I lost my auntie who was my best friend and father just under a year ago in the same month. This song reminds me how much they loved summer and how they made the season a dream for me each year. "Tupelo honey sweet, laughing in the back seat, summer dream" -- I always sat on the left side, back seat. They would roll the window down for me and I'd stick my hand out of the window, laughing and feeling the wonder of the warm months.
Rest in eternal sunshine dad and auntie emy. I'll forever remember the glow of the sun on your skin while driving down the highway. I will forever remember you in my summer dreams. I love you both forever.
