I mean that's like me forcing wide color on my sony it would be extremely colorful and saturated in sdr content which I can do.

Just picked up a 65” QN85a for $1100 open box with my employee discount. I returned a 65” Vizio OLED H1 and I’ve had it for about two weeks now and am extremely pleased. No DSE or banding or issues with VRR 4K 120hz HDR.
I've found the Game HDR (HGIG) only works well on certain games, when I have HGIG on forza horizon 5, the whites/sun are clipping massively and I personally think it's better with Game HDR (HGIG) off on certain games especially forza horizon 5, the only way I can have Game HDR working without clipping is by dropping Contrast between 35/40. The issue is that the contrast drops the brightness of the whole screen, so recommend to adjust brightness in game, for example in FH5 the default brightness is 300, I recommend between 190/250 depending on how you have set up your TV, I usually have mine around 200 depending on how bright my room is at the time.

Since few updates I've actually changed my settings, you want my current settings I have a couple and see what you think you? You can always revert back if you don't like it as its down to personal preference. The clipping is caused because DTM is always on and unbeatable, Game HDR (HGIG) should disable it like other tvs but on samsung it doesnt.

I've seen people like HDTV test say put contrast to 45 due to clipping, then I've seen gaming tech say in game mode put it to 43 and for movie mode put it to 50 for HDR. But honestly I'm not sure. Right now I'm watching a movie and this is my settings for HDR in movie mode Brightness 50 Contrast 50 Color 25 Tone warm 2 Dimming high Everything else untouched.

For HDR Gaming I currently use these setting: Brightness - 50 Contrast - 50 Colour - 28 Local Dimming - Low (LD High is just awful in game mode and dims the screen too much and your get discolouration in dark scenes and it's very noticeable putting LD low is the only way to cure it) Contrast Enchancer - Low (to bring the brightness back from having LD on low) ST2084 - - 2 Shadow Details - - 3 or - 4 Colour Space - Auto Game HDR - On Settings 2 for Gaming HDR (if you want a brighter picture) Brightness - 50 Contrast - 44 Colour - 30 Local Dimming - Low Contrast Enchancer - High ST2084 on - 3 Shadow Details on - 5 Colour Space - Auto Game HDR - On Settings for SDR Games: Brightness - 20-25 (pick what you seem fit) Contrast - 45 Colour - 28 LD - Low CE - Low BT1886 on - 1 Shadow Detail on 0 or - 1 Colour Space - Auto Movie HDR setting: Brightness - 50 Contrast - 44 (helps with highlight clipping but you can still use 50 if you want) Colour - 25-30 LD - High CE - Off (can put on Low if you want a brighter image) ST2084 on - 2(-3 if you have CE on low) Shadow Details - 0 (you can lower this as you like, probably - 1/2 if you use CE low) Just make sure you adjust in game brightness etc and that HDR calibration are setup correctly on your console(s)

Makes total sense now why the color looks that way they force it to native. You should tell fomo. He keeps showing the game mode on Samsung against other tvs with neon green. He hates the neon green this would help him out alot lol He doesn't know he needs to change it to auto. That's exactly why Samsung always looks so colorful if you put it in auto it goes to normal color spaces. Native forces it into wide color even for sdr content. It would be like me forcing dcip3-bt2020 in sdr content which would give that look but wouldn't be correct on my sony. People don't understand you have this option on both Samsung and Sony. Lg also does native but it doesn't push the color as much as Samsung.
Oh man. I spent literally 7 days learning how this TV picture settings behave. Finally happy with the settings, no saturated colors and amazing HDR Impact. I can say that OLED Sony A90J inspired me with HDR impact and then this QN90A has amazing HDR once setup correctly.

Yea, everyone who loves oled goes crazy for contrast, which is great in hdr, but you really need brightness to make sdr have impact. I might have to pick this tv up again for sdr gameing. The hdr is also great, but for sdr games, no tv ive seen competes. Honestly feel like this tv matches the c1 in alot of sceness unless its a dark scene with small specular highlights, then oled wins.

Allow YCC422 is worse, you want this unchecked. 10 bit YCC420 will look better than 8 bit YCC422 for example . You only check this if you image looks severely off

I forgot to do that in this video, but it is not that bad at 10 on this TV. But zero is something preferred for 4K content as it is already sharp enough so no need to add extra sharpness

Don’t match the white boards or you’ll blow out the image. Samsung doesn’t play well with the Xbox HDR calibration. Press RT/LT/LB/RB together and the Xbox will tell you the nit output. Just match that to your TV.
Those are good settings but i dont know if thats the case for my tv. I have a non Qled samsung nu6900 and if i leave the contrast enhancer off then the screen becomes Very dimmed out on HDR. I considered what others said put the gamma at +3 while that does take away the dimming, i end up with a washed out foggy looking picture. Any advice for this? kindest regards thank you

