Second of all I just want to point out a few things about the map and stuff. -"this isn't a bag" yea the bag was in the kitchen on the table, after you would pick it up you would have to pick up that wallet. -the house in the beginning is based on my real house, and yes the mirror was there, I never thought of making it for a scare lol -one of the reason I even started mapping is your channel, I've been watching you since you were a small yt, I think I watched all of your gmod videos and most of the criticsm you had for many maps so I wanted to make a map that would make get those fixed. -I remember you saying you worked as a security guard at the cinema ( I think) so that was just a happy coincidence. -I also remember that you like when maps let you explore lit up buildings that will later be dark, so I did just that. -The gun is only there for "false protection" -The only reason why you don't just get the usp is that I thought you will use the safety glock. -The door in the basement is a reference to the shining. -Theres one easter egg you've missed, on a bunch of tables there are packs of ciggarettes aaaaaand boxes of matches with your pfp on it! -I don't think you've noticed but all of the clocks are actually clicking! It's been a rough couple of weeks. Halloween is my favorite holiday yet due to personal reasons I just don't feel it this year. However, a new upload does bring a smile to my face
To the Librarian, thank you very much for visiting my maps. I made gm_deep_sea, gm_70s_pool, gm_70s_pool_abandoned and gm_Theater. Now for some behind the Senes info: for 70s_pool was not based of any own place I just took some elements from reference images and yes, I did some urban exploration in my time. for deep_sea you can actually flood the entire base by breaking any of the portholes and idk way the air lock was so broken for him. and for gm_Theater, it was inspired by Le Grand Theatre in Geneva more specifically on its pre-1951 form. I went there a few times and kind of wanted to make my map in the more 1960s style architecture it now looks like but I settled on the Neo classical look the theatre originally hade. I was also inspired by 30s musicals I watched.
I love how the transition at 2:08:00 between An Untold Story and Night Shift makes it feel like you just woke up from a nightmare, only to find yourself trapped in another one.
I remember the last year's Halloween special, 8 maps, 2 hours of joy, that was incredible back then. But now there are 13 maps and 3 best hours of my life, this is enormous. You saved me once, and I'm thankful for everything that you've made for me & your audience. Happy Halloween, best regards 4 best holiday.
1:05:11 Yes, with high fidelity maps, they almost always use props and layer it over simpler geometry that you walk on. A good example of this would be CS:GO's newer maps. As one can only get so much out of displacement brushwork in regards to detail.

To respond to the comment about swedish cities and cry of fear, as someone from sweden, yes - Cry of fear does a *really* good job at representing the exact look and feel of big cities in Sweden, particularly stockholm and gothenburg. As a Swede; it's a very creepy-comfy game in that regard.

This is great, added to my watch later playlist to watch at night. I remember last years halloween marathon and it was pretty entertaining. As an ex-soviet country dude (Lithuania), i also enjoyed the Stalker playthroughs. I can recommend you playing Stalker Lost Alpha. It's free on moddb. But be aware, it's a longer title, because they restored every cut content from SOC.
Gm_theater really hit me hard. As a kid, I went to a day camp thing at the local high school since my single mom was working. We'd be in this cozy back room of the school, all playing our DS games. But sometimes, we'd venture through the door in the back, which led to the auditorium's backstage. The auditorium which was always dark, always silent when compared to the cozy lit room on the other side of the door. We'd hide back there sometimes, seeing how long it would take us to find each other. Or how long we could stand the feeling of dread emanating from the darkness. Creepy and comfy has its roots in those memories for me.
Seeing the upload by the Librarian, then noticing the title,and then noticing the length of the video!!!! What a rollercoaster of Serotonin! I may be late and it may be November 1st now, but i’m still gonna watch this with extreme delight, creepiness and comfort!
I like to save up librarian videos so that when I have the urge I can just watch a whole bunch that are new to me, even if they aren’t necessarily “new” I especially enjoyed librarians commentary on the theater map as someone who does tech work for a theater company. Knowing that I’d probably be one of those crazy lighting guys that’d drive librarian up the wall is a special treat.

Blockbuster Video was for sure a nostalgia place to Rent Video Games and Rent Movies. Mainly people would Rent New Releases. Some people nowadays found their old Blockbuster Video Membership Card. I remember from my experience to go Rent Video Games and or Movies on Friday Nights. I also remember a company who was trying to compete with them was called Hollywood Video.

