      The D610 also had the oil and dust issues, and the D750, which that had a Sun Flare issue too.. I just bought a used D600 a few days ago, it is 7% used, no more oil left to drip out.. What lens are you using?

      @@diegoo.9487 I've also owned a D600 since launch and have shot a few weddings with it with no issues. Unless you're printing murals, then 24 megapixels is still quite sufficient in 2020 and the low light performance is very good.
      If you intend to do video work, though, then the camera is quite outdated in that regard.

    If you are buying an old full frame camera, then you must be on a budget. Being on a budget means you should probably also consider the price of lenses. And this is where the Nikon wins over the Sony - it has a lot of cheap old lenses, especially those without AF motor in them.

    • @ceaschannle5752
      @ceaschannle5752 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Not really. Sony being mirrorless, you can adapt almost any lens on it including the same old Nikon glass. With nikon however, you are almost exclusively limited to Nikon glass, even vast world of m42 lenses are no go. So, Sony wins hands down.

    • @vitaminxbg
      @vitaminxbg 3 ปีที่แล้ว +13

      @@ceaschannle5752 I agree, but only if you can afford to focus manually, from the standpoint of being able to do your job. If you need AF, which most people do, Nikon is the better option - Sony's lenses are much more expensive.

    • @ceaschannle5752

      @@vitaminxbg There's many third party lenses that are very good and even better than Sony.... Sigma or even Rokinon/Samyang are good examples.

    • @ceaschannle5752
      @ceaschannle5752 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@slooob23 If we are talking Nikon DSLR, no, Nikon does not come even close, the distance from lens to the sensor is prohibitive for most lenses, Sony can use almost any lens made, including full frame rangefinders. Nikon, well its stuck with only Nikon glass and third party that are no longer made. Sigma, Tamron, Samyang, etc are being made for Sony, however, they all discontinued DSLR r&d lineup and production.

    • @ceaschannle5752
      @ceaschannle5752 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@slooob23 You can use all of those lenses on used A7 and all the other budgets lenses that none of Nikon DSLR' can . It's much more limited camera platform. I bought A7 for $369 and A7S for 400. Exceptional quality m42 lenses can be less then $50 to 100 . If that's not a low enough budget, you need a different hobby.
      Also, when using manual lenses on DSLR vs mirrorless is pita, mirrorless with focus peaking wins every time.

    I purchased the D600 camera in like 2016 used for around 800$. I did have the sensor oil issue. I lived with it for about a year as it wasn't really bad. Then i sent it into Nikon for the D610 free shutter replacement. Turn around was quick... about a week. So far 3 years later and thousands of pictures 0 issues. This review hits it right on the head. If you can get this or a D610 used it is more than adequate enough for pretty much anything you wanna shoot. I really enjoy shooting with this camera. 👍

Since I’m partial to Nikon, I’ll probably grab a D600/610. Looking at my old images from my D800, D7100, I just can’t ignore the dynamic range issue, and that’s where I think these Nikons have a big edge over similar generation Canon DSLRs. January 2022. Right after Christmas I got one used in mint conditions for €570. It is now the companion to my D810. I chose from D610, D750, D780 and Z5 and got as much information as possible to make the decision. This video was helpful as well.
    Especially the unability to change aperture in live mode is the biggest drawback for the D610 in my eyes. However, other than that, the D610 was a bargin for it's price and what it delivers, which gave room to purchase in addition an A-grade AF 180 f2.8 IF-ED lens for € 365. After-Christmas double strike 😀👍 I find the image and low light performance already fantastic. A lot of reason to smile 😁

    I purchased a D600 at launch. I went through many different APS-C cameras over a few short years before buying this. I had a Nikon D80, then D300, then D7000 but I wasn't very satisfied with the image quality. Then I purchased the D600 at launch and have been using it quite happily for I guess now 8 years. Still an excellent camera for stills.
    I was even lazy for several years with regard to the free service for the dust issue, but I was surprised that they were still offering that until early this year and was able to get the shutter issue serviced even after 7 years.
    I believe they've stopped doing the free servicing now, so I agree that D610 would be a safer purchase on the used market.

      Don't stress about the dust, even if your D600 has the dust issue, it's not really noticeable unless you stop down a lot. At wide apertures like f/1.8 even down to f/5.6 you won't notice the issue. It's really only at f/11 and beyond that it becomes apparent.

    I have the D610. It produces excellent quality images. I only buy Nikon products. They are sheer quality. My cable remote, as an example, was £30, but i know it wont let me down. The D610 is 24mp, but that is plenty. It really is a superb camera. It's a bit heavy, but, because of my age, i use a monopod a lot of the time. I hate unsharp photos. My previous camera was a D80. I still use it when i need lightness, although old now, and 10mp, it still produces stunning results.
    I have built my system around the D610. 16-35mm FX. 35mm FX. 50mm FX. 85mm FX. 24-85mm FX All great lenses. And they work just as well on the D80.
    I dont need to spends thousands of pounds (which i dont have !) upgrading to the latest mirrorless models for no discernable difference in image quality.

    Didn't turn off after hours and hours of streaming. Use the film live-view and cycle through the "info" button to get rid of all ui-icons. You can still change ISO, focus, etc live.
    Obviously set the live view to infinite in the settings and use an akku-power adapter and hdmi mini out cable. The Vitesun power adapter costs 20$, a cheap hdmi-usb adapter 12$, the Cam can do 720P@ 60fps and 1080@30fps, which is plenty for streaming.

    I have focus problems on Nikon D610 while shooting in auto mode. Photos are slightly blurry in auto mode. However, in P (program) mode I don't have that problem. Photos are very good and sharper than the ones in Auto mode. Any ideas? I use 24-120 VR lens.

    Thanks.I'm torn between this ( or the D750) and mirrorless. Battery life and low light performance are important. Sony A7 suffers from poor battery I believe, though the Sony video is better than D610. If I;m not going for video, then Nikon appears a better choice. Tough decision though. Many years ago I bought a Sony camer and batter was awful then too, so it worries me than the problem persists, at least at this price range.

      Ha! I'm considering going the other way! I miss the ergonomics and the OVF of my old Nikon DSLR but I do like the low light capabilities of my Sony a7II and the light weight. Focus Peaking is a really cool feature on the Sony which I'd miss but I don't think I'd lose any sleep over it

    For photography

    • @hieuhughesle-au9884
      @hieuhughesle-au9884 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The d610 is full frame and 7500 is apsc, each are great in their own niche:
      The d610 will offer better low light and have shallower depth of field along with support for the battery grip and 2 SD card slot. Video is not the best at 1080p 30fps max
      Where as the d7500 has a newer apsc sensor, tilting touch screen, upto 4k recording for video , and higher native iso range ( 6400 iso is somewhat usable, I had a d500 with has a similar sensor) and bluetooth/wifi for snapbridge ( single SD card)
      Think of it like this: d610 is a luxury car from 10 years past
      And the d7500 is a new Economy car with update features
      Note *xxxD is canon and Dxxx is nikon ; )
      Happy shooting

    I've always used APS-C & MFT mirrorless cameras but wanted to try FF so I got a D610 on ebay. Yes, the IQ was excellent but compared to MILC the handling was primitive - no instant feedback, loud clunky shutter, so I got a Sony a99 and couldn't be happier - lighter, quieter, live photo style view (I do a lot of B&W so that's very important), lots of quality cheap lenses because A mount is discontinued, IQ is second do none.
