Sure wish I'd known about this video before I attempted twice, unsuccessfully to make this neat scissor pouch for a swap exchange. Since I messed them both up, I was very hesitant to try a 3rd time without seeking out help on where I went wrong. For that swap a few months ago, I went on to select a different scissor holder project and ironically, my swap partner made that same new one for me, but in different fabrics and thread colors! But now I'm looking forward to tackle this one again and will keep this video on my desktop, stopping it as I go along to my machine a few feet away. Somehow I'm encouraged that my 3rd time will be the charm!
Hi Bobbi it is always the way isnt it. I am sure you will nail it this time, they say third time lucky don't they. Good luck with your stitch out of this design. Happy stitching.
Thank you, Kay! Super nice SAL. I love the fabrics you chose for your beautiful scissors case and pincushion. Perfect for our Happy Place. Thank you for your time and sharing another fabulous SAL! Angel Huggers!!!
Hi Sue I use the cheapest masking tape I can find because generally it is much more sticky than the more expensive stuff. Don't use low tack stuff through it doesn't work. Some people have said that they use medical tape with good results. I haven't used it myself though.
Kays Cutz Thank u Kay i have bought the design and was hoping there would be , i have been making the scissors case u have video of and the 5x7 great no problems but when i try to stitch the 6x7 i’m finding a problem , i don’t have a 6x7 hoop so i tried using my 300x200 which as you know is bigger than the 6x7 . now my machine which is the Brother Stellaire . will let me stitch out the front no problem but when i put my hoop in ready to stitch the back my machine tells me i need a bigger hoop? i have tried rotating it but still it won’t allow me to stitch it i also have a red square around the design i have tried down loading it again but still no change , if you could help me please i would be grateful i’ve wasted stabliser wadding and fabric for a back i can’t stitch 😪
Hi, Kay! This is a neat SAL. I have a question. From my computer screen, it seems your embroidery foot is pretty high above the fabric. Do you adjust to be really high, or is it just my screen?
Thanks Virginia. I can adjust my foot but generally it is set at 4.0 - 4.5 mm depending on my fabrics. If I am stitching something with height to it like fake fur then I raise it up.
@@KaysCutz Thank you for your reply. I can raise mine as well. I was just curious if it was something you did all the time. I understand now. :) I am learning and every little bit helps me.
@@lisapyfrom4801 the fabric that you place on the front of your hoop goes the right side facing up, The front pocket of the scissor keeper then sits on top so that it too is right side up facing you. The back pocket fabric is the piece that you press in half and then you place it on top of the front pocket. You want the upside down face of your folded fabric facing up when you place it on top of the front pocket, so that the pattern ends up right way up when when you turn everything out the right way later on. Then lastly the pocket lining then goes face down this will form an envelope back to the scissor keeper and that in turn is the pocket on the back. I hope that makes sense.
@@KaysCutz yes It does make sense and thank you so much for getting back to me I thought I had done it wrong but I’m on the right track so far, I’m super excited to complete it
Hi Erlinda the fabric is from Remnaent House in the UK but Emma will post abroad very cheaply. www.remnanthousefabric.co.uk/index.php?route=product/search&search=Vintage&sub_category=true
