Hello everyone! Thank you for all the love on the video and my bathroom remodel!! I’ve been getting a lot of comments asking me about Retin-A so instead of continuing to answer everyone individually, I will address it here. No, I do not use Retin-A or any form of retinol. I have used it in the past- for 6 months at a time(because I know it can take a while to “work”) but I never saw any noticeable changes to my skin. So many people- including dermatologists- swear by it, and I’m not saying you shouldn’t use it. I simply choose not to. I’m also not saying I won’t ever try it again, but for now I like the results I’m seeing with my current routine.
Risa Does Makeup I have that same cloth it's great. I am from Canada and unfortunately maelove products aren't available here 😟 I use the ordinary and definitely want to try some of the mad hippie products as well the strivectin neck cream.

Love your bathroom! The story you shared about your husband is so funny. My hubby is on a self improvement journey. He has lost over 50 lbs. And he has gotten into skin care. He gets all of his from the drugstore. He looks amazing.
Risa, I bet a lot of us (Risa does makeup family) did this too. When I was little I used to sit at the edge of my mom’s tub almost every morning and watch her put on her Estee Lauder and Lancôme Make-up. I believe I was like 8 years old, I’m not sure how I ended up in her bathroom every morning but, it was like clockwork. I am in my 50’s now. (Funny how those 2 brands were high end that long ago, and still holds high end titles today. She still wears Estée Lauder double wear. Such commitment!! She’s so funny and a lovely lady. At night she called me in to watch her night time skin care. She knew how much I loved makeup back then. Her skincare, I don’t quite remember but, she has been using lotions and potions all my life. I guess that’s why I love makeup. She is 80 now and please let me add that her skin is almost flawless. She always wore a hat and sunscreen, on the beach. I am from Hawaii so, of course going to the beach was a regular event. She started with a big hat, big sunglasses and I believe suncreen came along 50 years ago? Not sure, But, she never forgot her neck and chest. She may be one of the first pioneers to do neck and chest every night. As soon as I was allowed, she started me with skincare before makeup. I started face, neck and chest with lotions back then and really never knew why, except for she did it and I wanted to copy her. So, everyone when ever Risa does neck and chest that’s the golden ticket right there. My mom’s face neck and chest are still smooth and beautiful. And, we all are educated now to include face, neck and chest. My mom’s neck is so smooth. We all know now how it’s critical. The neck really can show the aging and then the scarves come out usually. Not her, which shows the proof. Risa has a beautiful neck, I’m guessing she has been doing skin care for a long time. Everyone just viewing, you guys need to subscribe and have the little bell notifying you when Risa uploads. She does everything, makeup of course and her style, outfits, reviews, hair, the whole package. The younger TH-camrs, I notice, some don’t normally do all of this, their young and very talented, but not quite there for skincare like we all need. Thank you guys!
I am ALWAYS in for a skin care video and I LOVED yours. You have some wonderful products in your routine... Mad Hippie is my all time favorite cream cleanser! I love that whole line. Totally enjoyed this....Gorgous bathroom! And cute story about your hubby ❤️❤️❤️

Love your glam-classic bathroom aesthetic! Some ideas you requested are: 1. Install a towel warmer on the wall between your shower and toilet closet. The design can add interest and function when the towel warmer is off and on. 2. Put a glam vanity in the area where your tub was with a lux-comfy chair. 3. Throughout the bathroom add in softness with towels and bath rug(s). Anywhere something is needed visually you can consider towel hooks/bars as towels soften a bathroom look. Regardless of what you add, your bathroom remodel is so lovely!
I am 100% with you on the shower-vs.-bath thing, and I LOVE your new shower with the "seat" and all, really lovely! nd all the storage space you have with your new vanity is wonderful. Great video!

