Do one on Pignite & Snivy next who also had development during their time in Unova & had a history w/Oshawott!
If they just stick w/Oshawott evolving into Dewott then it would've kept its personality & being a strong battler!
Imagine if Oshawott got to meet Greninja who would have such an admire on it such much & wants to get stronger under Greninja's trainer in order to evolve into Dewott & then Samurott!

Ash's Oshawatt was always a shining example of not needing a good battle record to be a memorable Pokemon. He was super hit or (mostly) miss in battle but his personality shot him above most other Ash mons.

Kinda ironic Ash's Oshawott had a fear of opening his eyes underwater, and Ash's gligar had a fear of heights/flying.

Most of Ash's pokemon didn't evolve. Ash is one of those rare trainers who understand that there us more to unlocking a Pokémonsl's true power than evolution, like raising them with live, care, and a recession disregard to his own safety. How many times did Ash let his Pokémon literally use their attacks on him after all?
When Oshawott lost its shell and started training for it, I thought he was gonna evolve.
Would've been cool!
But did t it need its Scalchop or whatever it’s called to evolve? Cause it’s like a part of its body or something?
I noticed right off the bat that oshawott’s personality greatly resembled Dawn’s piplup and thought it would be incredibly entertaining to see them interact. I couldn’t help but imagine would piplup and oshawott be friends or rivals. I guess their departure shows that they were both. It’s relationship and similarities with piplup are why I never want it to evolve.
I loved their rivalry arc, super fun
really showed more personality than i’d ever think from the Bw Sprite. The amount of expressions they were able to do with Oshawatt was amazing, it really WAS the highlight of the Unova Battle (aside from my boy, Lil’Krook)

He’s definitely a comedian moreso than a battler, even though Black and White is still my least favorite series personally, I will admit I personally loved his Oshawott mainly due to how hilarious he was and water is my favorite type, while he definitely wasn’t the best batter, Oshawott was a fun one to watch❣️ 🤭🤣🤣🤣

I remember thinking oshawott was going to be ash’s first water type to fully evolve since it seemed early on they made him seem like he would be ash’s ace (like winning the first gym) but it seems they kinda made krookodile the main powerhouse by the end instead. I understand why though since samurott probably couldn’t pull off the same comic relief vibe and we got greninja the next series anyways, but it still is odd how few of ash’s unova team evolved.

The series may have flaws, but Oshawott really made up for me in cuteness and comedy.
While I find the battles totally lacking, black and white honestly has some of the best personality development of any Pokemon series.

I've personally always had a soft spot for Oshawatt, both because it's quite adorable (even by starter Pokemon standards, in my opinion), as well as because it was always my go-to pick for gen5 as a starter. And while I am aware that a lot of people think that Samurott doesn't make the most sense as a final evolution due to how different it is design-wise from it's previous forms, I've always personally thought it looked like a cool and interesting Pokemon, and I'm also hyped for the new V Star card it's getting, which I think has a lot of promise. Overall, Oshawatt may not be my favorite water type starter ever, but it's still one that I personally think is a bit underrated

Oh man don’t get me started 😂. Osawott is so goofy. From how it was afraid before of opening its eyes in water and also while using aqua jet, sometimes missing. Ash’s Buizel used aqua jet tons of times and it didn’t even phase it, and overtime it got over it. The attacks it used was aqua jet, hydro pump, water gun and razor shell. It wasn’t Ash’s strongest water type but it did have some potential and with training and strategy it did win some battles. And like some of Ash’s male Pokémon, Osawott got turned down by the one it had a crush which was the osawott princess who left it for its evolved form Dewott. And that funny 😄 part from where it thought that Purrlion they met before was a girl when it was a guy, that was the funniest mistake I’ve ever seen in my entire life. There was also that time it lost its scallop and it had to use a rock shaped like it to battle against Stephan’s Blitzle, it had to build up its endurance and strength to hold it together and its useful since rock doesn’t conduct electricity.
I wish Oshawott met buizel. Buizel would be so ashamed of Ash's choice in replacement lol

Fun Fact: Oshawott is the first starter Pokemon Ash caught that wasn’t wild or abandoned by its trainer.

I personally highly doubt that they'll ever have Ash's Rowlet evolve due to it having an everstone (which I think is weird that it's how it uses it's seed bomb attack)

To update, as of the most recent episode, Oshawott made another appearance in which he helped train Sirfetch'd alongside Sceptile and Bulbasaur when Ash returned to Oak's lab. I like the sort of subtle implication that he's become stronger offscreen.

I really wish the writers made Oshawott evolve into Dewott towards the end of the series. It could keep the goofy personality, but have a newfound confidence regarding the scalchop and new moves. It could keep Razor Shell and Aqua Jet, but obtain new powerful moves like X-Scissor. It also would’ve been interesting to see it go against Cameron’s Samurott in this new form to truly test its mettle
I wouldn't have minded if it stayed on the oshawott Island. Finding its true love would have been a great ending

What Oshawott lacked in power he more than made up for in personality. Though I do wish he evolved into Dewott. Not only would he still be able to keep up the same gags due to looking similar enough, evolved Pokemon are taken a bit more seriously in the anime, so he could've won more. He really deserved to catch a break after all that bad luck lol.
Also the love/hate dynamic with Piplup is even funnier once you realize they were both designed by the same person.

Oshawott had the most personality of Ash's Unova Pokemon but played second fiddle to Tepig/Pignite and Snivy in battle.

Oshawott was Satoshi's also known as "Ash Kechum's" greatest Unova region Pokemon monster besides Pikachu and after the battle Oshawott vs Cesar the Dewott I thought Satoshi would have to and will release Oshawott but then a plot twist happened and Oshawott stayed with Satoshi also known as "Ash Kechum".

Professor, I know this is bold but I officially love you for THIS VIDEO. OSHAWOTT is my everything. I have over 15 OSHAWOTT gifs in my phone for ALL occasions.
UNOVA is my favorite region, games, and series of all Pokémon series. The region has great starters but Oshawott is by far the best of all three. I could go on and on about why Oshawott is so great but I tell you, I am so happy to see him here. Thank you for this lecture!

While Gen 5's anime, especially when beside the story of the Gen 5 mainline games, was certainly a low point of the anime in general----Oshawott remains a rare hidden gem.
The battles were meh, but the characters were awesome imo :)
I like your quote “lusting after the ladies”. It’s interesting that Cherrin was a rival in the video game, but in the anime he’s an extra gym leader. I wonder if Oshawott would become a bit of a punk if he were to evolve into a Dewott, and maybe he’ll become more mature and serious as a Samurott.

this is the starter I always picked whenever I had the chance to pick a unova starter, I'll tell ya I always had oshawott in my games and part of that has to do with this one, though to be honest I wish he and meloette actually got in a relationship and meloette offered to stay because she didn't wanna leave him, now that would be interesting to see
