    Thanks Brandon, frontside has now become my easiest trick to pull off

    Man I started back in the 90s. It wasn't until I rode deshis with usd 2 piece souls and a freestyle able frame r hat I learned them. Not gonna lie I stopped skating for a few years right as I was learning them. Spend an hour working on them straight last week. Still not comfortable but I'm starting to get the feel on my razors.
    Great video as always man love your channel.

    Just starting to skate again after a short 20 yr break, thanks for the vids, they got me motivated to go to the skatepark and have an idea where i can start, I won't even worry about being judged by the all the scooter kids 😂

    Skating a little while now and Ive always sucked at front/backsides, usually just avoid them, been trying to psych myself up to learn though..

      I'm gonna re-make this tutorial. its a little out of date haha
      Front/backsides are very scary and hard to learn. I wish you all the best!

    Is it possible to frontside a ledge with flat setup? I only see people doing it with anti-rocker or they will only royale with flat

    • @BrandonDrummond
      @BrandonDrummond  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, it is possible. Some skates and frames are easier to do them on than others. I found Razors skates (like in this video) are easier to royal than frontside, but Roces M12s for example are much easier for front sides vs royales.

    Awesome how too! Not many around anymore. Can you do top souls and Kind next? Maybe a video showing what Top soul, kind and True grinds actually are. I get so confused.

      Sounds good to me. Id love to continue this series ✌🏻glad you like it too. Thanks man.

      @@BrandonDrummond please start with basic grinds. From your vids got Makio, Mizou and Soul. Working on Acid, Porn and Mistrial but can only stall them not slide. As for front side really scary. Might go straight to Royal after watching this.

      Will do. Yeah I'd recommend trying them both at the same time. Youll get them eventualy

    Old vid but do u recommend learning on a ledge or rail?

    • @BrandonDrummond
      @BrandonDrummond  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Rail is easier, especially is you skate flat. But the falls on rail are much worse. So I'd do what ever feels safer

    Does any one else have knee pain when you squat down at an angle for royales? I'm skating again after a broken leg and surgery. My right knee hurts when I get down low for a royale. Hopefully it goes away.

    • @BrandonDrummond
      @BrandonDrummond  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thats scary man. I did find my knees hurt at first, especially when ai learnt them switch. but they get stronger the more you do royals and it stops hurting. Your broken leg may be different tho.

      Hey how are you doing now? Is your knee any better? I hope the best for you.

    • @AndyRipley42
      @AndyRipley42 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ok-ln5lh Thank you for asking. Pain has gone away for the most part. Still can't do royales but I'm working on them. Slow and steady. 😁

    I always slip out when I try frontside so it scares me a bit... But I'm gonna get it down soon

    • @BrandonDrummond
      @BrandonDrummond  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    How to I retain the front side? I keep gaining and losing that skill

    • @BrandonDrummond
      @BrandonDrummond  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      For tricks that I keep loosing, I find "1 uping" the trick helps me learn it long term. Try to go for a royale or frontsiding the opposite way. I find that will give me more confidence in myself with the trick. Thanks for watching and good luck 🙏

    I know this video is 6 years old now, who knows if youll read this but i can understand why you vaguely explain the royal lol im 2 years deep and can do a few top side tricks well but still suck at the royal LOL i just get lucky sometimes and land it but 90% of the time it looks like a fs and i just get turned off to the trick

    Frontside is easier than a Royale...

      Easier to slide once you learn it.
