The ticking clock effect is bonkers.
I know right, it's in near every song.
never noticed till you said. go kill time!
Very clever how its "Out of Tartarus" in the first game, and "Into Tartarus" here
s(he) be(lie)ve(d) level observation
@@makaroninini s be ve
alright it's not THAT clever
@@IveNeverStoodUp Exactly. _Just_ clever. It wasn't the hardest of jumps.
Can't believe we're fighting tooth and nail to go there now...
I love the way it sets up your infiltration almost like a heist, with you needing to enter via a backdoor and setting an express route of the different passageways, all that time Zagreus was helping his dad beef up defenses is now working against you
@@gavo7911wait that makes so much sense. I had thought that the enemies were only made stronger by Cronos but no, hades made them stronger because of zag’s work
The way that this builds up as you make your way closer and closer, the callback to the first game, the fact that there are several room layouts are literally the same as Tartarus rooms in H1 but you go through them backwards...truly amazing. Really gets you hype for the final fight.
I didn't realize until my second time through it, but a lot of the changes aren't from Chronos either. A lot of the changes to Tartarus was likely due to Zagreus and Hades actually upgrading the place
Especially with the Charon shop being the starting room from Hades 1
The theme of entering a room only to immediately get targeted by a comically large amount of lasers
No traitor to the House shall go unpunished.
Death to Chronos!
Judy Alice Lee better win all the awards, Mel's voice lines really take this game to the next level
@@StaunchKillah I heard her from the bloody He-Man reboot and thought she was rubbish
And then SuperGiant comes in like Superman and makes me realise she's f***ing amazing.
AND I CAN STILL HEAR THE E1M1 MELODY
I hear it too lol
The what?
@@isaachunt6694 0:30 is basically the DOOM - E1M1 Theme.
the fact that you guys are circling back around to the formula of having to descend, instead of the ascension theme from the previous game, but in this instance, it feels fresh and new, is extremely impressive lmao
Anabasis and now katabasis
Hooo, this one is an absolute winner.
The callback to Out of Tartarus is *perfection*
this is like if the transistor ost and hades ost made out and had a baby
More like if the Hades soundtrack had a massive headache, so Transistor split its head open and this came out.
It feels like Darren learned what Lunarpunk was and decided yeah let's bring Transistor's cyberpunk music back
@@Firefight_ HA good one
Hearing this the first time I reached Tartarus made me so fucking hyped. Made it feel like I was actually running out of time, but nearly there.
I died of course, but still.
Me too 😁 The first time I reached Tartarus I was having the time of my life jamming to the music. Didn't even mind dying, it was so much fun!
OH I LOVE THE CALLBACK
Gotta say properly my favorite song in the game.
Like the rush you get when you are fully kitted and rushing down the corridors slaughtering everything to reach Chronos. Its amazing
I love the music and level design for the new Tartarus so much , with the music and no rewards on the main rooms but only if you go do a side room it really feels like a rush assault on the Chronos .
Oh fuck I missed that funky electrified baglama and theremin
They did an elder god tier job on making this feel so iconic. I literally screamed "LETS GOOOOO" like a feral dude bro
This is such a bop, and honestly this song is one of the reasons I don't get so frustrated when I get hurt in Tartarus. I'll walk out of some rooms barely clinging to life and going "Well at least the soundtrack was decent." And the way it juxtaposes "Out of Tartarus" from the first game? *chef's kiss*
I love the way this has a very similar chord progression to "At Doom's Gate" creating that assosciation of fighting your way into "hell" while also maintaining its clalbacks to the first game. Absolutely incredible.
If you find your friend in Tartarus, it's got 2 callbacks. Spoilers below.
You meet Hades in Sisiphis' old chamber. Bouldy is there. A remix of In the Blood plays while you converse with him.
the fucking chills i got when i heard this for the first time in-game
I SEE WHAT YOU DID THERE DAREN I SEE
I hear it in every song. The ever ticking metronome. The clock that never stops.
No, I will pull out the hands, face and then cogs if I must to silence it.
Death to Kronos.
The tell tale Kronos
And then she said "I will become the hades 2, into tartarus" 🔥🔥🔥🔥
okay, I figured it out. During the vamp, It's simply a 4/4 groove at a slowish tempo. During the A Melody, (the Tartarus theme from Hades 1), The time switches to 8+8+5 in eighth notes. which can be read as two bars of 4/4 and then one bar of 5/8. After that, the B melody is alternating 4/4 and 7/4 bars. This song is fucking awesome
I have no idea what that means but cool
I still remember the first time I entered Tartarus and was thrown straight into a fight with coin purses shooting lazers and floating hourglasses. It was chaotic and then this beat dropped, and the adrenaline just hit and pumped me up! I died to anyway, but I'll never forget this banger of a track playing with my heart racing.
