    13:00 if you want a transparent stinger for streamlabs OBS and not OBS studio **THIS IS IMPORTANT** {{{ Set Alpha Mode to straight }}} it was not transparent in premultiplied mode, but that may have just been a me problem.

      @@ScottFichter No, thank you. This video was a BIG help for me, since every other video I found on this topic was just how to ADD a stinger rather then how to make your own. I also lucked out that you used the same editing software I use, so following along was 10 times easier. But SLOBS doesn't have a test feature for stingers, so it was a lot of trial and error getting it to work. I finally figured it out, and because I know I'm not the only SLOBS user, I figured others would stumble on the same hurdle I did.

    Nice tutorial! I've figured it out by luck here and there over the past little while, but always ended up screwing something up the next time I tried it. Turning it into a Fusion clip first is the key! Thanks.
    I think pre multiplied allows for matted/semi transparent edges, but can introduce colour in the background. Straight will go from opaque to transparent with no cutoff but doesn't include an RGB layer, so both have advantage/disadvantage. Use premultiplied if you want soft edges though.

    Great video, but the only downside was the outputted transition was large (118MB) it was causing high cpu & dropped frames. How about adding an extra step between Resolve and OBS with ffmpeg to re-encode the transition (using settings like " ffmpeg -i OLDFILE.mov -c:v libvpx-vp9 -pix_fmt yuva420p NEWFILE.webm ") to lower file size (only 2.5MB now) and then lower cpu & zero dropped frames.

    Hi! Nice Video, but I have a problem. I'm trying to make a logo reveal with a flash-light using the composite mode (dark) on my logo. Everything looks perfect till I save the clip to the file. I need this in the transparent background well I'm using QuickTime - GoPro CineForm - RGB 16-bit with checked box -Export Alpha and data - Full. But the problem is after I export this, the logo is "normally visible" - that's looks like the composite mode got turned off every time. When I'm Doing all the CRUCIAL things that Scott said about them, straight didn't work (after making the new compound clip) my logo lost composite settings. Does anyone know if this is possible to do this other way? Like I said I need a transparent clip with a logo that appears on the flare video clip - show when blinking only- and disappears after. In Timeline everything looks fine.... thank you for any solution

    I kid. I've been binging these like Netflix lately and it's putting a serious dent in my learning curve. You've probably answered most of my questions somewhere already, (like--how do you move your camera box around so many ways so effortlessly!?) and I'm just trying to get caught up. Thanks for making these. SUPER helpful. I'm trying use OBS to supercharge zoom and override its default output. @ScottFichter  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      kjdroz, yes, I had a Mac for a long time but as the machine got older repairs were needed and the costs to keep it running did not make sense. I decided to build my own PC and I have not looked back. You are 100% correct OBS has a closer relationship to PC than Mac in my opinion. Many have asked that I make a video about connecting OBS to Zoom. I see now that I need to make a video about this sooner than later. Consider Liorianbaord as a replacement for Stream Deck. th-cam.com/video/hS-4R3jGpS8/w-d-xo.html . I use special software called Camtaisa to edit my videos. @@ScottFichter thanks again, for your thoughtful reply. The challenge with zoom right now is figuring out how to create masks for various configurations. Like… if there are two people talking (host and guest) in a large gallery, how do I route the host and speaker into a new scene, formatted with OBS goodies like lower thirds and mind blowing accommodations to make the guest feel like they are on a TV talk show? I’m starting with just getting the host window jazzed up, but ultimately, I want to have the host spotlighted in a way that pulls from a zoom call on a separate display, so that I can override zoom’s output to deliver a custom show. Thanks again!

      @@kjdroz That guest will have to be behind green screen to pull this off.

    • @kjdroz
      @kjdroz 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ScottFichter Interesting. What I'm playing around with is using masks to grab pinned guests. Gallery view is rough, but I think that pins can create a static source to build masks to isolate participants, so that I can create a special window for the host window and spotlight that output. It's kind of cool to do things like use the gallery view in the background, although I can't figure out how to open multiple settings at once.
      It would be extra cool if I could crop and scroll the gallery window so that it doesn't show the toolbar and application header and just drift all participants across the background with some filters to make the gallery more subtle.

    Great video I was wondering is it possible to do the same with a video clip instead of a png

      Of course but if you want to mask out elements it'll have to be isolated with color or have it's own alpha channel itself.

    Great stuff man. Simple but pretty much everything anyone needs without all the Fusion madness. You could actually do heaps just in the inspector. I learnt heaps of neat tricks. Thanks for pulling it all together.

      Snappy, yes, this one really took some heavy duty research. I need to make more of these. I have a few subjects that are absolute HUGE topics but the research required is massive and I've been pushing those off.

Keep making content, brother, 'cause this channel gonna blow up. You got one more new sub and like here...off to watch and like some more!!!
