I read House of the Dead, He's such a prolific writer. Whatever that this man faced was something beyond pain and grief and that takes sheer grit and courage. He went through hell with the knowledge of it, though he may seem as a compulsive gambler and a sex addict as person, He has gained immense knowledge and wisdom, which he decided to pen down, and the rest is history.
As a 17 yr old who has read both "The idiot" and "crime and punishment", I feel so proud😂 By the way,I would recommend anyone to read his works...it gets bit boring in times but if you carry on,your life will be changed
bhai i am kinda new to reading things and all .. like haven't read a single philosophical novel or before .. but I kinda getting intrigued by this one idk why TH-cam recommend me or whatever lol .. But man my question is .. can you tell me flow like which should book of doestevesky should I start or even should I start reading this complex author in first place ..!?
@@AnuJ-vu5xn If you haven’t read a single book in your life, start with Indian authors, read fiction, juice up 5-6 books from Indian author. Then come back to me and I’d help you figure out next steps
@@IshanShrestha-p8v it’s not just with reading, we delay doing things with the fear of not doing them optimally. If you don’t get it read it again, what’s the harm.
@@aniketium That's a good perspective, well I think it was 'Oh! I don't know anything' and overwhelming anxiety that kept me stuck. Well, will try, thanks!
@@IshanShrestha-p8vBro you are understanding everything, but youre struggling with the characters as Dostoevsky's works have many of them. I strongly suggest you write down the full names of all the main characters and their relationships with the protagonist(like Raskolnikov in crme and punishment)on a piece of paper and keep it with you while reading his books. This will help you follow the story more easily( full names bcz Dostoevsky sometimes uses first names, last names, or full names for the characters which often confusing readers about whom he is referring to)
I read Crime and punishment for about 40 pages and i left it, thinking this is not the thing for me.
You convinced me to finish it now. Thank You!
