Thanks for stopping by, If you have time you can check out my range of Dragon Eggs here www.etsy.com/shop/bensworx
I'm so happy you did this video! At least now I know that all the shavings don't need to be thrown in the trash! I was surprised the shavings kept their colors since they are plastic! I would have thought to add color it would need to be added when the plastic was still in liquid form. Fantastic!
Yep it looks like a Tesseract
Thanks Kaycy
you should of put the clear one under the black light
Ben's Worx never got notifications for this one
I use the shavings as packing for shipping finished products.
wise idea 👍👍
Big brain, u deserved the 100 likes
Solid idea
yeah, let others get rid of the trash. thats always a good idea
@@christopherchrisis5002 Well, it actually IS a good idea, come to think about it. Otherwise he'd have to still use something, maybe buy those foam beans, and the receiving person would still have to deal with disposing of them as trash. So why not reuse these shavings if they're at hand?
That's a cool looking bottle opener.
It would have been good to see the clear shavings cube with the black light to see if it glows.
I agree! I was disappointed the video ended where it did. If the bottle under black light showed the clear shavings, there is big potential for the clear cube! If nothing else, a clear cube with a surprise.
I recognize this video was over a year ago. I’ve been down a rabbit-hole on these videos today.
An interesting effect
Thanks Mate
I think you two do a great job at this I love it I cant wait to see more from both of you two guy. ^^
@@WolfDragon1996 Thanks
We click the thumbs up button on your comment.
That whispy effect under the blacklight looks amazing! Imagine that with glow in the dark instead. The more visible shavings in the bottle look like the 90s fabric pattern you'd see on bus seats, lol
Saw the orange shavings... Now im standing in front of the fridge at 2am eating shredded cheese while i watch the rest of the video
You didn't show the cube with the blacklight though?! I kinda wanted to know what it would have looked like......
I'll check it and post a photo on my instagram
I thought it looked like half melted snow, I thought he could make a snow ball maybe, really can't tell what it looks like till finished.
@@BensWorx Sweet
@@lorrieruff4402 I know you meant decorative but I just imagined rounding that out and throwing that at someone. Would probably hit like a rock, but it made me snicker.
@@SheepUndefined HAHA
The clear shavings looked like ice! That is a cool effect that can be used intentionally, maybe even make the surface warped in some spots to look slightly melted
This was my main question since I started watching resin turning videos haha
I've worked with something similar before. If you compress the shavings down and compact them more tightly before you infuse the resin, you get lots more opaque blanks to work with. Shavings can be continually recycled.
Have you every tried dissolving the shavings with solvent?
@@2degucitas, no. It can't be done. Once the resin cures it becomes a new material. To dissolve them requires a process of being able to seperate the two resin chemicals again. It can't be done.
The best way to reuse the waste is to make a new batch of resin and mix this stuff into it. Then remove the airbubbles in a vacuum chamber.
And if all else fails, you can always use the shavings as packing material 🙂
:)
Toilet paper
Someone already said that how dare you copy them
finallys someone does this.... ive been wondering what would happen
That's awesome ben. thanks for taking my question and making it a video. was really great how the bottle turned out.
Thanks Mate
That finished product with the black light on it is just amazing!
I think the first/colored blank would have looked great as a candle holder! But so very nice too
Thanks Mate
Brilliant as always Ben. The square blank actual looks like quartz!! That is so cool my resin crystals are going to look so realistic Thanks buddy!!!!!!!
Thanks Sas
I have to say since I've discovered your Channel watching your videos is so hypnotizing drawing me in not being able to look away. You do such amazing work a good friend of mine plays around with resin and does many different projects and I have her watching your channel now. Keep up the good work absolutely love it
Thanks Mate, I appreciate your support 👍
I love the bottle opener. What a cool way to reuse and keep waste down.
They turned out amazing under a blacklight extremely cool
Thanks Mate
Turned out... geddit? TURNED :D
You artfully created something out of the trash of other creations!
Great way to answer the questions we all have had
Thanks Angela
Thanks Ben, for doing what a lot of us were wondering.
No worries mate
The bottle opener is lovely. And I really liked the blank. I think it was simple and stylish in it's own way. You do good work mate.
Thanks Olivia
Good way to have a use for something that used to be so messy, resin turned projects are in my opinion the most messiest job ever, and never knew resin shavings could be used for, will do something like this later
Thanks Jake
I like your answer of “Well, yes... and no.” My follow up question, especially with the clear cube, can you remelt the shavings/turn them into a liquid form, and use them in a project that would be completely clear, as if you poured the material straight from the bottles? If you could, I would hazard a guess that the colored shavings would work as if your poured the dye(s) into the liquid. What do you think?
It’s worth a try
Roger Rarebit thanks for clarifying that point, I wasn’t sure about the chemical makeup/hardening aspect(s) of the material.
i'd say yes and yes if the resin product was planned to be painted
@Roger Rarebit still...as a filler...not considering appearance...it can be used and would save money
@Roger Rarebit Thank you, THAT was the answer I was looking for.
Your video was amazing . Sure, like the pictures effects. Love the tiny bottle
Great video Ben, it's a fantastic way to get more out of the resin and also adds a nice effect.
Keep up the videos, love your work.
Thanks Dennis
I love these experimental projects!
excellent video Ben! Great way to show everyone new ways to work with resin!
Thanks Ryan :)
now imagine how cool that would look to re-use large ribbon sized shavings. the kind you get when drilling a large hole into a hunk of resin.
Cool affect. Can’t wait to see you use it in a dragon egg
Thanks Colin
*effect (affect is a verb)
Michael_M , yeah, but ‘effect’ may also be used as a verb.
Looks like some deep sea jellyfish when you shine black light on the bottle!
