Leave it to Opeth fans to really make some of the most accurate midis of pretty complex music out there. This is so rad. Definitely a top 5 album for me made into something pretty fun. Appreciate it.
The MIDI doesn't seem accurate at all. The very first note of the album is wrong; the riff is supposed to start with an open E. I skipped to Bleak; someone straight up invented their own (bad) drum groove instead of transcribing the real one. Not that I blame OP. If this is the best transcription on Ultimate Guitar or whatever then there's not much they can do about it.
@@coffinsoniothey really aren't which is what makes their music even more interesting, they manage to create a very distinct "musical journey" throughout all the genres they're inspired from, while having an insanely catchy approach to their songwriting, they give you tons of moments to groove and bang your head then they hit you with some of the most beautiful and ethereal acoustic parts
This is so cool. Simultaneously stirs memories of exploring the greatness of Mario 64 when it first came out and an all time classic metal album. Thanks

This and "In Cauda Venenum" are albums that stand up well, even without reaching the level of a "Damnation".

I never noticed how much phrygian mode was used on this album compared to their other heavy albums. I generally dislike phrygian mode in metal as I feel it's overused but the Akerfeldt weirdness makes it great here of course.
