They say an athletes job is not to be a role model, but if any kid was to use an athlete as a role model, Kevin is a bloody great one to pick. Another outstanding podcast mate
Dom. Thank you for this wonderful interview. Aside from the rugby there are plenty of lessons we can take from it and how Kevin has lived his life. I have just recently found your pod casts. Has the Cully one been done yet?
@@domharveynz Thanks Dom. Im a bit of a rugby fanatic. I had dreams of being an AB as a kid (as we all do) but gave up rugby in my last year at high school after 2 concussions and a badly broken nose in 12 months. On advise from our GP I did but was a bit p'd off. I enjoy the sensible relaxed interviews. Very refreshing.
When I started at Aorere College, Kevin was in his final year. Although he was head boy at the time, he was clearly the golden boy and had this kind caring aura about him that automatically drew you to him. I never got to know him or Luke but became friends with Francis who was also kind like Kevin. His cousins were also very friendly nice people. Just a really good family.
Aorere College's finest and favourite son. Every student looked up to him as a role model and he has gone on to enjoy the career that we all expected. Hearing legends like Richie McCaw and Dan Carter speak so highly of Kevin fills us with pride. Welldone Kevin!
Kev, talking about your mum, and you did it all with a smile, heart breaking dude. Man, our leaders have a lot to answer for re: covid. There are too many stories about kids not being able to see their parents off. It's disgusting, I almost lost my mum during covid and wasn't allowed to fly home to give her a hug. I'll never forget or forgive what they did.

Great comment. Yeah even with the incredible rugby career removed, he is just a cool human ❤

Larry, thanks so much for the comment. I’m so pleased you discovered the podcast and gave it a go. The Cully episode went up in September I think 😊
