I discovered this song in the Big Hero 6 trailer when I was a kid and I was obsessed with it. Years later I went to a summer camp and met this friend who always wore headphones, one time I asked him what he was listening to and he showed me this song. Turns out the discovered it the same way and had the same type of ✨spiritual awakening✨ while listening to it. I was SO HAPPY to finally meet someone who loved the movie and this song as much as I did. :D
this song has literally been engraved in my head for at least 7 years, it keeps on popping up in my head every few months. i remember this being the song i chose to sing for my voice lesson teacher when i was like 10. you guys are incredible
Big Hero 6 and this song actually is what first inspired me to graduate high school at 15. I’m now 17 and a Sophomore in college. I listen to this song all the time while I study. It’s really done more for me than I can express. Music is the most powerful form of storytelling.
Lines and Circles thanks. I’m majoring in Theological and Biblical Studies and minoring in Global Studies and Apologetics. My goal is to be a missionary of some sort, but that’s a very broad field so I’m still exploring what I want to do specifically. Sometimes career and vocation are two different things so who knows where I could end up? Edit: if anyone cares I’m considering adding a double major in Criminal Justice.
I remember, once upon a time, hearing this song before it was even written. The music that goes along with the rhythm and the words sounds so familiar, and conveys a sense to me, of a wish for the times when life was simpler. I have spent months and years trying to find the song that might be so similar to me, but I know from the disappointment of wishing that I could have those times back so that my childhood songs would sound as they did then, that it just wouldn’t and couldn’t ever be the same. The song then was meaningless, this I know. Just a wordless tune I must have conjured in my head. But now, when I think back on it and long, it brings me back to when my brother and I, we got along just fine. All we were worried about was who got to be which character when we were playing LEGO Star Wars on the Wii. We never had a care in the world, and we didn’t plan or worry about tomorrow. Now, as people, we stress so much just over what clothes to wear after we get up in the morning, and it’s sometimes hard to think about anything but tomorrow. And I often have this feeling that maybe, just maybe, if I can identify the tune running through my head, I can escape from everything else, if only for a while. If I can bring back what now represents to me those days, I can bring the very days themselves back. And sometimes, after listening to such a similar song as this one to that one, I drive myself crazy when trying to make that connection. But, perhaps I never will. Perhaps my brain prefers to play tricks on me and put a song with such wise and powerful lyrics in my memories to imagine what it would be like if I had kept my childish personality. Perhaps when I hear this song, I think I hear that song, playing in my head. And perhaps it’s just an echo.
I get where you're coming from, and yet I haven't been to that side you've mentioned. For now though, I'm just trying to figure out if it was a guy singing it or whether it was a girl.. it might start to bother me, but finding out about the song is just one solution. Another solution is by choosing to live like the melody.
"TOP OF THE WORLD" lyrics On top of the world, on top of it all, trying to feel invincible Dying on top of the world I remember the nights Caught up in dreaming my ‘goodbyes’ Watching the door for anything more than an ordinary life I remember the days New beginnings on an open ‘page’ With something to prove and nothing to lose, not a soul to betray Here I am Living a dream that I can’t hold Here I am on my own On top of the world, on top of it all, trying to feel invincible I’m dying on top of the world I remember the lies Caught up in building ‘paradise’ The angels were slaves and demons behaved and Everything was alright Here I am Living a dream that I can’t hold Here I am on my own On top of the world, on top of it all, trying to feel invincible I’m dying on top of the world I hear the crowds beneath me I’m wishing they could reach me But I’m ‘on top of the world’ Up here I’m dying alone Inside the walls of gold, outside of happiness It’s all been a show, too late to confess No room for heart and soul, no room for innocence On top of the world, on top of it all, trying to feel invincible But I’m dying on top of the world -Greek Fire
I love how Disney is bringing more listeners to bands like this through some of the new movies they're making. They keep on making the voices be heard throughout the nations and its just so beautiful.
penek kocarb Like it or not, Big Hero 6 is going to give this song a TON of popularity that it rightly deserves... Telling people to 'Fuck off' is not exactly good repayment for that, is it?
I finally understood this music video after five years since Big Hero 6 came out. It is hinted that the father is so focused on work and growing up, he almost forgot about being a kid again. I can totally relate since I always had a child of a heart and that won’t change me. His son went out to save him meaning he wants to help him be a kid again so it’s okay to be a child even if you’re an adult. You are denying it but your heart said so otherwise. “I remember the nights, caught up in dreaming my goodbyes.” Really means that he’s so caught up of being a responsible grownup, he always been thinking about how to properly say goodbye to his childhood memories. I learned this throughout my life and I want to be slight responsible but most fun person I can be. The last thing I need is to be workaholic and neglecting my family and friends and that’s not what I want. If you’re feeling this, make sure to spend your life wisely and have an inner kid at your heart.
@@rise7056 What? Are we not allowed to remember those good times as a kid? I do that all the time even if I’m an adult. I guess people like you didn’t understand any of it or how adults go through with tough life that you needed something to remember you used to do. Isn’t that right?
I remember hearing this song the first time when Big Hero 6 trailer comes out. It instantly became something I'm attached to at that point in time. Can't believe it's been 6 years. Still an amazing song!

