No hate at all to the passion in the comments section, but I haven't seen a single person lay out the structure of this competition for you so you can watch the whole show. I very much want to relive that journey again through you, so let me break it down for you. There are 3 categories that people compete in: solo, tagteam/crew, and loopstation. Solo is self explanatory, and the category DLow won in 2019. Tagteam is a duet(Crew is 3-5) and loopstation is where it gets really crazy. They record and process their voice and sounds on a loopstation and basically make actual tracks live on stage. GBB starts with all the competitors submitting "Wildcard" videos, this is essentially their try-outs. The judges pick the top 16 or however many from these videos, and that's who comes to the big stage. This is true for all categories. The actual competition starts with each person/group's Elimination round. This is a non battle performance on stage where the judges narrow it down even more by scoring each person/group individually and the lowest scores are out. After this, the remainders get put into a tournament style bracket where they battle it out to the top. I really suggest you watch at least some of the GBB21 stuff, it was a crazy year for beatbox.
