Trains at: Acton Bridge, WCML, 13/04/16

- An absolutely fantastic afternoon spent at Acton Bridge on the West Coast Mainline where we see plenty of services from Virgin Trains, London Midland and various freight from DB Cargo UK and Freightliner including a gorgeous sounding class 70
This was my first time here and I really wasn't disappointed although in my opinion Cheddington is a much better station for action like this.
Joining me today was Scousetrainspotter1999, I encourage you to check out his channel he has some excellent content for you to watch.
My next station is Hartford just a few miles up the line.

Great film. The freight was a delight, especially the 70. Fo a small station like Acton Bridge you can only work with what comes through and you did a good job

Awesome video. The class 70 sounds the beast of all diesel locomotives there is om British Railways :)

You was right about 70004 on the daventry to Coatbridge sounded so georgious and also quick screamy
I've always loved the sound of a 70 when it's approaching

The 350's seem to be going further afield I remember when they were first introduced they only went to Milton Keynes Northampton and Birmingham New Street
eventually you'll see a lot of TOC's up north running 350's when they get handed down to be replaced with something better
Hi Tornado i know you've been down south already but it would be great to see you do a video at Eastleigh, Just out of Southampton as there is a massive depot there and plenty of traffic aswell Thanks :)
When I went filming at Southampton I looked at Eastleigh when I was passing through and it does look like a fantastic station to film at, I've seen several films from there in the past and there always seems to be a great variety in traffic passing through. I will go there at some point but I'm not sure when

Acton Bridge looks amazing. Tornado I would recommend maybe Hanwell or Maidenhead at somepoint?
It is a great station to film at but personally I think Cheddington is a better station to film at. I can look into those stations when I get the opportunity
+Tornado922 One thing to bear in mind, is that Hanwell(in my opinion) looks better but Hanwell isn't open on Sundays. Also try Redhill on the Redhill Line, you'll get plenty of trains such as 165s, 166s, 319s, the odd 375, 377s and 387s.

the set number 117 was quite popular. 66117 then 221117 then 350117
and 390117 as well!

i think the speed issue is something to do with the flickering orange signal
One thing I noticed was that a lot of the services coming up from Crewe were running on the slower line and not the faster one. I was wondering if there was an issue with that section of the line

the London midland units have destination boards on the front and rear as do the Voyagers

I don't know when I will be going to those stations but if I were to it would be on a week day as that's when I have my days off from work
Where do trains go when they come on track 1 (opposite side of the platform)? Notice only freights do that.
I think it's just an extra line to put the freight traffic on when the line gets busy
Very nice video! I'm going to London this summer, and would like to ask, is it okay to film in a station platform without a ticket(if there is not ticket barriers) or is it needed? My other question is, what do you think are the best train spots in the London area or near it?
Thanks very much I'm glad you enjoyed it :) in all honesty it depends on what stations you want to go to? If you let me know which ones your thinking of then I'll be able to help you :) Watford Junction, Stratford Regional and International and St Pancras International are all great stations to film at in and around London. I also highly recommend Clapham Junction
+Tornado922 I really haven't thought about it much but I might go to Stratford, Clapham Junction or Kensington Olympia. I don't know if I'm going somewhere else but those are the ones that I've considered.
Finnish Railways Stratford Regional and Clapham Junction you'll be fine at, but I'm not to sure about Kensington Olympia
+Tornado922 Well, I just saw a video, where a guy was filming in Stratford, and a staff member told him that filming is prohibited at Stratford(hopefully that's not true). I'm assuming there's chance of problems in every active station then.
Finnish Railways well I have been filming at Stratford International and Stratford regional and both stations I have experienced no issues with the staff there. A lot of the time I'm standing well out of the way of the regular commuters and station workers so their faces can never be clearly seen. If the staff know I'm just trainspotting then they are usually fine with me. Just some stations you would probably be better off just informing them first.