I always interpreted this song as being about a fall from grace (no pun intended). Words like "I remember the days... Not a soul to betray" "It's all been a show, too late to confess" "To room for heart and soul, no room for innocence" paint a picture, for me, of someone who has climbed and backstabbed their way to the top of the world, and has so many regrets. In the end, they're "dying on top of the world". For all those reasons, to me, this is the story of Luke.

I’ve listened to this song 9 years ago when I saw the Big Hero 6 trailer for the first time when I was 12 hears old. Today, 9 years later, I feel proud of myself for finding this masterpiece song that I’ve listened on few pieces inside of my head since that day :')
I seriously hope they play this at the end of the movie. This song would touch the audience's heart and make them have that feel walking out the theatre. :)
So happy a local band is getting so much exposure they deserve from the BH6 trailer! Proud Saint Louis musician, and a huge supporter of local music. Been listening for years, and finally you guys are getting some major advertisement! :)
I think that the main singer isn't supposed to be showing emotion because the video is trying to show that he just wants to be a kid again, so the point is for his life to seem boring and then you see his son? And he's trying to save his dad from growing up
i took it a slightly different path. I didn't see it as "his son saved the dad" , but I saw it more as a symbolic look into the past. because, well, the lyrics do say "I remember the nights" and then talking about dreams/wishes he had as a child (wanting to grow up). I think this song is simply the singer reminding himself of the good old days. Which is a pretty good message IMO. i also feel the adult world sucks more than I thought it would. As a kid I really wanted to grow up. but it sucks.
I'm going through a huge nostalgia trip listening to all my favorite songs from 6 years ago and wow... all these years later and this song still remains amazing
Emma Moran ya, I looked up Greek Fire to see what band Moon was in. I actually have heard this song quite a bit. Probably on the Point. I did stop watching the video, though, because I want to continue to like it:-)
Man, I used to not care about this kind of music until i listened to the Rizz show and grew to love each guy. Now, I'm all in on Greek Fire. Moon is a great dude and if you have access to spotify, find the Rizz show podcast where he tells his Garth Brooks story...fuckin waterworks.
It makes me so happy to see this song getting so many views. If you like it, check out their other stuff. I did and was not dissapointed. "Real Life" and "Break Me Down" are my personal favorites.
It's cool to see a rockband putting some effort into a music video, specially without having a big major label financing it.Nowadays, you get mostly lyric or performance videos, because they're really cheap to make, respect guys! ...oh and the song is not to shabby either. ;-)
This has gotta be one of my all time favourite songs, I don't listen to it often but when I do its incredible. Definitely gonna stick with me for another long while 👌
Yes of course we all know music videos don't use real explosives... The point that OP was making is that from a "plot" stand point, a kid shouldn't have explosives at all. idk if I even should call the story in music videos as "plot". A logical explanation is only that the kid's dad is in the military and either has passed away or is simply currently not around to keep his grenades in the top cabinet.
This song once again reminded me how Big Hero 6 was one heck of a movie.

