other styles are weaker but if you're not too worried about that then think it'll be a good time.
I wonder if T6 range would be any good against sol. I think the BP is going to heal an absolute ton, so you'd probably have a lot of room for error if you decided to go that route.
honestly, i think the hardest part isnt going to be deciding which tree i want to take all the way. the hard part is deciding if i want to dump all 4 extra combast masteries into one style, or spread them out. or hell, even give up the final ranged one (because we have double accuracy already) and getting a second style to have that super increased attack speed. i will say, i am kinda dissapointed there isnt anything to do with special attacks though.
so the tier 6 magic mastery has really good synergy with the kandarin item against things that are weak to elemental spells. since water spells will do 3x damage against fire giants, it should be pretty easy to get your max hit high enough to surpass their maximum health pool. and once you get there, every attack will kill the fire giant in one shot no questions asked even on things with less extreme weakness like barrows brothers will still be good. the barrows brothers in particular will really benefit from the tier 2 magic mastery. because the time it takes to go to every hill will be enough to supercharge your next attack by 40%. and once again, your max hit will surpass their max health so it will kill all of them in 1 shot. im looking forward to 1 shotting all the barrows brothers and then using the stash teleport to open the chest. it will be like 20 seconds per barrows run
That's a good point. I suppose you don't need to be wailing on some high hp boss to feel the power of the magic build. Turn lesser bosses into low level mobs at that point lol.
Do any DPS calc with range with a tbow and see how busted the T6 relic is. Its not even close, its by far the most OP relic leagues has ever had. Being "pretty accurate" and never missing its not close to the same thing.
Ya. I'm hearing that more and more from folks. Funny thing is it doesn't excite me personally, but maybe I'm just anti range this year after the range meta last year lol. I got some personal bias rattling around in there. 😝
@@Jacksin24100% accuracy ranged sounds so good. But 2 tick in two styles would be so fun
The tier 3 tick speed chart is why you kick butt. This is exactly what I wanted from masteries in a gentle way for my brain to look at.
Aim to please. :p
Really like how differently you approached this from all the other creators! Showing how each affect weapons really helps perspective
Ya. I think having a sort of chart to see what moves down to what helps you see both what the benefit is, but also compare it to other weapons of that category. 2t weapons mean basically nothing to me lol. A scythe hitting as fast a blowpipe though? That I can understand!
Absolutely agree, GOAT content
i think the coolest way to use the tier 6 ranged mastery of "your attacks never miss" is to fight bosses that were not designed to be ranged. bosses like the moons, duke, and pestilent bloat all have tons of ranged armor which normally forces you to melee them. but if your attacks never miss then their armor is meaningless and it would be really fun to kill them with ranged. something not possible in the normal game
Or be a memer and camp full justy everywhere if u skipped desert as a ranger LOL
I was thinking something like this also for Dag kings, or anything in ToA or CoX that has high range defende
Actually, now that you say that I'm realizing they showed the BP killing bloat didn't they. My lack of ToB knowledge is shining through. I didn't think anything was wrong with that picture lol.
Also if go full t6 ranged the regular toxic bp is just better than drygore cause of venom potential
@@Jurtian You think anything is gonna live long enough to stack venom? Also seems like all the bosses are immune as well
This has definitely been my favorite video of all of the ones I’ve seen so far that covered the new combat masteries. Thought you did a great job explaining everything thoroughly but still simple enough for less experience people to understand!
Thanks! ❤
I'm shocked at how quickly you can get out this high quality of a video! Definitely my favorite one i've seen today, solid analysis
I'm not sure I'd call it quick lol. Took about 7 hours by my count. :p
My plans are in shambles and I love it
Luckily we have a week to plan still. Hopefully they don't have something else crazy big to shake things up...... well.... I guess they do still have a final combat relic lol.
They have to fix kandarin still! I'm still hoping for an alternative to FKM with maybe some special attack love to the nightmare staves.
Ranged in general looks kinda disgusting this time around lol.
I'll be honeast I was gonna go melee but this build is disgusting
@@YewJackOSRS you gotta look at some DPS calcs for that T6 relic. the never missing is insane.
