I love my original 2020 Himiway Cruiser! I am tempted to upgrade to the Zebra in the future. The reason I purchased the Cruiser was because of the weight limit. Now the Zebra has a higher limit but without fenders and rack. I did change the handlebars and stem for a more upright stance, on my cruiser. I am a disabled veteran and have a spinal cord injury that prevents me from walking without help, but when on the bike it is all good! I am approaching 78 years old and Himiway is my exercise every day! I think the upgraded motor would be great to have as well. I have upgraded to hydraulic brakes and it stops fast!

I think they may be sending one soon.. fingers crossed. Yeah, I've been told that before haha. I try and top on the bikes for the range test, all depends on where I'm at, most trails have a 20 mph speed limit which stops me from doing so and I hate riding on the road
The irony of the Himiway Zebra being the slowest in the class. I particularly do not like that they’ve made the bike much heavier. What gives? I could maybe understand staying the same weight, but they haven’t added anything that would raise the weight by a ludicrous 10lbs. Dude, that takes away from the improvements in motor, speed, and even better range we should be getting from the better battery. Also the motor should be 1000watts nominal minimal really, but the ridiculous “750” technical Law ruins things for not necessarily speed which it does, but even more importantly torque. If we had access to 1,500watts nominal and of course maxing at way higher we’d all be much safer.

Hello because of a good Himiway bike After 3 weeks and about 15 km it is defective (no more pedal assist) After I tried the support they wanted a video from me with the description of the problem, what I had done. The driving assistance via hand throttle worked perfectly, what I showed in the video. And what email came back from China ??? a video how I can speed up the hand throttle illegally, with the statement that they helped me with it ????????? I think the Himiway Service in China can't even watch video properly. I've only had the bike 3 weeks and already have a neck on Himiway. I hope for you that you never have to use the service, because the support in Germany gives the problem also only to China, because nothing else comes from there either.
Have fun with your Himiway and hopefully never a warranty case. Hallo
Can you have a passenger 160 pounds the driver is also 160 pounds ??? You should definitely talk about heavy weight on this bike if they are rated 400 pounds . Also how would this affect the range and if the power of the motor will last ?????
Excellent review! The weight of this bike is a concern if I ever needed to pedal the bike without assistance and just moving it around in my garage. Do they make a lighter bike? Where do you rank this bike among others? Have you reviewed the Utopia bike if so I like to see it and here your thoughts and comparisons. Beautiful scenery where did you ride? Thanks
Thanks! It's a big and beefy bike for sure, not a pain to move around to be honest but lifting in a truck or on a rack.. yes. Take the battery out when you do, you'll thank me:) This is easy one of the best bikes for the price and they've got good customer service which is always nice. Review was filmed in St. George, UT
Great review 🚲👌 26 miles with only a thousand feet of ascent at your weight seems like false advertising from Himiway to me! I know that battery tests are done with an 80 pound rider on the flat and with a tailwind but come on Himiway, 60 - 80 miles ... 🙄🤔👎🤷♂️ Cheers 👍
@@ElectricRevolution oh yes, there are lots of variables to that answer and manufacturers always exaggerated the numbers. Battery range is a big deal for me and I'm spending hours each week trawling TH-cam for someone specifically doing a range test, preferably in Eco mode. Time is running out, I want one asap ! Thanks again 🚲🙂👍
What killed me on the event and adventure is the left side thumb throttle and the 48 volt 15 amp hour battery is too small the hemiway has a right hand twist throttle and a 48 volt 20 hour battery I think I would take the hemi way
Thanks! That's a tough call, both are well made and perform about the same. If you want to compare, the two stats wise, my website may help electricrevolutionreviews.com/
I have three Himiway bikes. One with 500 miles on it. It has been broken for seven months due crank bearings. No help from hemenway after countless E mails and videos. One bike has 38 miles. The hall crank sensor wire got broken on a ride. This is not a warranty due to the fact that I broke it. It has been the same thing no customer service. Now they say the can't get the part due to back orders. How can they have bikes coming in to sell when they say no parts available. Aren't bikes made with parts. Three bike for sale.
@ThunderChicken No I didn't. However, I have found a bike shop that actually carries Himiway. I thought about having them order a Zebra since it has hydraulic brakes, integrated battery, 60 miles range and the wiring in now routed inside the frame. Also $100 off right now. They are advertising it as an upgraded cruiser. Haven't pulled the trigger yet but having a dealership that can honor the 2 year warranty really helps. They are really pushing the Aventon though, only 2 Himiway in stock but a lot of Aventon.
@@bearbull88 yea I’m doing the same. I found a dealer as well and I’m going through them. Although, they only have a step through and I’m not into the white. But I think I’m just going to vinyl wrap it.
Don’t like the way the frame appears to be designed to house a mid drive but is blanked off in favour of a cheaper hub motor..Bafang G510 with belt drive would’ve been far more desirable for me personally but I do understand that hub motors do have some benefits
@@ElectricRevolution - aye, I did when I first saw it..thought it might be some kind of new, fully enclosed super shock resistant motor..then I spotted the hub motor. Being honest, I’m kind of going off the mid-drives due to them having more moving parts, being higher maintenance & the fact that I’d be up the creek if the chain/belt snapped..which I’m told happens frequently..hub motor might be the way ahead for me, as I’d still have pedals & a chain, if the motor packed in..what do you reckon dude ?
@@woodstockxx It's tough, both types have their advantages, that being said, I'd still go mid drive. If you're tackling some gnarly terrain, I save up and buy a nicer one where you won't have to worry about breaking down. All depends on what you plan to do with it.
@@ElectricRevolution - only plan I have is to get up the bloody hills around my house, to escape this s#it hole that I’m living in..silly me, moved into the bottom of a valley, not realising that my specialised enduro would become redundant, due to me being too old & fat to ride it out of here..lol. I really wanted to fit a mid-drive on it but the frame style is absolutely shocking & doesn’t permit..motor would hang too low & there’s not enough space to fit the battery & controller in the triangle, as the rear shock is in there..AAAARRRGH !! .. considered a rear hub motor but would still have battery/controller issues, although I am an engineer & could maybe knock up an enclosure & custom made LiPo pack..be a bit of a ballache though & im not sure I’m willing to drill the frame to route the wiring internally..looked at Haibikes but the price has rocketed here in the U.K..can buy a Sondors Metacycle that looks awesome & does 80mph/0-60 in 6 seconds for less..so that’s what I did..but that ain’t got peddles & if anything, it will only serve to make me fatter 🤦♂️😂😂

