You definitely need to fix the little saw so you can continue to use the Skysaw attachment for your John Deere. Come to think of it. The Skysaw attachment might be the reason the one part of the saw frame broke. 🤔 Rock City is definitely a cool place. Being man made doesn’t take anything away from it because what was done is very cool and allows access to some amazing natural areas that you likely would have a lot of difficulty to access otherwise. The incline rail would be a must do if your there. The cable system from what you show is a fairly basic system with a relatively small motor considering what it lifts. The motor only creates the movement but doesn’t lift much weight since the 2 train cars are connected to opposite ends of the same cable and somewhat balance each other out. In this instance though it seems like it would work harder when one is near the top since the rail at the bottom is relatively level compared to the top.
Wayne Crews that’s what I was wondering as well, how the grade change affects the balance. And you might be right about the sky saw causing that break. I’m not 100% sure, but I’m sure it added some stress in that area.
Your little girl reminded me of my daughter when she was that age, always asking a ton of questions and wanting to help in everything. The stone work was incredible, and the views are amazing. Have a blessed and safe week. Stay healthy.

When cleaning air filter dont let dirt enter the engine. Running with dull chain does not give sufficient resistance and makes saw running at too high rpm which makes it run very hot.
Enjoyed it captain. You'll love that 55. Strong saw got a kick to it, we used them in the woods on production, they last long time. Rock city was awesome I dont know about walking thru tight gorge like that, I'd have anxiety attack. Rail car, are you facing one way going up and different coming down?
You didn't mention Ruby Falls. That's near Rock City and the Incline Railway. You walk through a cave system back inside the mountain to an underground waterfall. We went there when my daughter was just a toddler. She is 48 now.
Nice video! Check out the Mt. Washington Cog railway when you get bored. Its up here by me so it wouldn't be a 2 day trip for you but its one of those impossible infrastructure installations! Also look up Northfield Mountain power station. They pump water up to a reservoir at night when power is cheap, then they drain it through turbines during the day to make power. I'm not sure if thats common around the rest of the US but it certainly isn't in New England!
Should have gone over to Mikes and built a new grille out of expanded metal and thanks for sharing your day with your children they need every minute of your time thanks for your service
The idle is different but that 22 year old saw sounds just like a 455 of today; well it sounds like mine which is a few years old. It's the sort of whistling noise that accompanies the engine sound. No other saws I own make that sound and all other 455s I've heard do make that sound. Just thought that was interesting that that line of saws makes that distinct sound and has for a long time apparently.
Captain, this is "cute kids" Sunday on You Tube for the "Derby" channels I subscribe to......Logger Wade had his boys riding in their Jeep which was cute but your little girl was the absolute cutest.....Reminded me of my "little girl" at that age whose "heart belonged to daddy" and mine to hers......Thanks for posting and making my day as always. Great video!
Hey Cap the drive system for the incline railway is basically a traction elevator system and I’m pretty sure it was built by Otis Elevator. Instead of counterweight and a single elevator car they use one car to counterweight the other. I was an elevator installation mechanic from 2000-2006 so things like this always intrigued me. Thanks for another great video 👍
I have a picture of my family at the see 7 states site from 1958 with my Dad and Mom, sister and me......never took my family there and that is something I really regret...just didn't think about it...too busy with Six Flags and places like that..you are doing it right Captain
That's from lack of oil in gas. I don't use factory specs.have burnt a few up that way .have saw that I've had ten years now not one min.trouble because I mix gas 16:1 runs great very little smoke.
I ride a 2002 Custom Harley Davidson FXR and that is the same Crappy nuts that they put to hold my back lights on the rear fender. I had to get my mechanic to remove them and put real one on that would tighten up complete.
You may want to repair the old saw as well. Then you will have two saws. This will allow you to switch saws as they heat up. Letting them cool down. God bless
I would love to sled down those tracks in the winter! Just imagine the stupid rate of speed you could attain! Stopping would be another story altogether, though... Yet would be a blast to try!