Your vids are hands down the best when it comes to leagues prep. Appreciate all the work you put in man, it helps a lot!
Thanks! 🥰
THEY CAN'T KEEP PLAYING WITH US LIKE THAT.
And they are still holding that Kandarin card I tell ya!
Gonna have to be a crazy card haha. They have slaughtered that zone this year. @YewJackOSRS
@@YewJackOSRSthey are 100% not telling us something about Kandarin!
@@YewJackOSRS Do you think they will add a second Echo boss to Kandarin just to mess with us?
@@Lollaksyotuube I don't think so. I think if they're going to do something it'll likely be in the combat relic tier.
Nice vid man, as someone who usually just jumps back to the game for leagues these videos help massively :)
Glad I can help. 😁
I actually kind of want to try that myself too lol. Just AFK your way through every PvM encounter in the game.
It's pretty great. With the 30% minimum hit, every single boss is dead within a certain time, at least.
seems kinda boring to just afk blowpipe/tbow everything, but I won't deny it's very strong
Kourend for the dragon knives and twisted buckler then trying to go fremmy and varlamore sounds crazy
By far the best daily takeaway videos from the reveals, really setting yourself apart in a good way IMO!
I appreciate that! ❤️
this is actually the best breakdown of it I've seen yet. most others basically just scroll through the image and read off what it says, with a tiny bit of extra being said on top.
❤
Even works with Zulrah now!
@@tobiasvikr472 Ya! I saw that little update in the QoL stuff today. Nice clarification to have.
Thanks for the kind words. :D
Thanks for all the extra info. Best video of the day award goes to Jack 💯
❤
If you combo the mage tier 2 with mage tier 6, you can one shot smaller monsters more consistently, for example some slayer tasks or minions at bosses.
Ya, I think mage will be really good at blowing up most things in the game.
Thanks for all the hard work, Jack!
❤️
Great video, I am really enjoying your content!
Thanks! :D
Tier 3 range is insanely good value
It's actually crazy how many good range weapons you can pick up for just 3 mastery points.
@ rune knives ftw
the hard part to predict atm is if tier 6 is need in 1 style for the echo bosses, they might have overheads and mechanics that require it.
Ooo gl. I wonder how strong that one will end up being.
I wouldnt sleep on Bowfa, it goes from 4 tick to 3 if you are doing a 6/4 melee/range build. Thats a really good build since you will want the crystal armor anyway.
Ok, ya. True. Crystal being a really strong melee build probably makes up for some of the negatives of being locked into crystal + bowfa.
I think crystal armor 5/5/0 will be really good, gives an awesome hybrid combat build with only a single piece that needs to be swapped, and having 5/5 still leaves you open to optimally use scythe or tbow if you get them.
Tbow won't get the damage bonus from the crystal armour though, I'm thinking 6/4/0 with crystal + bowfa and SRA as melee weapon
I’ll also have the tribrid weapon which will also be 2t and almost bowfa range str until then
I just like the meme build possibilities. Roll around in tank armor while going pew pew.
@@YewJackOSRS 30% guaranteed damage on every hit with a 1-tick blowpipe is rather nuts.
Yeah for me I was completely planning to do a fangpipe build for range and tier 5/6 range don't really boost the DPS that much for those combos so what I'd prefer to do now is start straight into t6 magic and then still mostly range with fangpipe later
If the Echo Hits synergises with the Khopesh passive effect i think it gains a lot of value from T6 Melee
I don't believe it can trigger off of the lightning passive thing, but the spec is a double hit so both of those could echo.
From my understanding it won’t cause I think it is 20% chance for lightning every attack rather than every hit splat.
It's confirmed echos can create lightning but it seems lighting cannot echo
@@HolySaintSlayer wonderful, makes the T6 relic even better for W enjoyers
@@HolySaintSlayer Oh holy shit thats amazing!
Very well done, good job!
Thanks!
I think for Rangers, it really de-values bankers note as you will be healing consistently! So total re-call it is lol
Rangers probably don't even need relics at that point. Just melt everything lol.