Agree completely about the "mine" cave/tunnel. No way could I go underground or walk into a cave/mine. I'd constantly think about a collapse or an earthquake occuring while I'm inside. Being buried alive = nightmare of nightmares. 😱 PS -- Also caves with water & wearing scuba gear. Hell no!! That's just me though. I can feel the panic rising thinking about it.
Here in Brazil we don't celebrate Halloween like other countries do. Sure we get some costume parties but that's kinda boring. I always wanted to actually celebrate Halloween like Americans do. Go door to door asking for trick or treat, get candy and just hang out with my friends. But hey, at least I have a 3 hour long video of my favourite TH-camr playing Halloween maps on GMod. At least my afternoon will be good.
That's great Halloween is cool when your young but the older you get the less it becomes all that special but as an adult I like to celebrate it by watching classic horror movies and watching Halloween themed TH-cam videos, when you are a kid it's fun because tricking or treating is more of a kid since the whole thing about getting candy and dressing up as your favorite characters can also be an adult thing. but it's not as fun when your an adult in my opinion, but it's still fun to celebrate in your own way.
OH I'm so glad your covering some of the maps I added to my gmod list so far! Wild west mines... looks like your getting to it first before me.... I also know a lot of interesting maps so far. Honestly I am gonna be going to you for a bunch of maps since I do love your videos and you usually link the maps. So I am gonna take advantage of that more. Also I am not sure if vmanip night vision or modern warfare nightvision goggles like the mod I have right now work with VR but definitely feel free to experiment with other interesting interaction mods for more immersion like more vr guns or door interaction mod which is simillar to Ready Or Not's door system (not even kidding even has peaking and door kicking, though I use a seperate dynamic kicking for my door breaches). Vmanip or whatever it's essentially called as a mod base also has more contextual interaction mods such as animations for opening doors and picking up items which is very immersive, your in VR anyway mind you. Prone mod would be use for VR though, just double press crouch ;), fully animated. Leaning and sliding mods exist too as well as Max Payne diving. I love gmod's modding freedom, i am building a interesting survival horror tactical realism mod set thing right now out of my 64 bit branch build of gmod. Allows for inf map base maps too. Omg get the 64 bit gmod activated for much better performance get multicore rendering enabled fully and get yourself checking out inf map base maps... thier a bit barren but they are revolutionairy as they have fully ported grand theft auto maps and they also go beyond source engine limitations by having maps that go indefinitely as part of the base, perfect for helicopter or plane exploration, or car exploration. Gta infinite map base maps like vice city is very entertaining in GMOD. Red Dead 2 and Skyrim is also fun to fly around in a jet or plane, helicopter.
I'll be honest, I was a bit bummed you hadn't done any gmod Halloween maps yet this season. They are easily some of my favorites to watch during the Halloween. I am so glad I was VERY wrong!! Thanks for keeping the creepy and comfy vibes going all year round with all your videos. There's definitely something extra special though when we get actual Halloween gmod maps for a librarian video during Halloween itself! I always get stressed out on the day of and end up not doing anything but hearing you express your feelings on the subject made me realize I'm the same and was just trying to force extra importance on the day itself. You should commission a mod that incorporates an underbarrel flashlight to the safety glock, so you get the same effect as physically holding the flashlight, while also having the safety of the safety glock, effectively making the super safe glock

Admittedly, the entire halloween season got started by a bunch of Irish shamans probably high on some mushrooms dancing around a bonfire wearing masks in an attempt to commune with the dead. The only reason it got as popular as it did was because it Americanised by Irish immigrants who wished to keep their traditions alive in a foreign land, and they seemed to somewhat succeed, so good for them.

Here in Brazil we don't celebrate Halloween like other countries do. Sure we get some costume parties but that's kinda boring. I always wanted to actually celebrate Halloween like Americans do. Go door to door asking for trick or treat, get candy and just hang out with my friends. But hey, at least I have a 3 hour long video of my favourite TH-camr playing Halloween maps on GMod. At least my afternoon will be good.
That's great Halloween is cool when your young but the older you get the less it becomes all that special but as an adult I like to celebrate it by watching classic horror movies and watching Halloween themed TH-cam videos, when you are a kid it's fun because tricking or treating is more of a kid since the whole thing about getting candy and dressing up as your favorite characters can also be an adult thing. but it's not as fun when your an adult in my opinion, but it's still fun to celebrate in your own way.

OH I'm so glad your covering some of the maps I added to my gmod list so far! Wild west mines... looks like your getting to it first before me.... I also know a lot of interesting maps so far. Honestly I am gonna be going to you for a bunch of maps since I do love your videos and you usually link the maps. So I am gonna take advantage of that more.
Also I am not sure if vmanip night vision or modern warfare nightvision goggles like the mod I have right now work with VR but definitely feel free to experiment with other interesting interaction mods for more immersion like more vr guns or door interaction mod which is simillar to Ready Or Not's door system (not even kidding even has peaking and door kicking, though I use a seperate dynamic kicking for my door breaches). Vmanip or whatever it's essentially called as a mod base also has more contextual interaction mods such as animations for opening doors and picking up items which is very immersive, your in VR anyway mind you.
Prone mod would be use for VR though, just double press crouch ;), fully animated. Leaning and sliding mods exist too as well as Max Payne diving.
I love gmod's modding freedom, i am building a interesting survival horror tactical realism mod set thing right now out of my 64 bit branch build of gmod. Allows for inf map base maps too.
Omg get the 64 bit gmod activated for much better performance get multicore rendering enabled fully and get yourself checking out inf map base maps...
thier a bit barren but they are revolutionairy as they have fully ported grand theft auto maps and they also go beyond source engine limitations by having maps that go indefinitely as part of the base, perfect for helicopter or plane exploration, or car exploration.
Gta infinite map base maps like vice city is very entertaining in GMOD. Red Dead 2 and Skyrim is also fun to fly around in a jet or plane, helicopter.
I'll be honest, I was a bit bummed you hadn't done any gmod Halloween maps yet this season. They are easily some of my favorites to watch during the Halloween. I am so glad I was VERY wrong!!

I always get stressed out on the day of and end up not doing anything but hearing you express your feelings on the subject made me realize I'm the same and was just trying to force extra importance on the day itself. You should commission a mod that incorporates an underbarrel flashlight to the safety glock, so you get the same effect as physically holding the flashlight, while also having the safety of the safety glock, effectively making the super safe glock

Admittedly, the entire halloween season got started by a bunch of Irish shamans probably high on some mushrooms dancing around a bonfire wearing masks in an attempt to commune with the dead. The only reason it got as popular as it did was because it Americanised by Irish immigrants who wished to keep their traditions alive in a foreign land, and they seemed to somewhat succeed, so good for them.