Great review , as always . This new price , makes me very happy that I bought my " Cruiser " last year from them when I did . I don't get the , putting the battery under the frame ? Just seems like a way to beg for it to fall out if not latched good , or dropping it while installing . I " guess " they didn't it for apperance , so from the top , the frame looks better . Be safe out there ... Gubs
Though I totally understand what you are saying there are lots of bikes on the market that mount the battery is the same spot. The Aventon Level has be around for 3 years and there hasn’t been any issues of the battery falling out due to the position.
@@hadleybennett6875 OK , but , other than for appearance for the frame of the bike . It makes no sense otherwise . I will say this . I am glad my "Himiway Crusier " is not like that . ... Gubs
Thanks man and yeah, I think they're playing around with different designs and to be honest, I have dropped the battery a couple of times, not with this bike but others that have the same design but I'm ok with it cause I love the look
I think another reason for a bottom mount vs top mount is battery size. It'd be very hard to get a 20Ah battery to fit as a top mount on the step over. Much more feasible on the step through model but why make 2 batteries when you can make 1 if it works.
Well I was disappointed in my zebra, with throttle only 24 mph .In my opinion hemingway is going backwards while there competition is going forward. I would not recommend there zebra. My old hemingway is much better. THANKS

@@foungyang5316 yes I have been debating between these 2 also. I don't know if in the real world the larger battery in the zebra since it's heavier is gonna make that much difference. I like both bikes.
What is the measurement from center of seat to the handle bar. I like the upgraded motor and the stronger frame compared to the aventon aventure. shorter arms so its a concern.
Yeah looks like they are doing similar to how car manufacturers do to keep the cost down by leveraging the same base chassis for different models. All of Himiway's new line up look to be using the same frame.
What do they mean by higher quality aluminum??? All aluminum framed bicycles are made of T 6061 There is nothing special about 6061. You are parroting marketing nonsense.
From my experience I found this bike as a big disappointment and wouldn't recommend it to other potential customers. Firstly this company has problems with shipping(parts that I ordered together with a new bike, Himiway managed send to me only 23 days after receiving my payment. Secondly the manual book arrived in the German language. After only like 120 km riding, the kickstand got broken and did not fold out (I used it around 10-15 times) Then the maximum distance that I managed to get on the fully charge battery was 65 km!!!! (With only my weight on it(less than 80 kg), mostly on fully flat roads, with tire pressure 30 PSI and temperature outside 12-15°). The support team would do their best to find any excuse but not the solution, some of the replies from them after sending them messages I received only on the fourth day and only after reminding them about it. On top of that, the bike I bought and received from them was made two years ago. On my question to the support team why the bike already is two years old I still haven't received an answer.