Oh for sure. You'll essentially never run out of ammo.
(If each echo is 50% of the last)
Example: round down: 100+50 +25+12+6+3+1= 197
Round up: 100+50+25+13+7+4+2+1+1= 203
And it may not end up working that way. There's been some debates about the numbers on echoes between the mods lol.
Thank you for these overviews!
You're welcome! :D
I would also like to point out that the *ALL* of the Tier 4 masteries benefit directly from the Tier 2 passive. Nice little synergy.
Awesome video as always Yew! Looking forward to another one
Thanks! 😍
Not only is it just blowpipes go to 1 tick on T3 but also knives and darts which is really strong early on
Ya. Range has a ton of options!
Knowing how they often math things with %'s I'd bet everything will be additive rather than multiplicative.
Love the way you broke this down!
Thanks! ❤️
man im so undecided between WTF or WAF for my melee build godsword is great and torva is close enough to the crystal armour for me to have fun but at the same time having full melee and then be able to do a 1 tick blowpipe switch would also rock.
@YewJackOSRS True just hope that when you get them you don't get the depressing ones like your main hit is like a 10 and the echos are only 5's
@@flyns2 I shall rain 1's down upon all of gielinor 😈
I think for the tier 5 chart, it would have been better to compare it to the weapon speed in tier 3
What do you mean by that?
1t adamant/mithril knives with power miner to start will be really strong once you get tier 3 masteries. Level the range until it's high enough to kill Jad with a RCB.
Or take GG relic and pick up a bunch of those obby rings. Give Jad a taste of his own medicine or something like that lol
So many possibilities this League its crazy and we don't even have all the relics info yet.
Only 5 days left to go though til the end of the reveals and then a few more and the league will start!
Been waiting for this video, masteries have thrown everything out of the window! Your videos have been very helpful so far in helping me forge a plan.
Glad they've been helping! ❤️
Tier 1 and 6 magic could possibly have a cool interaction. If your max hit includes the 50% increase, that's a whole lot more insta-deletes.
I think mage will own everything under like 100 hp in the game.
It will check if you hit 90%+ then apply the max hit if the new max hit from the 50% bonus will kill. So it works 10% of the time. From the discord.
@ Thanks. A bit disappointing, but cool that it works sometimes.
You're actually the only Leagues 5 TH-camr so far that I've seen who hasn't made any mathematical mistakes in his combat masteries analysis.
I'm just worried it'll be too tough for a lot of folks to get. If it was an easier boss I think it'd be an easy S tier weapon.
t6 ranged with tbow on sol heredit, nightmare, nex, all of ToB and other unusually high range defence mobs has nice potential
Ya, that's true. Doesn't the tbow max scale with mage level as well though? (not just the accuracy) If I'm remembering that right, then I don't know it would be worth using on those bosses. Would have to check the stats on stuff. Drygore though for sure lol.
@@YewJackOSRS Then if you go frem which I want you get venator bow as well for inferno/colosseum/slayer might even work on daggonath kings with t6
My Kandarian cope would be 6/1/3 or 6/0/4, 2 tick harm and +90% voli staff spec seems like fun and it gives piety for free if you really want the farming points.
You will hit high numbers. Won't have a ton of bosses to smack through, but maybe that won't really matter in the end.
T6 range is there for the tbow. You can tbow almost anything for BIS damage
And bp will still melt stuff right along side it lol. TBow in Justiciar would be pretty funny.
Toxic blowpipe will be BiS once you hit t6 though until raids/nex. Extra 20 range str when charged and the venom/spec. You can definitely shred GWD bosses and probably everything in raids. But you can just skip T ofc and be perfectly fine.
I'm sure it'll be good ya. I think I still struggle to want to take Tirannwn though lol.
"A few" *clicks to show more*
*GIANT WALL OF TEXT* lol
-I suspect prayer pen will help with echo bosses.
@@YewJackOSRS Haha yeah sorry for the wall of text ;)
I wasn't offended by your comments about the blowpipe. I just felt like your analysis of leagues so far was pretty good, but this time I felt like you missed the mark on quite a few points in this video, so that's whay I wanted to let you know!
