    Sitjaopho, founded by twins Kru O and Kru F, has been a gym known for having, in common opinion, the most beautiful style of muaythai. They are muay femurs, technical fighters, through and through.
    Top Muaythai fighters tend to flock to Sitjaopho Muaythai Gym in Hua Hin frequently, travelling thousands of miles from across the world. Over the years, some of them include Joseph Lasiri (WBC Muay Thai World Bantamweight Champion and ONE Strawweight Muay Thai World Champion), Sanny Dahlback (WMC Nordic Champion) and Marie Mc Manamon (52.5kg UK Number 1) amongst many others.
    In this video, we speak to our gym mates, each of whom are accomplished Muaythai fighters in their own right. Special shout-out to Paul Suponha, Greg Bander, Michael Boatwright and Xavier Barker for the interviews.

    I was there a few months ago and will be back three months from now. Michael helped me a lot; sparing with F was so much fun.
    There are many things to love about this gym, but one thing that really stood out was how the trainers watch you on the heavy bag, during pad work, and when you spar, and they focus on what YOU need to work on when you are doing your solo sessions with them.
    There was never a time when I would look around and see someone else doing the same drills as me. We were all working on something different.
    It's definitely not a place for the faint of heart, you are going to be training in the heat, and the evening session is much more challenging than the morning sessions. Still, it was by far the most incredible training experience I've ever had.
    Hua Hin is beautiful, too; I went hiking into a cave and ate some great food every day, and it was not expensive. So many good things to share about my time at Sitjaopho.

      Thank you so much for sharing your experience there! We'd love to hear from everyone who has been there and who love it. Michael is awesome and yes, so helpful! We too learnt so much from Kru F and all the other Krus. The energy at Sitjaopho is so giving and happy. Hope we all get to get back there and train again soon. 😀

      Sitjaopho is really a great training camp, with teachers and students with a lot of kindness and heart. That's why we go back regularly, and will continue to do so. Hope you can train there too soon!

    Seems great, but I hear Kru F is now living in Sweden. Given that he seems to be the driving force there, is the gym still as good as before?
    Also, are there any Thais training/ fighting from there? What's the average ratio of Thais/ farangs?

    • @plenaandco
      @plenaandco  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Hi Shaun, actually Kru F is living in Hua Hin and running the gym, while his twin brother Kru O lives in Sweden with his family. In our opinion, the gym is as good as ever, and thriving. And because every Thai gym is run differently, Sitjaopho has a different atmosphere from a gym like say, Petchyindee, which grooms mostly Thai fighters. At Sitjaopho, you'll more often than not meet and train with top level foreign fighters from all over the world. As for Thai fighters, Sitjaopho only has a couple, most notably Jai-Phet, who is one of the trainers and who also fights actively. He is a beast and students get to spar and clinch with him on a regular basis. You'll also encounter some of their foreign resident fighters, who can stand shoulder-to-shoulder with high level Thai fighters in terms of prowess and muaythai style. 😊

    What’s the best time to go train at Thailand?

    • @plenaandco
      @plenaandco  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There isn't really a best time to go, as it's pretty good all year round. But we tend to like training in the cooler months (October to end Jan), as mid-year can get pretty hot in Thailand. Hua Hin also enjoys cooler weather than say, Bangkok and Phuket. 🙂

    I will be in Thailand in two weeks and I really would like to join this camp, do they offer accommodation at the camp, or are there places close to gym as I see the gym is not so close tu hua hin city?😃🙏

    • @plenaandco
      @plenaandco  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Hi Jack, you really gotta go train at Sitjaopho while you are in Hua Hin, Thailand. Right now, they do not have any on-site accomodation, but most students will stay at nearby, affordable accommodations like Mon Mai Resort (the closest one to the gym, but still about 2km, so you can either jog to the gym or rent a scooter), The Bike Loft and Triple ZZZ Hotel. There were also many people who chose to stay in the city, and take a Grab taxi (perhaps about 15 mins) to the gym for training. But if you intend to train everyday, twice a day, we would recommend staying near the gym. The gym is situated in a district called Hin Lek Fai, and there are also enough restaurants, food stalls and convenience stores to keep you going. We have another video on a typical day at Sitjaopho, as well as our accomodations (The Bike Loft) and several food places we frequented while training there. You can watch it for a better idea, if you're planning to go train at Sitjaopho. It's a great place to train at! Enjoy!

    Is this gym perfect for newbie beginners?

    • @plenaandco
      @plenaandco  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi! We have met one or two complete beginners at the gym, over the trips that we've been there, but not many. A large part of training sessions are dedicated to sparring and clinching, and that's something you would only want to dip your toes in after you have become confident of your basics. Mostly, the 'beginners' as we speak of, would already have been doing muaythai for a few months, and would know how to kick, punch, knee, elbow. They just may not have the sparring experience. We would suggest starting some beginner classes at a gym in your country before coming to Sitjaopho to train, so that you can hit the ground running and be able to make the most of your trip there. But still, all are welcome at Sitjaopho and they are indeed a very warm and friendly gym. Just speak to Kru F and he will work something out for you. You can reach out to Kru F on Instagram (@pisit_kambang ). He speaks and writes English, so he'll be able to advise you. Have fun! 😃😃

      @dodo5346 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@plenaandco I know how to kick, throw elbows, clinch, etc. It’s just my stamina and endurance that I’m worried😂 To put into context, I feel like puking and I’m panting heavily after running about 1.6km-2km. I can’t skip for 5 minutes straight non-stop. I’m more worried that I can’t cope with the morning runs, warm-ups, knees and kicks to the bags, and skipping. I’ve done some pad works, I’d say it’s pretty smooth, but I get breathless after 3 minutes rounds

    • @plenaandco
      @plenaandco  ปีที่แล้ว

      I think you should be ok there. The runs are completely optional, so you can skip those if you like. And Sitjaopho is much more about technique than about brute fitness. What we tend to do (if say, we were training there for a month), is to start off with just one session a day rather than two sessions a day - the morning sessions are lighter than the afternoon sessions, so we would start with just going for morning sessions the first few days until we get more into the swing of it. Then we gradually work towards two sessions a day. Definitely take it at your own pace. The trainers there are all very kind and understanding and will only push you slightly beyond your comfort zone (for best progress). 🙂🙂🙂

      @@plenaandco Do you know what are the prices to train there?

    • @plenaandco
      @plenaandco  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Sure, for the moment, the prices are:
      One session per day: 400 baht
      Two sessions per day: 600 baht
      One session per day for a week: 2000 baht
      Two sessions per day for a week: 3000 baht
      One session per day for a month: 7000 baht
      Two sessions per day for a month: 10000 baht
      Also, if you haven't already, you might wanna watch our other video on Sitjaopho which gives a little more details on the day-to-day training at Sitjaopho, and also where we stayed and what we ate around the gym.
