Hey man, I got a 2015 KX250F and I’m having some problems with it and I’m wondering if you’d know what’s wrong. My dirt bike won’t idle for longer than 10 seconds and then it shuts off, and when I turn the choke on it idles SUPER high like it’s being revved, and it’s been leaking oil for a few days. Any ideas?
Where is it leaking oil from?
Have you tried to turn your choke knob to adjust the idle? Count how many clicks you go one way or the other to know where your starting point is. Hope this helps. It sounds like your idle might be too high.
Leaking oil can be also a sign that you need to change the gasket in the oil bowl or your oil bowl is cracked you need to check for any cracks and for the idle find the idle needle and twist it with a screw driver make sure the bike is turned on while you are adjusting the idle another problem can be that the carburetor is clogged so go check and clean it. Hope this helps😊
The reason why it shuts off could be the carburetor. Check it. Either a new one could be needed or just some fixing
Adjust the knob counter clock wise one turn at a time. The choke makes it rev higher after a few seconds that’s normal. I have an 18 kx250f. Idk about that book leak tho

If thats the 24 its the same motor as the 23. And the 23 makes more power, more torque, revvs higher, and has longer gears than the 21. They updated the motor in 23 so id guess the 24 is the exact same motor. Soooo.... idk what the difference would be over the 23. The only thing people say is the bottem end had slightly less power but for a split second. Once ur off the bottem it pulls hard and revs to the moon. But yea. I got a 23 and that thing flys. I had a 19 as well and its definitely faster than that was.
My bike in this video is a 21. I test rode a friends 23 in a previous video and it had noticeably less bottom end power. I was shocked how slow it felt off the bottom. He had a full pro circuit pipe and the white coupler on it which I believe may have made it run a little too lean down low causing lack of power. That's my only guess why it felt so much slower.
@DerekHallman yea I had a 19 and I just rode my nephews 17 the other day to help him over some train tracks. The 23 I have Def has alot more mellow bottom but I'm pretty sure it's the longer gearing. They do build power once ur off the bottom. It makes the cornering easier in 3rd and 2nd since its not as barkey. Just gotta use the clutch a bit more on the 23 to get the power on bottem, but once u get up off the bottom end it rips mid and top. N it revs to the moon.

I love my 250fx revs to the moon. Shifting so much less then my 2 stroke
yeah these 4 strokes require much less shifting. One of the many reasons they took over the moto world 🔥
@@DerekHallman both are so different I find it hard to even compare one to the other. Been trying to explain this to my wife haha. she’s starting to get the hint I want another 2 stroke and keep my current FX lol

@@DerekHallman no issues so far, has been a great bike. Have only ridden it with the aggressive white map plug in it. Have you you tried out the green or black plug yet? If you have Is it a noticeable difference between them?

@@SteezyMcneezy I bought the different colored plugs on eBay and tested them out they definitely all feel different! I generally prefer the green one (that's what I used in this video) because the throttle response feels smoother/less jerky, but the white one feels better on deeper sand tracks
my friend said he'll no longer be my friend if i get one, but the new KX250F's just look so good that i might take that chance

I’m 6’2 and 165lbs, I was looking at buying a ktm 150sx for race reasons and also that it would fit me better, and since it’s got that lower end power then a 125, u ride and own one for a long time, should I buy one instead of a 125?
that depends on what class you're planning on racing in. I think 150s are not allowed in the 125 class. That being said, the 150 is awesome and definitely recommend it.

Fun fact. Kawasaki is the only bike you can lower the foot pegs on (to my knowledge) you can unbolt the brackets and lower them makes the bike 1000x better in my opinion. Also get some titanium foot pegs. Well worth the money
Yamaha 2024 and 2025 have now done the same thing! It's so nice! Makes a world of difference 😅
Titanium pegs are better? Why? Seems like a lot of money for very little gain in weight/strength to me, I’ve never had a problem with stock pegs.
@@cw3728 the width and sharpness is what makes them worth it. Feet stick to the pegs a lot better gives a lot more confidence to ride on the balls of your feet

Kawasaki and the other manufacturers put alot of research and development into the engine on these race bikes. When you make changes, such as an exhaust, you may actually make your bike slower. The staff at fmf and pro circuit build pipes for sound and looks. If you ask them for a horsepower chart they cant produce it because they don't even test it.

Had a 2020 kx250f which initially brought me to your channel. Since got a 21 yz250fx and now got a 2024 yz250f twin air flo kit, fmf system and vortex by xpr on the way 🎉
I gotta ask, how do you like the 24 compared to the 21? Should I upgrade my 22 yz250f to the new gen?
Derek my man the foot pegs are adjustable and so are the bars. i prefer Renthal 996 really makes the cockpit perfect and mx34s are game changing on the kx models
I tried to move the footpeg mounts to the lower position but Kawasaki threads suck so bad I can't get the bolts in without stripping it lol
I thought kx was 2 stroke
the tires feel way better cause there the mx3s but dunlop discontinued them for some reason
I have the cheapo rocky mountain tusk tires on this bike and they feel great!
