As I watch & listen to this video I’m reminded of just how much fun & simpler life was in the times of my youth . Growing up ( Well, getting older anyways 😏) and having cassette tapes to drive to this music always put smiles on our faces . Only Artimus is Still alive and kicking now out of these photos of Skynyrd members . Rest In Peace guys .

Original drummer Bob Burns died but his replacement Artimus Pyle, as featured in the majority of the LS shots here, is very much alive and STILL playing with his Artimus Pyle Band. And quite well. Having seen the APB 4x over the past 5 years, they do as much justice to the memories and sounds of the original as the "tribute" bunch still out there. My opinion. The two guitarists in APB are simply phenomenal. Artimus still has chops. He lives in western NC.

This is simply without a doubt the best southern rock band ever Hell the best rock band period You can make a list of songs from this band and close your eyes and put your finger on one and I bet that you will like it or at least relate to it in some way or form What is so incredible about this band is They started performing in 1972 or 73 and Ronnie was killed in 1977 and in this short amount of time They had so many good songs it’s almost unbelievable I mean how many bands do you know that literally every song they had was a good song and after the plane crash there was two bands spawned from this band There was Black Foot,The Rossington Collins band and Even when they got back together as Lynyrd Skynyrd Ronnie younger brother Jonnie took over the lead vocals And Donnie Van Zant formed 38 Special Another great southern rock band But Ronnie wrote most of the songs for this band If you like southern rock There 38 special,Atlanta Rhythm Section, Marshall Tucker and the Allman Brothers,Molly Hatchet just to name a few All of theses bands had some great music

My favorite Lynyrd Skynyrd song. Ronnie really put his heart and soul into it. The way he goes it alone on the first chorus with no backup vocals, just does something to me. You can just hear the heartache and feelings in his voice. "Girl you got me hungry, losin' my mind, I know I"m playin' with fire, get burned every time. Yes, I'm a fool for you babe, I can't deny, I've got to have your sweet love, One More Time".

They used to come to Atlanta every year at the Lakewood amphitheater
It’s was called the Georgia Jam and my brother and a few more good friends attended this concert Probably for ten years But we went to 8 of these concerts every year I never got to see the original band in concert I was only 7 years old in 1977 and didn’t start going to concerts until 1986 But I think that I grew up with the best bands that has ever been This is when real music was played by real musicians Southern Rock and The blues What a great time to be a teenager If I could go back I might change a few things but music wouldn’t be one of them I seen SRV in Daytona Beach in 1987 and got turned on to the blues He is another musician that was so good it’s crazy and Lynyrd Skynyrd NO DOUGHT THE BEST ROCK BAND EVER TO ME

I cut my teeth listening to these boys and I've saw them twice but that was after the plane crash. I was lucky enough to see Billy Powell and Leon Wilkison in River Bend Cincinnati back in 96 and I saw them in 2012 in Eastern Kentucky Expo center .

    The lineup was--
    Ronnie Van Zant: vocals
    Gary Rossington: guitar
    Allen Collins: guitar
    Ed King: guitar
    Billy Powell: keyboards
    Greg T. Walker: bass
    Rickey Medlocke: drums, percussion
Recorded in 1971 at Muscle Shoals Studio in Sheffield, Alabama and produced by Jimmy Johnson.
This was included in the album “Street Survivors”.
Great song by a band that was starting out back then.
    Worth multiple listens.
