I played a goblin back in the 90’s and it was a hoot! Last night I played my second goblin ever and it was the most fun I’ve had in a long time of gaming.
I have started a Goblin Arachnomancer that worships Lloth. The DM has started us at lvl 5 in 5E and I have built him as basically a Conjurer. He has been a blast to play. I am playing with the idea of leveling up as a Cleric of Lloth as well. Have good one!
Just wanted to say this turned out great! I found a recent post of yours on Reddit about your amazing Kenku! Now going through all your videos and subscribed! Can't say enough, but thank you for uploading your amazing art as well as giving insight on world building/character development. Can't wait to see more of your work!!! Hope you have a blessed day!
Thanks! Im glad you enjoyed them and Im glad you found my work on reddit Im really enjoying the community there and i hope to keep bringing things of intrest to the table.
I always loved goblins, but I'm more of a bard player in traditional D&D so I was a bit dissapointed in the low charisma score, even if it made sense. Then I discovered the alchemist class. Yeah, sounds good and fun. And then I discovered the subclass winged marauder and OH BOI is it wonderful, I only played one session with my character so far but the gameplay is really refreshing, I'd recommend it 10/10 would nuke clueless monsters again
One of my favorite campaign starters for brand new players is to start the players already mid hunt on the edge of a goblin camp outside a cave, if they bother to ask I tell them they took a job to clear out goblins who have raiding nearby farmlands, I've yet to meet a player who doesn't attack the goblins, the reason I love it is inside the cave there's a barricaded door, when the door is forced open I describe the sounds of young children crying and screaming in terror, inside isn't treasure but the Goblin nursery with a few non warrior goblins usually 1D4 with improvised weapons who are clearly scared of the players but will do anything to protect the baby goblins, the Goblins were raiding the farmlands for supplies and though chaotic and destructive weren't murderous unless provoked but also weren't welcomed in the nearby town due to being seen as "evil" the only treasure besides the Goblin weapons are mundane items that you would find in any human home, the anger I've received when they don't find gold or magic items brings me joy...am I a bad DM
@@Rookzer0 I never made them murder the women and children, I did have one group get upset and they United the nearby goblin clans and led them to murder the starting town, it's was the shortest campaign I've ever run
This is my idea for a sketch: a really strong goliath rogue equipped with a double barrel backpack. He's tossing a goblin that looks like Styx from one of the barrels who's also a rogue who flies towards an opponent with both blades drawn. In the other barrel is a female gnome wizard shooting a fire bolt at the target from the goliath's back. This idea comes from a strategy the three of us had where we did this (I was playing the goblin assassin).
That's a pretty good team dynamic. how did you deal with being a rogue that attacks from the front? did you get the surprise attack from jumping out of the barrel?
@@Rookzer0 I pretty much joined a game not knowing the team composition on roll 20 and found two player characters ready to kill each other. My character ended up befriending both of them for different reasons. How I ended up in the barrel was an idea I had come up with since I couldn't be seen in town without being treated with hostility. The other rogue being a strength-based goliath proposed throwing me as a projectile in battle which I was all for. Since we both were good at stealth and since the goliath has this neat little perk called powerful build he could easily transport the gnome and I. It's a weird dynamic as my character is friends with both PC's partially out of necessity because as a goblin I would get killed and my character realizes that. At the same time my teammates see my character as necessary because otherwise they would kill each other (mainly because the gnome is always playing tricks on the goliath such as hitting him with a fire bolt, making his food taste bad with prestidigitation, making his ale taste like lemonade, making him stink, etc). I honestly am having a blast in the campaign so far. :-P And ya, since my character specializes in surprise attacks and has fury of the small he can deal massive damage when needed when being thrown.
Great video! My old roommate is also an illustrator, and has done some of these time-lapse videos as well. I love watching the process! On that note, I had a character once that was a homebrewed race called Mariti. They're a bearfolk race, and this one was a polar bear. He was a slayer/bloodrager with the undead bloodline. I always imagined him having an undead appearance when entering his bloodrage. He wielded an icy greatsword, and wore a mithril breastplate. If this sound like something you'd like to sketch, I'd like to see him visualized.
On of my favoirte characters that I've ever played was a Polar bear Monk. I had a very patient DM and we did a lot of shenanigans to make it work but if you can make a bear character work I will all ways be down to see it. I might have to take you up on your Mariti today that sounds awesome.
Nice! I wrote down the quick discription in my notes I might have to get back to it a bit later this week. I want to do some stuff with Rat folk and Kolbolds first.

I love the various Goblin races, but one my character ideas I have been is a battle hardened a Tiefling barbarian or fighter. I have never played a martial class. So, I haven't decided on barbarian or fighter. Any recommendations for class and RP hooks?
Well Goblin Barbarians can be really fun. doing a grappler or brawler build. If you really want to have a good time as a Teiefling fighter, you could always build them out as a Slaved/gladiator fighting in the pits for survival and eventually winning their freedom. Or escaping, with their former master hunting them down.
@@Rookzer0 My working concept is a Tiefling was taken from his mountain village when was young by slavers and was sold to a a wealthy noble who threw him in fighting pits. He spends the next 7 years in the pit until a mysterious massive fire near the fighting pits and in the confusion he manged to escape the city. From there he is trying to find out what happen to his family and village.