Excellent video... I love to see what skincare products others are loving... I feel I'm always adjusting my routine...sometimes it's frustrating bc I move on to other products before finishing the last 💕💕
Hi! I’m so glad you enjoyed the video! Try sticking to one routine for at least two months. Sometimes it takes that long to start noticing a difference. I know it’s tempting to mix things up but you might be very glad you were patient and didn’t go out and spend even more money. 😃

Hi Janet! I purchased the vanity tray from HomeGoods a couple years ago. They probably still carry something similar. I go there for most of my bathroom accessories.
Beautiful bathroom. Add a green plant (doesn't have to be real, like an orchid). Add a tiny table, or shelf next to the cushioned stool to hold a candle, cup of tea or fruit water to enjoy after your shower while you dry off, apply lotion etc. A nice hook or something to hold towel and fresh clothing. mmmm enjoy.
My hubs is often scratching his head wondering why I keep buying skin care...."dont u just put on creme" 🤦♀️yes my love, when we were 18 but NOT ANYMORE...lol
Love your bathroom! You could do a wall of antiqued mirrors in that corner and add a small silver table - or you could add some glass shelving and display your jewelry instead of using that corner standing stand. - the chandelier is beautiful!

LOL!! My husband knows my skincare routine and he just stays out of the bathroom for 30 min or so. When my daughter is home from college, we usually go to my bathroom for makeup removal/skincare. I enjoy the time catching up with her and our conversations range in topic. I love your remodel, I’m hoping we can do our bathroom in the next 2-3 yrs and this year we got new appliances and revamped our master closet. Our twins are starting their senior year of college so there will be extra money in the piggy bank....yay! 🙂

Thank you so much for taking the time to show us 40 plus glam gals, your routine. I always use a spritz of vit C spray just before my skincare routine. Risa, thank you so much for this video. We have the exact same type of skin - oily, dehydrated surface and orange peel chin and it also is my biggest issue. This was so helpful. I am going to get rid of my disposable face wipes and move to the cloths you use. I use many of the products you do and will get a few others you recommend. Thank you so much!

I absolutely love skincare, I find it relaxing. Maybe because I started late in my 40s, had 3 teens, and a super crazy job? It always feels like I'm getting rid of so much more than makeup and dirt, than massaging and nourishing my skin. Anyway, my husband was watching and when I was all done he said, "I am so glad you love me wrinkles and all because I couldn't do all of that. You know I'd love you, wrinkles and all?" I replied, "I enjoy it!" He laughed and said, " Well in that case, I love you, craziness and all. "
There are some really breathtakingly beautiful wall papers available. Look to really high end shops to find them. They are expensive, but used in smaller spaces as your dressing area and in the corner where you may add a shelf, they are affordable. And the impact they can make is priceless.

The bathroom looks fantastic! I noticed small details like the drawer pulls. It’s amazing how much difference a small detail like that will make. I really loved the ones you chose. C serum by Timeless - Niacinamide and zinc by The Ordinary - Vegan moisturizer by Milk - Strivectin neck cream (you made me buy it 😊). And sometimes I use the Rose Hip Oil by The Ordinary, the Redermic R by La Roche Posay and the AHA-BHA peeling by The Ordinary. Sadly, Maelove doesn’t ship to Europe. Thanks for your videos!
Beautiful beautiful remodel. The lighting is beyond stunning. It is so up my alley. I would have chosen the exact ones. I love chandeliers so much I even have one over the washer and dryer. That’s so funny Risa , my husband of 19yrs also has no idea what I’m using for my daily beauty rituals! He uses pretty much any body wash in his shower. By the way , we have separate bathrooms, THANK GOD!!! Also, lovely Bathroom 🛁! 🥰🌺🌺🌺
Hi Risa, thank you for sharing your bathroom and your husband's comments! When you showed the wall by the shower, I was thinking that a chrome towel warmer would fit there nicely, Hestia has a beautiful one, it's decorative and warms your towels, not sure if warm towels are a thing in your part of the country.
A towel warmer is a great idea but no, I don’t think I’d use it much. It’s only cold here about two months out of the year. If I were still living in Michigan or Minnesota? Heck yes I would put one in!!!!

I really like seeing skincare routines like this this that are somewhat affordable ..so thank you for that. A lot of the skincare routines that I see on TH-cam beauty channels are ridiculously expensive and as soon as I see that or they start on medical grade on only products they loose me as viewer because yes I'm sure they are effective but just not practical or affordable.
Thank you for your comment Dawn! Good skincare does not have to cost a fortune. It all comes down to ingredients and the concentration of those ingredients. A lot of brands simply have no means of justifying their high price tags.

Your master bath turned out great! Good for you for getting rid of the tub if you didn’t need it instead of putting that stand alone tub that’s so popular right now. I’m not a bath person either! I turned 40 this year and am noticing orange peel skin in exactly the same areas as you! I can’t stand it 😩 I have oily/combination with large pores that can dehydrate very easily so I can’t use harsh drying ingredients.

