Any bigger than 3/8 and you could have a mouse problem unless you screen them bigger holes, thanks for listing!

I do staple #8 hardware cloth over the holes.

Just a girl...hell you can take Bee stings way better than me. There are a lot of girl mechanics, engineers, carpenters, etc. You won't believe how many boys this day and time have never held a drill-just a phone.

Don’t kid yourself. I remodel homes. Most men I talk to have no idea what they are talking about.

Tip… put you 4 way on 4 cinder blocks. The pallet on the ground is going to rot.

Hahaha, did she really admit that on camera😂 I would still have to disagree with that statement! Im looking at doinh pallets next year myself. I talked to your dad a couple weeks ago when I ordered my huge Hillco equipment set up its almost set up!! I got to quit watching you youtube beekeeping influencers its costing me to much money!!! Thanks for the video!

Did your dad refuse to drill these holes for you, or did you want to do it yourself? If you wanted to do it then you're so skilled with that drill. It's impressive to see you handling it with such confidence and precision. You are more than just a girl. Keep up the great work!

I’m so curious where would you get these types of pallets? Did you add the strips to lift the hives off the pallets or are those built on already? They seem the perfect width! I love this idea for sure! You definitely have some wisdom.

Back in the spring I went to make sure there was activity on a hive out in a fence row on a friends farm and noticed the lid was sitting halfway off, turned out someone had taken 4 frames out of my hive, weird. Nothing else has since happened. Just weird they only took 4 frames out.

I've never had a problem with my stands falling over, of course I buried footers in the ground, built it up level with cinder blocks with a slight pitch forward so the water will drain out of the entrance, then spread out 2 long 4x4 beams across the blocks.

Hi there Natalie. You may not have the American pygmy shrew in Missouri, but I do here in Nova Scotia. The little shew can fit through a 5/8 hole. I dilled holes in my pallets two years ago just like you did in the video. I had to fill the holes this spring because the shrew would go up through the hole in winter (around the mouse guard) and eat the bees. I lost 12 hives last winter to shrew damage. They were my only winter losses, 5%.

Just because you are a girl does not mean anything as far as doing things.
It is the willingness to learn and do different things.
    Keep learning!

I moved mine from the side of the road someone sprayed hornet killer in 1 hive and killed the bees and ruined the honey for me.