It actually differs TV by TV. I had an amazing disc called Dinsey Wow , if you can get that it will help you dial in your TV properly for contrast and brightness.
Hello, I have the PS5 with the TV QE43QN90AATXXC -QN90A I don't have 120hz in the playstation I did everything it doesn't change anything I'm in 60Hz even in all the game mode settings etc. I plugged in the HDMI on the 4th port do I need a 2.1 cable Mandatory? That of the Ps5 is the cable only a 2.0 or a 2.1?
I also had 55" before and it was 4k 2160p. Try to force the game mode and see if it works. Make sure you are connected to HDMi port 4 which has game controller logo on it.
No perfimiter standard is a failure in securing .They need to adopt a long range adoption . Anyone know a rifle has this capable tof shooting tthese range should adopt better range secured perrimeter around the area if there having outdoor event . This is reckless and needs to rectify some changes that enforce long range rifle areas as part of there security aarea.
Lots of people have had video and audio dropouts with these tvs including myself. I have qn95a. It has all 4 hdmi ports with 2.1. I've tried 3 different certified ultra high speed 8k cables and still intermittent dropouts are happening.
The box thing overheats and causes random drop outs for a few secounds i brought a cheap laptop cooling pad which connects via hdmi and only powers up when i switch tv on....it fixed all my issues no more drops outs or anything
Been 6 months almost and My gamma won’t change and my God damn HDR won’t turn on. It’s a brand new 2022 I think or 2021 Samsung QLED 55’ ment for the Xbox series x it was hooked up to one on display but can’t get the gamma or game bar HDR to not be greyed out and it’s been 6 months I can’t figure it out.
How can you game at night without brightness optimizations?! Its like the best setting for everyday use. I have it set to 11 just to make sure I dont go blind when it gets dark while still enjoying peak brightness during the day.

Shaking? There wasn't any tearing on the TV . I have this recorded from my camera directly focusing on the screen and when you watch that in 24fps via camera recoding maybe you feel that way. I was playing it in performance setting at 60fps and it was smooth
To check info just need to press play for 2 seconds, it will pop game bar. Also if you click the source xbox icon it will also show the info above screen.

Game mode HDR should be off not on. With it on the HDR becomes strong imo.
increasing the gamma 2084 value from 0 to plus 3 gives a brighter accurate image in case you find the default too dim

QLED has 100% color volume and native is a big no for me. Looks amazing on Auto.

Yes that's FPS which is 60 max for many games on xbox. That's refresh rate which is 120hz.

I put contrast enhancer at low because turning it off makes the screen too dim. I have th QN90B and it doesnt blowout the highlight that much.

You can use contrast enhancer to increase visibility. New models are very bright, so we don't have to apply contrast enhancer.

That box thing u connect your cables to over heats....i brought a cheap laptop cooling pad it fixed that problem for me
I can't see on the game bar the freesync premium pro, it only show freesync premium... Normaly the qn95a work with freesync premium pro ?
ever tried setting the xbox and the qn90a with a receiver ? for some reason the sound keeps reverting to tv instead of the receiver.
There's an audio option that lets you switch between devices. I've actually had it get bugged a couple times where it plays out of both.

Hi there I followed your instructions and it still stays at 2560 x 1440 Under PC resolution I have a 55 inch Qn90 Don’t know if that matters
I also had 55" before and it was 4k 2160p. Try to force the game mode and see if it works. Make sure you are connected to HDMi port 4 which has game controller logo on it.

No perfimiter standard is a failure in securing .They need to adopt a long range adoption . Anyone know a rifle has this capable tof shooting tthese range should adopt better range secured perrimeter around the area if there having outdoor event . This is reckless and needs to rectify some changes that enforce long range rifle areas as part of there security aarea.
Lots of people have had video and audio dropouts with these tvs including myself. I have qn95a. It has all 4 hdmi ports with 2.1. I've tried 3 different certified ultra high speed 8k cables and still intermittent dropouts are happening.
The box thing overheats and causes random drop outs for a few secounds i brought a cheap laptop cooling pad which connects via hdmi and only powers up when i switch tv on....it fixed all my issues no more drops outs or anything

Been 6 months almost and My gamma won’t change and my God damn HDR won’t turn on. It’s a brand new 2022 I think or 2021 Samsung QLED 55’ ment for the Xbox series x it was hooked up to one on display but can’t get the gamma or game bar HDR to not be greyed out and it’s been 6 months I can’t figure it out.

How can you game at night without brightness optimizations?! Its like the best setting for everyday use. I have it set to 11 just to make sure I dont go blind when it gets dark while still enjoying peak brightness during the day.

Shaking? There wasn't any tearing on the TV . I have this recorded from my camera directly focusing on the screen and when you watch that in 24fps via camera recoding maybe you feel that way. I was playing it in performance setting at 60fps and it was smooth

The FPS counter on this tv is worthless. Playing a game I know is capped at 30 fps but the counter says 120.
use 8 10 or 12 bit in xsx
Don't use 12. Keep it at 10bit.

To check info just need to press play for 2 seconds, it will pop game bar. Also if you click the source xbox icon it will also show the info above screen.

On menus the colors is greyed out. Any fix?