This is INCREDIBLE. Korb is a madman.
Here it is. The moment we've waited for. Time to take back OUR house, the one we spent all that time upgrading.
Hades really meant it when he wanted Zag to test out his security huh
When I first beat the Region 3 boss and this started playing, I have never more strongly felt "oh, it's fucking on"
ITS THE SAME BUT NOT THE SAME
lowkey whenever I hear that drum sound ingame I actually get so fucking hyped, genuinely one of the best drum sounds in any video game
don’t even get me started on the melody callback
Never would have thought that "Crash bandicoot" plus "Mick Gordon Doom 2016" would result in such greatness but here we are
There are some REALLY strong contenders in this soundtrack but this one has to be my favourite
Running through hell eviscerating everything with a giant axe while Mel is dropping the most metal one-liners and this ridiculous track plays... the Doomguy in my heart shed manly tears
I hope someone does a mash up of both of them because I like the gentleness playfulness of into I've but I love the punchiness and buildup of out.
I like how it takes “Out of Tartarus” and modified it to fit having to work your way towards the final confrontation
Out of Tartarus is one of my favorite tracks from the original Hades, so imagine my excitement when I heard this remix kick in when I finally made it to Tartarus again. Mwah, a beautiful surprise.
I heard this and got transported back to my time fighting N. Tropy in Warped. Good memories. Then the ZoE 2 flashbacks started when Chronos/Anubis kicked my teeth in.
This song gives me HEAVY Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped vibes and I love every second of it.
need this on streaming 🗣💯
This gives me a huge mission impossible vibe every time I break in and i LOVE it!
Oh this is perfect
When I finally entered here with 'THE build' that I knew was going to take that sucker out I was blazing down the halls to this. And someone rightly said there's some elements of crash bandicoot 3 in here that I'm absolutely in love with.
This is just a vibe like you enter tartarus out of the very serene soundtrack from the fields and they hit you with this. It always feels like sht is about to get REAL now.
Can't help but have my brain go "Fury Vanquished" at the end of that track.
Im amazed by the incredible soundtrack. Death to Chronos and long live Supergiant Games
Any Isaac players here think 1:18 sounds familiar? To me it sounds almost exactly like the main theme/motif of TBOI Antibirth. Trips me up every time I hear it LOL
The drums man. The DRUMSSSSSS
Damn this heavily reminds me of FF IX Necron's theme
Speaking of final fantasy FF7 rebirth’s hear the cries of the planet kinda fits chronos cause of the clock sounds
Veteran of Hades POV:
Yeah, now the Tartarus is fun place.
certified banger here
Getting to tartarus solidified this as GOTY for me
0:30 this is DOOM Eternals intro song almost 😅
Ya its definitely inspired by the original 2D doom theme song (and its modern variants ofc)
First time I heard this soundtrack I was thinking " Am I timed in this dungeon?.... Am I fighting against time?" Yes, yes I was.
into fartarus (i shit myself hearing this the first time)
Yeah, the same, and, if you allow me, you have an amazing account image.
The mothership is standing by.
@@Trozomuro real recognises real, and the quantum waveform never dissipates here‼️‼️‼️
This is so Hades but I’m also picking up Crash Bandicoot vibes? What a track
Finnal area in the game who wanna bet ?
most likely
you are correct
as someone who’s been there, yep! sure is!
somehow this sounds like a powerpuff girls remix of the OG score, made me smile while sweating my balls off the whole time
I don't know if anyone is going to see this but, The only complain I have is the missed weapon choice of a whip or boots. Boots for more kicks and speed and a Whip is for creativity. (Bayonetta 1-3) Overall I loved the first hades and I can wait to play the second one.
Death to Chronos \m/ \m/
Hacking Tartarus to form an express route is such a fun idea
Guys my time is running out.
Cya
Why did chronos give the giant living bag of money aimbot?
Its true. Nerf bag of money haha (joke)
@@TheErickgerardothe boss version is seriously OD you better have cracked sprint or dodge behind a wall lol
Yea the miniboss money bag is crazy in how fast he turns when shooting. (Manageable on +0% speed but kinda unavoidable on +40% speed from the fear pact)
@@quintengames3576 chill bruh I can barely beat chronos pactless lol, I eat his golden Oreo cookie scythe spin for breakfast, lunch, dinner and snack lol. I only won twice
@@aspreedacore oh yeah even in my first winning attempt (which was my 3rd try against him) i just could not figure out the tell for that attack and it would just clip me half the time. Dunno how i'm gonna dodge that once i increase the speed of everyone
Death to Chronos!
Anyone else get really strong Crash Bandicoot 3 vibes from this? Or am I officially old for referencing a PlayStation 1 game?
Huh, kinda getting a Binding of Isaac vibe from this one.
GOTY 110%!
