Central State just recently played with Kanye West and Dave Chappelle 2019. That was an awsome moment for this band. Also in 2010 CSU played for President Barack Obama! CSU was also featured in the Dave Chappelle block party movie. And has a Grammy nominated choir. CSU also played for EARTH, WIND, AND FIRE. Central State has many opportunities! PULL UP! See you on the bus!!! Located in Wilberforce Ohio, be different come up NORTH to the IMM!!

@@DevaJones03 the Central State University drumline played for Obama at one of his events that HE put together not the parades that everybody gets invited to play for free by the way and was the only HBCU there that he personally invited and they did a great job that made me have more pride in all of my HBCUs not just for Central State University. This particular band does not need to be made fun of on any level because they do high level things that is respectable across the board NO matter what band you root for that's you and your love. In other words real recognize and and respect real. If you would like to seriously support HBCU marching bands and their culture we are always looking for awesome and talented students! We have scholarships, nice places to stay, and plenty of uniforms! They can go to Centralstate.edu and after that just PULL UP!!

Talladega College good job but I hope ya'll will realize loud does not mean the song sounds good.Ya'll have so much potential and we know you have power but the power is out of control. Show us you can control the power and stop blasting to the point you are out of tune. Tone quality, dynamics and fundamentals is what makes a musician. Musically ya'll have a long way to go. But I do like that power theme song, I can't lie on that one. Great Job everyone. MMW I will see ya'll on Homecoming.

That Maxwell by AAMU!!! MMW was outnumbered but not outplayed! Sound and tune was everything. TC loud but should be they are a large band. But not good tone. 0 and 5th quarter MMW!

@@justcuz3324 I like Talladega's energy, but sometimes they play so loud that it distorts the intended timbre of each instrument and just sounds like noise. They have great moments, but in the same song the accompaniment for the melody is muddy--chords aren't locking. The march that they played was pretty good considering their style.

*A&M sounds pretty cool man. Sound quality, balance, and performance seems there for the most part. The arrangements are also cool. Not a lot of F-horn octaves which is good. I didn't like that long ending note on their 2nd song. --side-question: Flags blocking the musicians from seeing the director?
*Talladega was the most powerful out of these 3. Arrangements are cool. The sound quality/performances need work especially on that first tune. The performances improved some as the battle went on. The long ending notes don't sound good at all (mainly the trumpets). The Tubas are punchy but they need to improve their timing as a section when playing notes. It would give them even more punch.
* Central was pretty rough for the most part. The arrangements were ok but it seemed as if some of the musicians didn't know the music well. Their ending notes on all the songs were good though, no hangovers.
Again thanks for posting. The sound quality and stereo imaging of your gear is pretty good bruh. I feel all bands should use videos like this to critique and improve the performances.

This was truly a good battle, all bands played well. It’s just funny how Talladega step foot in the stadium, and the other bands started playing like they all wanted a piece of them. And regardless of what people say Dega does something to my hometown team ( Southern university) many don’t admit it but it’s true. I notice this every time they come in contact of each other. Dega may not have a foot ball team but they surely get under the skin of some of these other colleges/ universities. Can’t wait for Crankfest 🥰🥰🥰.

The SWAC wins again. AAMU was the cleanest, most balanced, great dynamics, & song selection. CSU the opening number was great song selection but yall got to tune. That blasting trying to be loud...you just don't have the numbers so that's not your game that makes the tuning issue even worse. AAMU that Maxwell OMG hell of a song selection and it sounded beautiful. That piccolo player who i assume is section leader for talladegea....i had a crab brother like that....that's all i'm gon say. who else saw the reject dancers next to CSU??? Talledega isn't bad for a 7 year old band but gotdamn. They need to have more control. I put that on the directors. I know this band gets a ton of hate but they can change that. It never ends well when trumpet players try to do their best Arturo Sandoval impression. And the woodwinds...c'mon. No excuse for being that out of tune. It doesn't sound good at all when bands get too hype and overblow the entire song. C'mon, band. I'm not an SU fan but I give them credit for having some control of their sound even though they tend to show off their size and power too much at times.