LOL!! My husband knows my skincare routine and he just stays out of the bathroom for 30 min or so. When my daughter is home from college, we usually go to my bathroom for makeup removal/skincare. I enjoy the time catching up with her and our conversations range in topic. I love your remodel, I’m hoping we can do our bathroom in the next 2-3 yrs and this year we got new appliances and revamped our master closet. Our twins are starting their senior year of college so there will be extra money in the piggy bank....yay! 🙂

Risa, thank you so much for this video. We have the exact same type of skin - oily, dehydrated surface and orange peel chin and it also is my biggest issue. This was so helpful. Love your new bathroom, it looks beautiful and definitely spa like. Your husband's comment is hilarious! Reminds me of the one time my husband was watching me do mine. I absolutely love skincare, I find it relaxing. Maybe because I started late in my 40s, had 3 teens, and a super crazy job? It always feels like I'm getting rid of so much more than makeup and dirt, than massaging and nourishing my skin. Anyway, my husband was watching and when I was all done he said, "I am so glad you love me wrinkles and all because I couldn't do all of that. You know I'd love you, wrinkles and all?" I replied, "I enjoy it!" He laughed and said, " Well in that case, I love you, craziness and all. "
There are some really breathtakingly beautiful wall papers available. Look to really high end shops to find them. They are expensive, but used in smaller spaces as your dressing area and in the corner where you may add a shelf, they are affordable. And the impact they can make is priceless.

What a beautiful bathroom! It’s gorgeous and peaceful. Your skincare routine is similar to mine:
- cleansing oil
- Cerave Foaming cleanser
- Vit. C serum by Timeless
- Niacinamide and zinc by The Ordinary
- Vegan moisturizer by Milk
- Strivectin neck cream (you made me buy it 😊).
And sometimes I use the Rose Hip Oil by The Ordinary, the Redermic R by La Roche Posay and the AHA-BHA peeling by The Ordinary.
Sadly, Maelove doesn’t ship to Europe.

Beautiful beautiful remodel. The lighting is beyond stunning. It is so up my alley. I would have chosen the exact ones. I love chandeliers so much I even have one over the washer and dryer. Everyone that sees it gets a real kick out of it. Hugs from Az 🤗. PS and I’m sure my hubby would have the same reaction if not even more so. I really enjoyed this video, I’m older than you 😉 and just recently, mainly because of this type of content, I started a morning and night routine. I do see the difference! My husband says now, “let me kiss that soft and supple face😆”.

That’s so funny Risa , my husband of 19yrs also has no idea what I’m using for my daily beauty rituals! He uses pretty much any body wash in his shower. By the way , we have separate bathrooms, THANK GOD!!! Also, lovely Bathroom 🛁! 🥰🌺🌺🌺
Hi Risa, thank you for sharing your bathroom and your husband's comments! When you showed the wall by the shower, I was thinking that a chrome towel warmer would fit there nicely, Hestia has a beautiful one, it's decorative and warms your towels, not sure if warm towels are a thing in your part of the country.
A towel warmer is a great idea but no, I don’t think I’d use it much. It’s only cold here about two months out of the year. If I were still living in Michigan or Minnesota? Heck yes I would put one in!!!!

I really like seeing skincare routines like this this that are somewhat affordable ..so thank you for that.
A lot of the skincare routines that I see on TH-cam beauty channels are ridiculously expensive and as soon as I see that or they start on medical grade on only products they loose me as viewer because yes I'm sure they are effective but just not practical or affordable.
Thank you for your comment Dawn! Good skincare does not have to cost a fortune. It all comes down to ingredients and the concentration of those ingredients. A lot of brands simply have no means of justifying their high price tags.

I highly recommend a towel warmer for that area. We got a floor standing one at bed bath and beyond. And my husband and I both love it.

Your master bath turned out great! Good for you for getting rid of the tub if you didn’t need it instead of putting that stand alone tub that’s so popular right now. I’m not a bath person either! I turned 40 this year and am noticing orange peel skin in exactly the same areas as you! I can’t stand it 😩 I have oily/combination with large pores that can dehydrate very easily so I can’t use harsh drying ingredients.