Danger! danger! Will Robertson. If you mount them plastic mounts onto a tree and that tree grows just a tiny bit, guess what happens to the plastic. It breaks into. Just trying to help you avoid surprises. What I do is mount a short piece of 2x4 to the tree then put the mount on the 2x4. Another thing this does is allow you to remove the screws and 2x4 from the tree when your done with it.
being able to remove the mounting completely is an important thing, it will save saw blades. Kleeman said he was going to mount them on trees to be cut down later on meaning that screw is gonna be a risk to the saw blade.
O’ My Goodness Cap’n... how dare you take a day off to leave the homestead and play with the family? You have a list of projects longer than your leg... You know, I decided to give up a vacation one summer because I was too busy clearing out for a new house. My wife and young daughter’s rebelled. So, I sucked it up... piled everyone in the car and headed to Memphis. On the way there, I just couldn’t shake the guilt of leaving my list in suspension. Once there, my wife fulfilled her lifelong dream of visiting Graceland. My daughters enjoyed seeing the Mississippi and riding on a paddle wheel boat. And we all enjoyed eating and watching live musicians on Beale Street. We’d planned on spending three days... but, I found that seeing them enjoy the trip so much made that list of mine seem trivial... so we stretched it out to five. Best move I ever made was to set aside that list and enjoy time with my family... glad to see you doing the same. You see the thing I hadn’t learned yet was that lists never go away... they just undergo revision. That list will still be there when those girls are grown and gone. Enjoy them while you can.
Still say the answer to clearing the invasive plants like the honeysuckle is goats. Some nail on insulators to use trees you already plan to cut down later as fence posts to run some electrical fence wire and you can cheaply fence in a large area for the goats to have them clear half acre sections at a time for you so you can then come in after them to have areas you can walk in to cut the trees out. Pigs would also work but late in the season for them now. A pole saw is a very useful tool in ether manual or electric versions. The ability to both trim up limbs on trees to make walking and driving trails better and the fact you can turn them into reach tools for cutting out thorny bushes at the base.
Andrew H oh I agree! We used to have goats at our old property and we fully plan on getting some here as well. Plus...they are just hilarious to watch!

Andy Moss you gave the same direction. Facing the front. So going up backwards. The backward trip definitely added to my anxiety!
You didn't mention Ruby Falls. That's near Rock City and the Incline Railway. You walk through a cave system back inside the mountain to an underground waterfall. We went there when my daughter was just a toddler. She is 48 now.
Papaw we didn’t have enough time while we were there. Maybe next time.
Rock city and incline is a awesome place we do day trips their we live about hour half from Chattanooga
Travis Macie I’ll be sure to check it out!
The best channel on iTunes by Farr
Bob Winne thanks!
Great video next time you get a chance. Go to Gatlinburg Tennessee it's a nice place to visit too.
Josh Maynard we went there this past spring. Love that area!
Valeu bonito de mais amigo
Captain can you imagine a rescue, if those trains stopped halfway down. You seen the area how would you get the people off the mountain?
Leonard Donaldson that’s what I think every time I go on stuff like that. Ild love to see that training!
@@CaptainKleeman
A FF is always thinking about that.
The 55 is a great saw and that canister in the fuel tank on the 440 is the fuel filter.
Should have gone over to Mikes and built a new grille out of expanded metal and thanks for sharing your day with your children they need every minute of your time thanks for your service
Mark Hunter I believe a brush guard is something I’m going to have to build for that tractor for sure.
I'm hearing you are now Farmer Chris' official uploader.. no edits required!
michael robbins haha. He will put out some great content once he gets going. He is a heck of a guy for sure.
Fuel filter.
Woodcutter 62 yep
Some fantastic views awesome
Looks like you had awesome trip to TN. That is one steep incline.
Kirk Wilson it really was!
Digby O'Dell I’ve found myself listening to saws on other channels trying to see how they run comparably. It’s weird the little habits we pick up!
Great video!
mrmikeyd I watched wades video as well this morning! He’s doing it right. That logger wade is a good man.
Matt & Andy-American Tradesmen that makes sense. Just balances out the other. Hey thanks for the info sir!