That magic execute on tier 6 is wild for PVP if it works there
I hadn't thought about it.... Surely it doesn't right? lol
@@YewJackOSRS magic's 40% inc dmg by waiting 8t and magic's execute do NOT have the line mentioning (PvM only) like Melee t2 and Range t6... :)
@@Me_Sean And I'm no longer going Wildy. 😅
@@YewJackOSRS Oh yeah, didn't even factor in the extra healing from the passive. Good shout!
For range, 1t Bp that doesn’t miss with masori and the frem jewelry is probably like 12’s nonstop. To put that in perspectives, that’s like your tbow never hitting under 60
True - so long as you can stand completely still lol
new yew jack upload. the day is saved
❤️
Keeping that in mind.... KEEPING THAT IN MIND
Did you remember to keep that in mind?
Bro I'm going to look like the biggest rwt with full torva, a scythe, an infernal maxcape(hopefully) and a fucking regen bracelet
And isn't that the leagues dream right there lol
Worth pointing out my entire plan is to do colosseum so I WILL get 6/4 with Varlamore unlocked or die trying lmao
@@YewJackOSRS I think the elemental weakness adds to nuke potential but they need to have something else to abuse of elemental weakness, otherwise it is just so fringe it's not worth it.
But yeah, I guess nuke machinegun exists too lol.
@@drkrn I'm in for a similar ride. I'll be 6/3 vs Echo Sol and either get 6/4 or rage quit and make a 2nd account build lol.
Can’t wait to watch saving it for tomorrow so I can easily kill half an hour at work. Thanks for your contribution. ❤
Enjoy! :D
like the format but one thing id suggest is on the pages with speed increases. youve put the % for how much time (how many ticks) are removed, which is fine.
@@YewJackOSRS but either way bro, thanks for replying. makes a diff.
3k kills on her between the last 2 leagues with no drop yet
oof. Hopefully this time will be the one.
@@YewJackOSRS Update on this. it took 1551 KC this leagues but I finally got the Hellpuppy!
@@Rakru_hound That is a lot of KC for leagues, but for the pet. Not too bad I suppose lol. Gz either way. :)
The mage is going to be extremely beneficial when you look at using blood spells to heal along with the other benefits.
True. You'll always max on lower hp stuff (lower hp being like 50-60 maybe with blood barrage). Lots and lots of healing potential there.
I’ve been planning to go Morytania, Fremmy, Kourend.
Thinking I want to go T6 Melee, T3 Mage, and T1 Range.
Should be good! M/F just by themselves will give you a killer melee setup to work with. I really like this time around that you can do like 1 or 2 areas for a core build. Gives a lot of flexibility for the 3rd pick.
I think I heard the multi echo of melee tier 6 is always 50% of the original hit. Is that right?
yea this league is gonna be friggin sweet. so many possible builds. what build you thinking?
Right now I'm thinking VZF. Get some early moons stuff to play around with. Take on an early hespori. Maybe get into raids for a little then push onto the dag kings. Wrap up with an echo sol (hopefully).
If I have enough time I'd love to do a second build for the range tank. I think that one looks really fun too.
Sunlight Spear might benefit a lot from T6 too if the Echo hits generate a Sunlight Stack each, could be super interesting! But 5/5 would be so good for 2 tick TBow 😭
Decisions decisions. :p
I kept telling myself I wasn't going to go fremmy. But now that hybriding is going to be insane, I have finally folded.
New plan:
AMF 6/4 Melee/Mage
Oo a mage split. Interesting choice.
@YewJackOSRS now that I look at the masteries again. Karil's as secondary could be kinda busted. This is why we love league's.
