It's a nice touch to compliment a cool saber.
I ordered a Dissident with this wrap a month ago. I love it!
Also a black stingray wrap is probably just the latest Galaxy's Edge lunch item.
I wrapped a hilt using actual rayskin once. Man that stuff is tough, even soaked it really is a strong material. Once dried iets like some sort of super plastic. Lovely feel, however a pain to work with if you don't know what you're doing.

What an amazingly informative video! Thank you! I'm currently in the process of putting together ideas for a sith saber and the one I'm considering utilizes SaberForge's wraps. However it's pretty hard to see them giving the small product windows SF provide for their wraps. I wasn't sure if I wanted the stingray wrap vs the reptile. Thanks to you, I'm confident that the stingray is the one I want. The saber I'm currently interested in is the Sinister Prophecy Mk2 which I plan to get weathered with the black stingray wrap. I think it'll be a very nice Sith saber. :)

Considering that the whole concept of star wars was based upon samurais (look at vader and tell me I am wrong). It is called a samegawa.

No worries. The lightsaber in the video is a custom Saberforge ASP lightsaber, if anyone else reading this comment is wondering.
Fun fact: the import and export of ray skin is illegal in many asian countries.
Well, Saberforge uses synthetic leather material.
