Lateral thinking means thinking out of the box, creative solutions. So he's saying it's not gonna be the most obvious answer, it will require thinking more laterally :)

If you seen his community post, he recently announced that he is sick, so he has to skip other games including daily word games. However, when he recovers, he will definitely play them. Right now, please hope he gets better soon.