That answered one of my curiosity questions. I love the bottle bottle opener. Maybe you should start adding bottle openers to you etsy page. Awsome job it looks amazing under the black light. I hope you and the family are staying healthy and keeping busy. Take care Ben 👍
Oh hey did the cube look any different under the black light?
Thanks Mark, We are all safe and well Thankyou! I never checked the clear cube with the black light, I'll check it out and post a photo on my instagram page :)
Excellent video Ben! Great way to show everyone how to use the material efficiently! Keep on shaving! Best regards, BASF ;)
YAY! I have been waiting for this video for ever!!! Thank you! Gonna go watch now!!
👍
THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I HAVE ALWAYS WANTED TO SEE SHAVINGS IN RESIN!!!!!!!!
I cant tell if the bottle is tiny or your hands are massive lol
Thanks Mate, lol
I was hoping to see the clear blank with the black light at the end. :D Cool! Glad you're keeping busy during the pandemic.
I have a photo on my Instagram 👍
That is awesome that little bottle opener you made is really nice that is really neat...stay safe buddie 😉😎😁👍
Thanks Mate
That came out so cool!!! Thank you for posting.
Thanks Mate
Amazing! Well done😃
Thanks for listening. I pop the question yesterday. And some people say you can use the shavings for packing. And you can also use the shavings as well for creating as well. The bottle like amazing well done. Sometimes you can match the color shavings with the color dye and get like an icy effect, just like you did with the white block. Much Love ❤
Use it to fill easter baskets this year lol
That is one of the coolest bottle openers I’ve seen and I really like the effect of the dyed shavings.
Awesome as always, I hope you guys are safe and sound down there 🙏
Thanks Mate, You too
@@BensWorx 😊😊😊👍
Thank you so much for doing this video! I was going to try this myself with my shavings to see if they could be used but now I can just see what happens with yours!😊❤
:)
Thanks Ben, for giving me some joy. I'm fighting the fight of my life right now and loved your clip. Thanks again.sincerely Marlene.
Loved it
Would have loved to see the clear resin shaving block under black light...
Could make some neat scifi/fantasy things with the clear shaving and a black light
Thanks Mate, I have a photo on my Instagram
it's amazing dude!! extremely cool decoration
Thanks Mate
Bloody beautiful work Ben. Didn't expect the bottle to turn out as good as it did, bonza job cobba.
Thanks Mate
Love watching you work. Keep posting 👍🏼
Thanks Mate
YES for Haloween!!! Great Spider-nets! 😀😀😀
:)
I want to make something like this for my dad. He made me some bottle openers with bar blades and corks I gave him and with my passed grandpa's leather from the farm. ❤ I don't have the equipment you have but I'll make it happen I hope. Love your videos 😀
Thanks for that! I’ve been wanting to see that fir awhile now. I’m glad someone finally did it. It’s what I expected, kinda looks like marbles with the dyed resin. It looks cool.
Thanks Mate
I have taken shavings and added glow-in-the-dark powder to them and CA glued them on tubes for pen blanks. Densely compacted gives a nice textured look
Absolutely love this video. Love how everything turned out. And cool color combinations.😎👍🏻
Thanks Jordan 😊👍
@@BensWorx you're welcome

Loved this! Would love to see more resin shaving art pieces!! I really loved the bottle opener!!!
thanks Theresa
Really liked the bottle!!!
This was relaxing to watch. 😊
:)
Absolutely loved this one.
Beautiful!!
That would make for a great snow effect on the clear ones honestly. I could see a few uses for that idea.
Another great project 👍👍
Thanks Mate
Just wanted to say hello and that my daughter and I love your videos. We love seeing you turn chunks of wood and resin into beautiful and unique pieces of art. Very satisfying to watch. Cheers!
Thanks Guys
Look really cool with the black light on them
Great experiment, Ben. That bottle opener is great.
Thanks Mate
Great video! Not sure how I just stumbled across it now, but I'm glad I did. Very cool experiment. :)
The bottle looks awesome in the blacklight
Just what I wanted to know thank you 😊
Amazing 👏
A true message in a bottle !! 👣
Love the effect on the mini bottle. Nice one mate.
Thanks Mate
The clear one would make a great snowball for a Christmas tree.
I like the effect of the dyed shavings in clear resin. You should play around with that some more.
This definitely deserves some more looking into!
for sure
Another top video from a top bloke. Keep them coming mate.
Thanks Mate
You could totally use the clear shaving one for little ice cubes for like a kids play set or someone that collects miniature things, those would look just like little ice cubes!!
I was curious about the resin shavings. That bottle looks pretty awesome!
Thanks Lynn
that's really cool👍👍
Excellent experiment!
Thanks Fred
Very nice great idea 👍
Thanks Mate
Wow...what an amazing idea. Good work buddy. I'll be here always 😉
Thanks Mate
Cool stuff! 👍🏼
Thanks Mate
I wonder if you could use the clear shavings as fill in something opaque. Maybe even blitz them in a blender or something to get them even finer.
It looks like confetti in a bottle.
Yeah it does :)
beautiful work 😎👍
That is so awesome I have always wanted to know if this would work.
Thanks Yvonne
Thanks Ben, interesting experiment. Take care and stay safe!
Thanks Mate, You too
I wanna see Ben's Worx create a door stopper out of resin
👍
Finally someone does this thank you
:)
Awesome results for the bottle one
Thanks Mate
Awesome video. Hope you and your family are safe and well.
Thankyou, We are all safe :)
Both look great. I'd use the clear cube as a winter / frosted effect piece x
Thanks Mate
These are great. I'd like to see you do more projects with these shaving methods
Thanks Layla
Thank you Ben!!

Way cool in the black light.
