    I hoped that I would not be disappointed with BMW again, but their design team have done it again.

      @@AdamChandler86 Possible, but the looks are not great. I would anyday prefer the 1250 GSA over this. They copied what Triump did with the Tiger 1200 lineup. The previous generation Tiger 1200 looks amazing when compared to the newer one. Some bikes looks better when they are beefy.

    I think I'll go for the Trophy, and then add all the options I want. Love that color.

    I just traded in my 2014 R1200GS for a 2023 GS. I got a $2500 discount which is why I pulled the trigger. And the 1250 is an improvement for me. But…..I hope I don’t regret doing so instead of waiting for the 1300. I try not to get caught up in the latest/newest/shiniest mentality. But with all the hype it’s hard not to feel bad about it. 😢

      It'll be a tough call for me. I'm always transparent with you all here. It's likely that in November of 2024, the R1250GSA will be sitting on showroom floors as R1300GSAs are rolling in. BMW will offer 0-.9% interest and unpublished rebates of $3-4K on leftover 2024 model year GSAs to dealers and I'll be able to buy one for around $19K interest free.
      In addition, a healthy aftermarket with lots of proven accessories available to me.
      However, if my main sponsors (sergeant seats, Twisted throttle, Clearwater, Altrider, Jesse luggage and a few others tell me they're only going to offer me parts if I can install them on an R1300GS then the savings of going R1250 (which I'm totally stoked for) will be higher than buying an R1300 and accepting greatly reduced or free items for it.
      I'm assuming viewers also are more interested in seeing me outfit a 1300. So I'm whatever about the new bike...honestly. But if I get a lot of great cheap accessories and you all are happy seeing a new bike, that's what I'll do. I won't really know how this all plays out until next year when the new GSA is announced.

    The video seems a bit dark, wonder if it is was on purpose/ filter. Slowing down of movement around the bike would be good.

    • @AdamChandler86
      @AdamChandler86  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Some people (like me) agree and for that, I usually mute the video and in the player set the speed to .25x. It works well. I’ve tried slowed down video before and people complain but the TH-cam player supports it.

    I see one of these in my near future. I may break my "no first year" rule. I don't get the negative reaction to the headlight, but it's subjective. Functionally, bmw seems to have hit all the marks.

    If you choose the Enduro Package Pro you get body mounted blinkers from the factory.

    Adam, good overview. For next time see if you can shed some light if basic DIY maintenance is still pretty simple for oil/filter/final drive/air filter change and battery removal. Also, will it still require valve adjustment and at what intervals, and if it still has a single cooling fan. I like the headlight, but it looks “Predator”…it will be interesting to what the aftermarket comes up with for a headlight guard. I probably wouldn’t mind trading my 2020 GSA in 2026 for a GS Triple Black model as a 70th birthday present 😎. By then BMW and the aftermarket will have adapted a mature line of product options.

      It looks like the oil filer is in oil. It’s behind a cover with two T20 screws. The new skid plate has holes on the bottom so you can drain the oil without removing the pan. they are using a vertical sight glass now for oil level to take the ambiguity out of “is it too much oil?” Questions. air filter = TBD but it’s probably under the smartphone holder. As for valves and final drive, I haven’t heard anything yet .

    No wireless charger, the USB plug in under the rubber mat and it rotates. I bought a f7580gs after your review. Now your trying to get me into trouble buying a 1300

      Thanks for the extra info. You already have a great bike. Maybe wait for a 1300GS refresh in 4 years? It's a new platform so who knows what kinks they'll have to work out.

      I’m considering doing the same. Next fall, the 1250GSA will be discontinued. Any leftovers I can probably get for 0% interest and $3K off MSRP. Also most of my 1200GS parts (shocks, lights, protective bits) will transfer over.