"TOP OF THE WORLD" lyrics
On top of the world, on top of it all, trying to feel invincible
Dying on top of the world
I remember the nights
Caught up in dreaming my ‘goodbyes’
Watching the door for anything more than an ordinary life
I remember the days
New beginnings on an open ‘page’
With something to prove and nothing to lose, not a soul to betray
Here I am
Living a dream that I can’t hold
Here I am on my own
On top of the world, on top of it all, trying to feel invincible
I’m dying on top of the world
I remember the lies
Caught up in building ‘paradise’
The angels were slaves and demons behaved and
Everything was alright
Here I am
Living a dream that I can’t hold
Here I am on my own
On top of the world, on top of it all, trying to feel invincible
I’m dying on top of the world
I hear the crowds beneath me
I’m wishing they could reach me
But I’m ‘on top of the world’
Up here I’m dying alone
Inside the walls of gold, outside of happiness
It’s all been a show, too late to confess
No room for heart and soul, no room for innocence
On top of the world, on top of it all, trying to feel invincible
But I’m dying on top of the world

That actually made me cry because that was so beautiful for his son to give his dad a chance to relive his childhood.
@@booneroberts1160 UR IQ IS MINIMUM 150
i took it a slightly different path.
"Here I am on my own" ...I felt it 😪
This song will forever be one of the most criminally underrated pieces of music ever.
I got chills guys. Fantastic job!
Anyone else here from Big Hero 6? I am hella grateful to Disney for it 👏👌💕
Me

I'm going through a huge nostalgia trip listening to all my favorite songs from 6 years ago and wow... all these years later and this song still remains amazing
Lead singer "Moon" is on a morning show on st. Louis radio 105.7... pretty funny dude.
That's him?!
Emma Moran ya, I looked up Greek Fire to see what band Moon was in. I actually have heard this song quite a bit. Probably on the Point. I did stop watching the video, though, because I want to continue to like it:-)
I was hoping someone else in the comments knew about that!
This song is definitively underrated and one of the best songs ever
I agree 100%
I also came here from the Big Hero 6 trailer. Safe to say I am now a Greek Fire fan.
More people share this. Greek Fire really is a special band.
Hola Yo Soy mexicano y encontré esta cancion solo por grandes Héroes 6
Yo la considero una de las mejores canciones del mundo :D
Oh that High note at the end, Isss soooooo goooooodd
Can't believe this song and band aren't big... like this is masterpiece.
THIS SONG MAKES ME FEEL POWERFUL!!!!! OH YEAH!!!!
The amount of nostalgia this song holds should be studied.
Back here in 2021. This is still my favorite cover. (visual and audio)
i can't believe it...one of the best songs' band LITERALLY has "fire" in the name
That little kid is going to be a freaking legend one day
多分自分はこの人と同じことを体験していた.......love greek fire from japan!
#BigHero6 brought me here... And it's indeed such a great song that I have never stopped listening to, since then! 👍👏
3 years later and I am still listening with the same emotions XD
Man this video brings back memories. I had so much fun filming this! Thank you Greek Fire!
It makes me so happy to see this song getting so many views. If you like it, check out their other stuff. I did and was not dissapointed. "Real Life" and "Break Me Down" are my personal favorites.
It's cool to see a rockband putting some effort into a music video, specially without having a big major label financing it.Nowadays, you get mostly lyric or performance videos, because they're really cheap to make, respect guys! ...oh and the song is not to shabby either. ;-)
I can't believe this song is 4 years old...so do Big Hero 6😢😢
my god..... bring me back to the time when this songs come out
This has gotta be one of my all time favourite songs, I don't listen to it often but when I do its incredible. Definitely gonna stick with me for another long while 👌
i miss this song so much
this makes me emotional in a good way.
So far I have clicked 'read more' over 10 times and only found 1 person questioning why the kid has explosives in his backpack.
Live grenades were not used in the production of this video. They were toy grenades with a leaf blower making the explosion effects.
fastfingers10 I know... -_-
+RepsterMC Imagination, sir.
or just explosives period
Yes of course we all know music videos don't use real explosives... The point that OP was making is that from a "plot" stand point, a kid shouldn't have explosives at all.
idk if I even should call the story in music videos as "plot".
A logical explanation is only that the kid's dad is in the military and either has passed away or is simply currently not around to keep his grenades in the top cabinet.
Love this song! Great singer and puts a lot of effort in his song. THANKS BIG HERO 6
Moon out there killing it! First time watching the video, such quality!
Big Hero 6 brought me here!
Nice work guys!
