      Hi!! For this age, bring an umbrella stroller and baby carrier. You’ll quickly figure out which one is more convenient to use around the ship vs. in port. The baby carrier can be especially helpful when going to the buffet as it frees up both hands.
      amzn.to/3TajIrK
      Make sure they get their naps in. We tend to go back to our stateroom for naps, but if you have an umbrella stroller that reclines and are out and about on the ship during nap time, then that can also be useful or of course in the baby carrier.
      Depending on if baby can nap with noise or not, noise canceling ear muffs work well!
      amzn.to/3X2b5Bh
      Also, a sound machine to block out any noise. amzn.to/3AqvpUO
      If baby sleeps in a crib, request one for your stateroom.
      If you need to store breastmilk, you can bring a cooler and request ice from your room steward daily or store with Guest Services.
      amzn.to/3EYYt8x
      2 of our absolute must-haves are disposable bibs and placemats:
      amzn.to/3Mqt2pl
      amzn.to/3Vg4pzx
      When our daughter was at the age where she couldn’t keep food on a plate, we’d take them with us and it makes for easy clean up. ☺️ They also helped her stay extremely clean lol and the placemats are so much more sanitary than just putting baby’s food on the high chair table.
      Bring bottles, sippy cups, a couple bowls with lids and snacks like fruit pouches, puffs and teethers, which are helpful in the mornings before heading out for breakfast or in port.
      Of course, bring diapers, wipes, extra clothes, dollar store diaper disposal bags and any meds you could end up needing.
      We also cut up a sponge and put dish soap on it prior to leaving so we can wash her cups in the room.
      Oh and a collapsible hamper is awesome! Little ones go through so many clothes so it’s nice to have a place to put them! We bring a couple laundry pods and dryer sheets. It’s helpful to do laundry at least once. amzn.to/3ejPTq6
      For the room, lightweight books like Indestructible books are cool, stacking/nesting blocks and other random age-appropriate toys.
      amzn.to/3ePtNvS
      Our most favorite item is a clear shoe organizer held up by super strong magnetic hooks. We hang it on the wall and it helps us stay sooo organized! It’s definitely a MUST! And the magnetic hooks also help hold up jackets, backpacks, hats, etc.
      amzn.to/3fV9KfJ
      amzn.to/3rGfYT9
      For water play on the deck, you can bring a collapsible basket and some water toys, just make sure to put a towel down underneath because the deck gets hot.
      amzn.to/3TWl1LB
      If you’re doing any beach days, a little pop-up tent is nice for that age, if shade will be limited:
      amzn.to/3DeOD0Y
      Enjoy your cruise! ❤️

    Going on our second cruise with a little one in a month! The first time she was 6 months old so we didn't do much haha but now she's 15 months and mobile so it's a whole new ball game!

    • @barrettosontheloose
      @barrettosontheloose  ปีที่แล้ว

      So fun! Definitely a new ball game! We’re headed on our 2.5yo’s 4th cruise next month and each time we’ve cruised with her, it’s a different experience. At these ages, their personalities are constantly changing, their stranger anxiety, their comfort level of letting mom and dad out of sight, etc.
      When we took our daughter at 14 months she wanted to just do her own thing, walk on her own, etc. Oh and if I remember correctly, she was down to 2 naps then and we’d always make sure to return to our stateroom for naps on sea days so she could get her rest. During naps on port days, we held her in the baby carrier or in the stroller.
      If you haven’t already, make sure you join our Infants & Toddlers Carnival Facebook group: facebook.com/groups/402371458439117/
      Have a wonderful cruise!!

      Did you do any water play at that age? Ours is 19 months just worried she is going to want to go into the water but she is not potty trained.

    • @barrettosontheloose
      @barrettosontheloose  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We brought little water toys and buckets. I highly recommend bringing something like this:
      Collapsible basket (small): amzn.to/3LlAiS8
      OR
      Collapsible basket (large): amzn.to/3H6P2EN
      The large is good if you want your little one to play inside of it. The small is good if you want them to sit outside of it and just play with toys in it.

    • @barrettosontheloose
      @barrettosontheloose  ปีที่แล้ว

      LOL! Right! And I’ll have to do a new one next year for our next baby!!
      For ~2.5+, we no longer do the disposable bibs/placemats or diapers/wipes since she was fully potty-trained before 2.
      She’s been on 4 cruises now and at this point, we still bring the white noise machine, umbrella stroller, sun hat, water shoes, 2 sippy cups, Lysol wipes, hand sanitizing wipes, snacks, Ziploc baggies to get some snacks like cereal from Lido, and stateroom toys and books.
      It’s a little less, lol! 🤗

    What about needing a car seat at ports? For example if you’re taking taxi to an excursion.

    • @barrettosontheloose
      @barrettosontheloose  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      In Mexico and some Caribbean countries, a car seat isn’t required by law.
      Bigger shuttle buses also don’t require car seats.

    Hi, thank you for the helpful video! How did you fill the play bucket? And where did you dump the water afterwards?

    • @barrettosontheloose
      @barrettosontheloose  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi! You’re welcome! You can fill it in the showers and dump it in the drains off to the side of the ship.

  • @italyatheart

    Just came to add don’t buy packing cubes. Just buy the space saver vaccum bags and a hand pump. I have 5 kids. We need more compact than packing cubes so I figured out a while back to put their clothes all in those space bags. You can even put everyone in their own space bag and write their name on it with a sharpie. I use their bags for dirty clothes hampers throughout the trip and then just suck the air out of them when it’s time to pack up and throw them all in one suitcase.

    Hi, I'm wondering what # magnetic hooks do you get to hang up the hanging organizer? How about if you wish to hang things to decorate your door? The ones I took last time didn't work very well. Thanks! :)

    • @barrettosontheloose
      @barrettosontheloose  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      For heavier items like the organizer, we use the Neosmuk 130# ones in this link:
      www.amazon.com/shop/barrettosontheloose/list/3B6BDKNA0E1UI?tag=onamzbotl3-20&ref_=aip_sf_list_spv_ons_mixed_m
      For lighter items like hats and lanyards, the DIYMAG 25# hooks from the link work.
      For hanging items on the door, we use a combination of the hooks and adhesive magnets.

    I have a upcoming cruise trip with my 1year 10months kid.. what medicine do we need to carry for him for motion sickness?

    • @barrettosontheloose
      @barrettosontheloose  หลายเดือนก่อน

      It’s said that children under 1 very rarely get seasick so we’ve never brought anything for our littles. If your babe gets car sick or you’re concerned about potential sea sickness, ask your pediatrician what they recommend that’s safe for this age.
      Hope you guys have a nice cruise!!! 🤗

      That will be fun! Just go with their flow. Make sure they get their naps. Don’t plan too many ship activities for the day. If you’re traveling with a partner, take turns who stays in the room for naps and the other one can go relax on deck. 🤗
