I've worked 50 years whilst bringing up a family, never claimed a penny apart from child benefit, My pension is £3.05 over the threshold for pension credit, why on earth did I bother?
Answering the 243 tick box questionnaire is another reason not to apply for pension credit......and that's done on purpose.... I wonder why?????......Good luck to you though I'm in the same predicament...👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

People who get pension credit , get about £4 a week less than people who worked all their lives and get full state pension

Have to ask the question why are we still allowing illegal immigrants to arrive? Is it because we are effectively providing incentives by way of food lodging, spending money and free SIM cards? Our pensioners are having to do without their fuel allowance yet we can still afford to allow hundreds if not thousands of illegal immigrants to arrive on our shores. Clearly the UK government is no longer even attempting to look after the best interests of UK citizens........In my mind that makes it not fit for purpose.

You may be correct. SIM cards can be had for £6 pcm. £60,000 pcm amounts to 10,000 cards at £6 each. It's hard to believe the numbers are limited to 10,000 cards.

At the same time pensioners are having their fuel allowance reduced, looks like bus passes to be cut, single council tax going. This is £60 ,000 a month is just the phone. £45 spending allowance for what ? . They have food , heating, tv, free medical care and more ( £45 per week x 52 = £2340 a year) why government complains about pensioners are wasting £300.
But how much is everything we pay for to like clothes, furniture, health care, food, spending money, SIM cards, then we have hotel accommodation
