  • Hello and Happy New Year! :)
    This is the requested transcription I've done of the Rolling Stones song "Hand of Fate" from their 1976 album "Black and Blue". Bill Wyman was the bass player on this track.
    You can find this transcription at Muzento when you sign up with an Intermediate Lesson Plan.
    This is one of those B side gems for me. If I were to list my favorite Stones songs, this probably wouldn't have made the list, until now! I really enjoyed learning and practicing this one. They came up with such a good feel. It just chugs along...good ol' blues-based rock and roll :)
    I hope you enjoy it. Don't forget to "like" and "subscribe" and thanks for watching :)

    Do you have it on the bridge pickup? I’ve noticed that wymans tone is very distinct on stones records, and I knew he used a fretless alot of the time as well as played with a pick, but could it be that he used a “bridge pickup” kind of sound too?

      I very rarely adjust my pickup controls. They're usually both up full along with the tone control. I hope that helps.

    Hi Greg !
    Would you consider playing :
    與荒野 from Chen Hongyu ?
    It is my all time favourite bass line, I wish more people could discover this band

    Cool tune-I like the change up at the bridge, but are you sure Bill played on this? On so many songs he didn't actually record the bass,.

    • @BassCovers
      @BassCovers  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey Harc, I like this tune too. I'm pretty sure Bill played on this? I wasn't there, but according to Wikipedia he did ;)

      @@BassCovers Yeah- hard to tell, but my guess is this is Ron Wood on bass- sounds like his style. Happy New Year!

    • @BassCovers
      @BassCovers  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      hey Harc, hmmm, I think I have to disagree with you on that. I heard/saw a live performance of the Stones doing this tune from the 70's and he was playing the part pretty close to what was on the album. So unless Ron Wood taught him the bass line (which I doubt), I'd have to say this was all Bill Wyman. I of course could be totally wrong :)...thanks!

    • @BassCovers
      @BassCovers  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've been thinking...there's no reason it couldn't be that Ron showed him how to play this. The line is a little unique and not a "typical" bass line...hmmm :)
