it had unexpectedly good war animation quality. u dont remember mom bc we didnt see her in casual clothes before. physical training is also important otherwise he cant stand at the war like his father did. this was a slow goodbye father episode but it was really important for ars's growth... lets see whats gonna happen next ep. he gonna tell to licia and others who close to him in my opinion but not now. licia's plot twist as u said and additiion she bullied that kid by saying you r a dumb fat shit and after that gave those cookies to bribe him, perfect plan exists.

This is Chapter 31 in the Manga. With only 12 episodes total and 5 left I struggle to see where they are going to wrap the season. Looking ahead maybe the marriage chapter. There will be plenty of loose threads at that point still though. If the goal is to get people to buy the novels/manga I guess that would work. Hopefully the anime will do well enough to get another season.