Hopefully the John Deere logo is a bit easier to find than the GoPro lol.
Eddie Buckelew hopefully
Do you have any Patches from Louisiana ???
Ada Pedneau I’ll have to double check but I’m not sure I do.
Even though it's mostly man made that Rock City place looks pretty interesting. Looks like you guys had a good time in Tennessee.
Construction Trucks it was a great trip!
@@CaptainKleeman 👍🏻
I have a picture of my family at the see 7 states site from 1958 with my Dad and Mom, sister and me......never took my family there and that is something I really regret...just didn't think about it...too busy with Six Flags and places like that..you are doing it right Captain
That's from lack of oil in gas. I don't use factory specs.have burnt a few up that way .have saw that I've had ten years now not one min.trouble because I mix gas 16:1 runs great very little smoke.
That must have been your Indiana plate i saw! Lol just kidding- theres a lot of them! Did you go toPigeon Forge and Sevierville?
Captain next time you’re in Chattanooga you need to go to Ruby Falls
Did you check out ruby falls up on lookout mountain it's worth it.
Bill Douglas 420 we didn’t have time on this trip but maybe next time we go.
Gas does not have enough oil that's why it skalded piston I always mix 16:1 smokesa little but can run saw all-day long none stop.
Anthony Bracknell I run 50:1 now but plan on switching to 40:1. And maybe adjust it from there. Thank for the tip!
It’s a fuel filter
Michael young yep
I ride a 2002 Custom Harley Davidson FXR and that is the same Crappy nuts that they put to hold my back lights on the rear fender. I had to get my mechanic to remove them and put real one on that would tighten up complete.
You may want to repair the old saw as well. Then you will have two saws. This will allow you to switch saws as they heat up. Letting them cool down. God bless
Thomas Desmond good point!
I would love to sled down those tracks in the winter!
Just imagine the stupid rate of speed you could attain!
Stopping would be another story altogether, though... Yet would be a blast to try!
Steven De Gonia stopping would definitely be the issue here! 😂😂
I'm sure gravity would make sure you stop with a bump or two !! 😬
I like how children will always wave.
Your daughter makes me think of my daughter with the plum just eat set it down and keep going back till it’s done
Justinsr1983 😂😂 I’m glad she’s not the only one. The other day she left some fruit on the tractor seat and I sat right it in. All I could do is laugh.
Danger!
Kleeman said he was going to mount them on trees to be cut down later on meaning that screw is gonna be a risk to the saw blade.
chaser ball...(filter)
William Harris absolutely correct. Could not agree more.
Great ... that logic of a child !!!
Kleenman for the side of that badge that has a broken stud. Just cut a piece of all thread and Gorilla glue the all thread to it. God bless
Thomas Desmond you know that probably work out since that badge is plastic. I’ll give it a go!
When you have the wife lift you up in the tractor bucket to cut limb's that's when it get's interesting. Been there done that ! Good video !!
Don VanMeter hahaha now that’s a trust exercise!
Your daughter "Sweet Pea" reminds me of my "Ronni Runtski" at her age.
Daddy what's, why's it do that, where's it go, what's it do and the infamous.
But Daddy, that's just silly 😅😅😅😅
And Ronni is a blonde as well.
Ronald Heit 😂 they have a lot of questions!
Your 3 o'clock. She's a keeper.. you? Lol
michael robbins I’m a lucky man!
Enjoyed watching the work around your property. The mini holiday looked awsome, we have a similar incline railway here in England goes up the cliffs. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/East_Hill_Cliff_Railway
Who’s got her croc’s on the wrong feet ! (yes I know they fit better like that !)
CrimeVid hahaha, I don’t even know why they make left and right shoes for toddlers 😂
Dude clean the thing up before you tear into it . You are going to have all sorts of shmoo in places where it should not be
Michael Max or run everything through parts wash before reassembly...that’s the way I normally do it and haven’t had any issues.
You tube
Great video Mike, there's something similar to the railway over here in Scarborough, England, I've not been for ages, it's about I guess 80-100 miles from where I live, here's it's website though for your interest www.centraltramway.co.uk/