what I showed in the video.
And what email came back from China ??? a video how I can speed up the hand throttle illegally,
with the statement that they helped me with it ?????????
I think the Himiway Service in China can't even watch video properly.
I've only had the bike 3 weeks and already have a neck on Himiway.
I hope for you that you never have to use the service, because the support in Germany gives the problem
also only to China, because nothing else comes from there either.
Have fun with your Himiway
and hopefully never a warranty case.
George, UT
@@ElectricRevolution Thanks!
Great review 🚲👌
26 miles with only a thousand feet of ascent at your weight seems like false advertising from Himiway to me!
I know that battery tests are done with an 80 pound rider on the flat and with a tailwind but come on Himiway, 60 - 80 miles ... 🙄🤔👎🤷♂️
Cheers 👍
Thanks for watching and range is always tricky to measure, so many things affect it
@@ElectricRevolution oh yes, there are lots of variables to that answer and manufacturers always exaggerated the numbers.
Battery range is a big deal for me and I'm spending hours each week trawling TH-cam for someone specifically doing a range test, preferably in Eco mode.
Time is running out, I want one asap !
Thanks again 🚲🙂👍
Thank you for this review! Very thorough! I am trying to decide between this bike and the Aventon Adventure. Any recommendations?
What killed me on the event and adventure is the left side thumb throttle and the 48 volt 15 amp hour battery is too small the hemiway has a right hand twist throttle and a 48 volt 20 hour battery I think I would take the hemi way
Thanks! That's a tough call, both are well made and perform about the same. If you want to compare, the two stats wise, my website may help electricrevolutionreviews.com/
Which bike is better the Himiway Zebra or the Bee Cool pathfinder??
Pathfinder performed better in my tests so that would be my pick
THANK YOU!!!!!
Just order mine oh my
I have three Himiway bikes.
Wow.. I was about to order one until I read this
@@bearbull88 did you order one?
The distance between the seat and handlebars issue you mention gives me pause to consider this (I'm 5'7"). Thanks for this very informative review.
It's a reach, the seat does move forward but only around an inch or two if that helps
🔥
Don’t like the way the frame appears to be designed to house a mid drive but is blanked off in favour of a cheaper hub motor..Bafang G510 with belt drive would’ve been far more desirable for me personally but I do understand that hub motors do have some benefits
I agree, I thought it was mid drive when I first opened it.
What is your favorite sub $2000 bike?
There's a bunch, not sure what my favorite it and all depends on what you're looking for. Here's my website that will help ya narrow it down electricrevolutionreviews.com/index.php/reviews/bikes
Can the Zebra be unlocked for a higher top speed?
Not that I saw, I had it set to the highest speed in the settings
Nice review! Quick question: Does this bike have walk mode?
Yes
Yea,it's called off
Helpful review. Code only says $50 off, not $150?
Thanks and they changed it to $50 off now, sorry :)
THANKS
when you do your range test do you use the same route for each bike that you test?
No, my life would be too boring that way :). That's why I give a brief description on the route and also mention the elevation
any chance you’ll get to review the Himiway Cobra?
They said they were gonna send soon
What does it weigh with the battery out of it or how much does the battery weigh?
Battery weighs around 8 lbs, forget off the top of my head how much bike weighs, it's around 75 lbs, I mention the weight in the review
Why does it only ship to Utah?
I see what you mean, I'll get that fixed asap!
It is fixed. Thank you for bringing that to our attention.
I just ordered one of these bikes for the amazing range and the fact that its rated to haul a heavy rider like myself. How much range would you lose hauling 350lbs?
Right on! Honestly, I have no idea. I'm 185 lbs so that may give you some sort of idea of what you can expect
I weigh 852 lbs I’m hoping the stronger motor will have me racing along at a good pace down a nice long hill
Hello guys, can someone please explain me how tall do you need to be to ride this thing (my son wants one but I don’t know if he’s tall enough).
Rider size is around 5'5 to 6'5
Would you recomend this or the Aventure?
That's a tough one, honestly it's 6's. I also did a review on the Aventure, th-cam.com/video/zcPY7TD1MlU/w-d-xo.html
Himiway Cruiser or The Zebra?
Both really good bikes, but I like the Zebra more, especially the look. If you wanna compare the stats, check out my website electricrevolutionreviews.com/
@@ElectricRevolution serious question. Which is more comfortable, the zebra or cruiser? I am highly considering, but just not sure which to get. I’ve tried the cruiser and the comfort is amazing. I was hoping the zebra would be as comfortable if not more comfortable.
Not sure but here's the link over to himiway where you can find it pevdistribution.com/brands/himiway/24-himiway-zebra
Beneficial thank you
Should I buy the Zebra or the Big Dog?
Never tested the Big Dog so can't say but I hear good things, all depends on what you can afford. More money, lighter frame and better parts

Please check the BBB sight before you buy a Himiway.
Why?
You need more videos.
I'm trying :)
So what was the range you got
It's in the review :) just over 26 miles
Why does it cost 2400 dollars now
Everythings goin up :(. Still beats gas prices lol
Dude just said the second fastest in it's price range and the slowest in its class lol. I'm confused
...strange....looks like it was built to accommodate a Mid-drive motor ??
That's what I thought, instead it's where the house the controller
Yeah looks like they are doing similar to how car manufacturers do to keep the cost down by leveraging the same base chassis for different models. All of Himiway's new line up look to be using the same frame.
What do they mean by higher quality aluminum???
All aluminum framed bicycles are made of T 6061
There is nothing special about 6061.
You are parroting marketing nonsense.
I'm no aluminum expert but looks like they didn't something different with a higher weight capacity