I'm holding out for that spec relic lol. I do agree though. Godswords are getting some good value out of the atk speed stuffs.
so with the rounding on ranged weapons, the 3 tick weapons with t5 only being 1 tick faster means that they still attack at 2 ticks when put on accurate, meaning they get the increased max hit, without losing any speed, so while not as huge of an improvement as becoming a tick faster, it's still something at least
also melee mastery t6 means that scythe can hit up to 27 times, not 24, up to 8 echos per hit, plus the original 1, 9 each, scythe hits 3 times, 27 total
keeping fremmy at s tier has to be a meme, it's basically pointless unless you're specifically going mage and range only and aren't picking any region with a dt2 boss for some reason, but at that point you're taking wilderness, frem. and kandarin so you've got bigger issues to worry about
Ya, that's fair. Scythe hits are going to be crazy. I doubt all of the hit splats will even render lol.
Also im gonna say this, kalphite for range with teir 6 passive is free, and the echo bosses will have prayer protection
Bp will melt everything. +the prayer pen and guaranteed hits will make sure it literally melts everything.
Big question will the wildy wepons aoe cause echo too spawn? 18:35
So the base hits of the weapon can echo and the echo can lighting, but the lighting cannot echo. Hopefully that makes sense lol
6/3/1 with range being 3 is pretty strong if you have bp. makes bp 1t which is just super fking strong
Ya. Range at 3 is just crazy good cause you have so many options available to you.
100% ranged accuracy takes the idea of a ranged tank to an absurd level.
No joke!
@@YewJackOSRS Since we have no Pernix in osrs, I guess Torva will just have to do. 😂
Or could get justi from tob
Can you make darts without having the desert unlocked? Id love to run around in barrows/justi with a toxic blowpipe
This. Changes. Everything! -- lol. Sounds like a good route though. :D
Would mean other styles are weaker but if you're not too worried about that then think it'll be a good time.
i was planning on varla and just avoiding echo sol but now im changing regions all together i might even change combat style
I wonder if T6 range would be any good against sol. I think the BP is going to heal an absolute ton, so you'd probably have a lot of room for error if you decided to go that route.
@ i have zero raid, coliseum, or inferno experience i highly doubt i have a chance but i appreciate the optimism
honestly, i think the hardest part isnt going to be deciding which tree i want to take all the way. the hard part is deciding if i want to dump all 4 extra combast masteries into one style, or spread them out. or hell, even give up the final ranged one (because we have double accuracy already) and getting a second style to have that super increased attack speed.
i will say, i am kinda dissapointed there isnt anything to do with special attacks though.
Can still hold out a bit of hope. We don't have the combat relic tier yet.
@@YewJackOSRS im hyped for it :D
so the tier 6 magic mastery has really good synergy with the kandarin item against things that are weak to elemental spells. since water spells will do 3x damage against fire giants, it should be pretty easy to get your max hit high enough to surpass their maximum health pool. and once you get there, every attack will kill the fire giant in one shot no questions asked
even on things with less extreme weakness like barrows brothers will still be good. the barrows brothers in particular will really benefit from the tier 2 magic mastery. because the time it takes to go to every hill will be enough to supercharge your next attack by 40%. and once again, your max hit will surpass their max health so it will kill all of them in 1 shot. im looking forward to 1 shotting all the barrows brothers and then using the stash teleport to open the chest. it will be like 20 seconds per barrows run
That's a good point. I suppose you don't need to be wailing on some high hp boss to feel the power of the magic build. Turn lesser bosses into low level mobs at that point lol.
strange choice that the Tier 6 for Range and Mage is consistency boost wheras Melee get an absurd amount of RNG added to their DPS
Who doesn't love a bit of RNG on top of RNG 😅
This style of video is 🧑🍳👌. Amazing.
❤️
I could totally see it being viable to go 5/5 instead of 6/4, the attack speed from t5 is nutty
Ya. Lot of options you could play around with.
@yewjack Is there any word on Tier 6 mage being pvp? And tier 6 passive Pray Penetration being pvp?
Well, it doesn't say it can't be used in pvp...... 😅
I think you are really going to want a T6 for echo bosses
Hard to say for sure, but I assume it'll make it much easier.
Tier 2 mage doesn't say 'in combat' so you start each fight with a big hit
True. If they die on the first hit then you aren't worried about attacking too fast. :p
darts and knives area also 1t which are very accessible
Ya. I completely forgot knives are a thing in this game lol.
