Well Animal Jam is a kids game that was mostly taken by teens and olders and since it was a kids game they wanted to keep the painting game nice and simple, but atleast they made layers

Omg, I AGREE SO MUCH!! It’s so frustrating when I want to turn the canvas but I just can’t! In my honest opinion, it makes my drawings look worse than what they’d normally look like on other softwares 😞
