I use windex to lube the gasket. It helps the glass slide smoothly into the gasket channel. Also I enjoy your partners commentary. I also have a 58 Dodge Custom 2drht with a 361 four barrel.

Well Done! That gasket looked to be subtle and in great shape considering it's 65 years old.

Can't believe such an old gasket was reusable. Nice save!

This is great! You've made another big step forward. I'm really happy for you and the car. I can't wait to see it at least in primer. This car has such good lines that one solid color of any kind will really make it pop. With those black steel rims and white letter tires, a coat of grey primer would give it a cool early NASCAR/moonshiner vibe, (Junior Johnson, Fireball Roberts era) which would be at least a cool temporary look until you could do the final color. Once you see it, it's probably gonna light a fire under you to go on ahead and do the interior. You'd have a sort of hillbilly hot rod, and that wouldn't be a bad thing.
Have you ever considered finding somebody you trust, who does upholstery, and try to work out some kind of labor for labor barter deal?
I know that the bills are merciless, and you're probably lucky to even have the car in the first place, but I have saved thousands of dollars over the years by bartering my labor with trustworthy individuals who will hold up their end of the bargain. You can't do something like that with just anybody, though. A scoundrel can do a savage burn on you. I learned that the hard way. Buy it's something to consider as a possibility.

Couldn't agree with you more on the solid color, it is in dire need of that. As far as upholstery, I found a local retired auto upholstery guy a few years back, he did the red interior upholstery in our 1962 Dart, unfortunately I heard he is retired from being retired now. True craftsman are difficult to find.

@@cudafry1967 The cool factor on that car is completely off the chart! It pegs the cool meter all the way "into the red"
I don't know if you're a Stevie Ray Vaughan fan, but if you look up the video for "Superstition" you'll see an awesome 59 Coronet parked in front of the theater at the beginning of the video. Your car is as cool as that one. If you see it, you'll like it.

Good job all round guys. Nice to see you have another pair of hands ✋ to help you out. Team work saw you through. They say " there's nothing like being preparing"....and that was nothing like being prepared. Do you still have a fence that is exhausting. It must have been one hell of a sofa that those cushions came off. Like the T-shirt. 4 lads from my home city. How much are you paying the grease monkey for all the help she gave you.

Agreed, we see so many asking how but no one ever follows up with how the install went. Hope this helps people.

Thank you. And this is editing from hours, I had to go back and watch it to remind myself what it took to complete.

A factory service manual should show how to remove and install a windshield. Its worth the cost to have one on one of these older cars.

I don't have one for this, but from what I am told installation is the same as my '62, from the top, but it has been extremely easy on both cars from the bottom.
